Hope I win this.. I’ve got a good feeling this time!
I cant do much worse than last time surely haha
Okay, the deadline has passed and I've compiled the results to post in McDonalds later Prepare yourselves for a ton of zeroes!
This could be very bad for me.
Hyped for this *.* the range of answers for most questions should be interesting.
...now I want McDonalds >.>
Let's get going!
1. Name a thread posted in the Chart forum weekly that isn’t the Friday Chart Show thread
21: iTunes Weekly Thread – Yorkie3 – gavindeejay - SM351 – vibe – Jahq – Bjork – HarryEzra – danG – Mack – 777666jason – Theo – Jade – Dobbo – Addy – Riser – Suedehead2 – Dannyboy – LewisGT – Bré – Midge – Ultra – WhoOdyssey
3: Friday Chart Predictions – Pete – Chez – FleetSeb – TS0301
2: Top 100 Singles & Albums – paulgilb – CianS - SamJudd
1: Reshuffle Chart – Dexton – Jafet
0: Sales – Zárate
0: New Releases – Jupiter
0: Spotify Chart Thread - SarahHappy Birthday Thread – cqmerqn
I did think this question would be a runaway winner, but I didn’t think it would be the iTunes thread! Still as popular as ever (despite songs only needing to sell 3 copies to go Top 100 now), Buzzjack certainly hopes iTunes doesn’t shut it’s doors for good, or we’ll all be confined to the Spotify bi-monthly thread (or maybe a new Amazon thread ) Friday Chart Predictions is second, but by no means close, and the only other scoring answers are the Top 100 thread and the Reshuffle Chart, which has had at least six different hosts since I joined, but hopefully is a bit more stable now with Dexton. Our nul-pointes are the Sales and New Releases threads, and the Spotify Chart thread (which, as I said earlier, is bi-monthly). Cqmerqn’s first answer is a taste of what’s to come from him for the rest of the questions.
Wahey!
The iTunes thread still gets so many replies so this was a no brainer!
Surprised to see that win and also by a landslide, but that's also probably because I don't think I've ever looked at it myself! Didn't even cross my mind
2. Name a #1 by an artist with an Artist Forum
11:Dua Lipa – New Rules – Bjork – HarryEzra – Dexton – CianS – Mack – Theo - TS0301 – Jade – SamJudd – Midge – Jupiter – WhoOdyssey
4: Dua Lipa – One Kiss (with Calvin Harris) – Yorkie3 – danG – Jafet – Riser - Suedehead2
2: Taylor Swift – Look What You Made Me Do – paulgilb – Ultra – Sarah
2: The Saturdays – What About Us – LewisGT – Bré - Dobbo
1: Britney Spears – Baby One More Time – gavindeejay - Zárate
1: Ariana Grande – Problem – Pete – Jahq
1: Kylie Minogue – Can’t Get You Out of My Head – Chez – Dannyboy
0: Little Mix – Shout Out To My Ex - SM351
0: Spice Girls – Wannabe – vibe
0: Lady Gaga – Bad Romance – FleetSeb
0: Britney Spears – Toxic – AddyLouisa – YES – cqmerqn
I’m actually surprised New Rules didn’t get more votes, come to think of it! A Buzzjack favourite and one of the newest artist forums, Dua gets the top two answers, the second most popular being the current #1 which I can only assume people didn’t go for as they saw it more as a Calvin song. Taylor gets two points, alongside What About Us (PLEASE put artist names, Dobbo you were about 10 seconds away from getting no points for choosing a P!nk song that wasn’t #1 before I realised ) and our single pointers include Ariana’s Problem (which is the first #1 by the first artist alphabetically, so I’m annoyed more people didn’t go for it), a Britney and a Kylie. A few reasonable answers get nul as well.
I’m slaying
So long gone are the days when anything Saturdays related would be a guaranteed top answer.
And sorry Pete!
Thanks Dua Lipa worth the punt there.
Yay, off to a brilliant start with two top answers *.* iTunes instantly came into my head, as it has quite a legacy on here (The Saturdays vs. John Newman week, the term 'iLoons' etc.) and is still popular now. Then 'New Rules' was just the first to come into my head as well, such a well-loved song on here.
My first thought was the Spotify thread for q1
But then i realised the thread is not weekly
3.Name an artist who followed up a hit with a song peaking between #41 and #75
3: Lukas Graham – Pete - TS0301 – LewisGT – SamJudd
2: Zara Larsson – gavindeejay – Jafet - Jupiter
2: Rihanna – danG – Jade - Dobbo
1: DJ Khaled – Yorkie3 - CianS
1: Luis Fonsi - SM351 – Midge
1: George Ezra – FleetSeb – WhoOdyssey
1: Charlie Puth – Jahq - Riser

0: Madonna – Sarah The Snake ft. danG – cqmerqn
PANDER TO THE HOST PEOPLE! Four people who actually have eyes managed to notice the subtle hint in the banner, although the point advantage they get is minimal. Zara and Rihanna both pick up 2 with very notable flops Kiss It Better (which kicked up a stink on here) and So Good. A bunch more got a single point (well done to you guys) and we get an avalanche of zeroes as well.
Oh I had forgotten about kiss it better! I was referring to stay followed by pour it up but no matter.
Yep completely missed that hint
Ooh I didn't even think to pander to the host 'Kiss It Better' immediately came into my head as a shocking song to just miss out on the top 40, after such a smash in 'Work'. I did nearly switch to Zara Larsson though. Ah well, yay for scoring points nevertheless!
I feel like Pour It Up would in 2018 probably chart better than Stay!
re Lukas Graham I had no idea that wasn't a one hit wonder
Thought Calvin was the obvious answer with Feels
And its follow up totally flopping, Faking it, i think it was
4. Name a regular Buzzjack Charts contributor who joined the site after the start of 2017
28: Dexton – Pete – Yorkie3 - gavindeejay - SM351 – vibe – Chez – FleetSeb – Jahq – Bjork – HarryEzra – danG – CianS – Dexton – Jafet – Zárate - 777666jason – Theo - TS0301 – Jade – Dobbo – Addy – Riser - Suedehead2 – Dannyboy – LewisGT – Midge – Ultra – Jupiter – WhoOdyssey
2: WhoOdyssey – paulgilb – Mack – Bré
0: Sergejdordij98 - Sarah
0: Platinum – SamJuddJoseph – cqmerqn
Yeah, well Dexton basically nominating himself as the answer scuppered this one one of the few Australian posters here, he’s really nice (when he’s not ruining Family Fortunes questions), and, if I remember correctly, is a Justin Timberlake fan. The only other point scorer is the lovely WhoOdyssey, who I’m also warming to. Personal Charts regular Sergej gets a zero, alongside platinum (who?).
Thank you to Paul, Mack & Bre!
Yay! Dexton stuck in my head, because I created a Lounge thread not too long ago called 'How has BuzzJack changed since you joined?' and I think he was the only person in the thread who said they had joined in 2017 I did consider WhoOdyssey as well though so yay for sticking with my gut.
Sorry to be a nag but you don't seem to have put my answer in the results for question 2
Oh crap just seen my inbox
Kinda forgot we had a Dua Lipa forum ngl. The Saturdays are still my first thought for an artist forum but I guess that's a little old skool these days ~
For #3 I took the highest artist in the current iTunes chart that applies to, I realise now that when this thread opened Jess Glynne's song hadn't been released yet so that was probably a stupid move (not like I missed out on many points anyway).
I guess I might as well boycott the rest of these results after forgetting about Dexton though. I forgot he joined so recently oops (may have read the question as 'since 2018' instead of 'since 2017')
5. Name a song which was in the Top 10 on its 20th week in the charts
11: Ed Sheeran – Shape of You – Yorkie3 – Jahq – Bjork - Dexton – Zárate - 777666jason – Theo – Dobbo – Riser – Bré – SamJudd – WhoOdyssey
10: Drake – One Dance – Pete – Chez – paulgilb – FleetSeb – HarryEzra – danG – CianS – Jade - Suedehead2 – LewisGT – Midge
3: Pharrell Williams – Happy – Jafet - TS0301 – Addy - Ultra
0: Portugal. The Man - Feel It Still – gavindeejay
0: Ed Sheeran – Thinking Out Loud - SM351
0: Bryan Adams – Everything I Do (I Do It For You) – vibe
0: Nickelback – Rockstar – Mack
0: Celine Dion - Think Twice – Dannyboy
0: Ed Sheeran – Perfect – Jupiter
0: Adele – Hello – SarahHoney G – The Honey G Show – cqmerqn
So the two big point-scorers here were both long-running #1s which we were all sick to death of. Drake’s One Dance kept a ton of good songs off the top for the 15 weeks it was there – Ed only kept his own two songs off the top but is more annoyingly still in the Top 100. Pharell’s long-running ‘Happy’ also picks up a couple of points, and we get another barrage of zeroes.
I nearly said 'Feel It Still' but then looked it up and found its 20th week on the chart was still before it went top 10 yay for finally not flopping xo
Omg I initially put 'Happy' after the recent 'biggest hit of the decade' thread but then switched to 'One Dance', after thinking that people might flock to a song that spent lots of weeks at #1. Thought I'd go recent but completely forgot about 'Shape Of You's mammoth run ah well, only 1 point in it!
Honey G deffo deserved 20 weeks top 10 minimum tbh
Honey G, legend
Unfortunately Polyhex, which I'd usually use for chart runs, was down when I was answering that last question so I had to guess!
6. Name a song which spent at least 3 consecutive weeks in the same position (outside the Top 10)
19: Bebe Rexha – Meant to Be – Pete – Yorkie3 – paulgilb – Bjork – danG – CianS – Dexton – Zárate - 777666jason – Jade – Dobbo – Addy – Riser - Suedehead2 – Dannyboy – LewisGT – Ultra – Jupiter – WhoOdyssey – Sarah
4: Idina Menzel – Let It Go – gavindeejay - SM351 – Jahq – HarryEzra - Jafet
0: Ed Sheeran – Thinking Out Loud – vibe
0: Steps – 5,6,7,8 – Chez
0: Kungs – This Girl – FleetSeb
0: Adele – Set Fire to the Rain
0: Zac Efron & Zendaya – Rewrite the Stars – Theo
0: Future – Mask Off - TS0301
0: Hugh Jackman et al. – The Greatest Show – Bré
0: Rihanna – Te Amo – SamJudd
0: Vanessa Carlton – A Thousand Miles - MidgePeteFromLeeds – cqmerqn
Okay so I will admit I came up with this question before Bebe spent three agonising (or fortunate, depending on your opinion of the song) weeks at #11. The only other point scorer is Frozen classic Let It Go, which did the same at #21. Everything else gets a big fat zero, including both Greatest Showman tracks and Future’s Mask Off, all of which I think would have got more points without Bebe.
Bebe Rexha queen of #11
'Meant To Be' instantly came into my head due to the recency factor and a memorable near-miss, as it's terrible so I've been cheering on its #11 stalling I actually wasn't sure if its consecutive stall at #11 was 2 or 3 weeks, so I was very glad when the latter option was indeed the case when looking it up.
7. Name a Top 40 single which references the Lord
12: Drake – God’s Plan – Yorkie3 – gavindeejay - SM351 – Chez – Bjork – Jafet – Zárate - 777666jason – Theo – Jade - Suedehead2 – SamJudd – Ultra
5: Stormzy – Blinded By Your Grace – Pete – FleetSeb – danG – Riser – LewisGT - WhoOdyssey
5: George Harrison – My Sweet Lord – paulgilb – CianS – Dobbo – Addy – Dannyboy – Midge
1: Oasis – Lord Don’t Slow Me Down – Mack - TS0301
1: The Beach Boys – God Only Knows – Bré – Jupiter
0: Madonna – Like a Prayer – vibe
0: Justin Bieber – Beauty and a Beat – Jahq
0: P!nk – God Is a DJ – HarryEzra
0: Calvin Harris & HAIM – Pray to God
0: Various - Hallelujah - SarahLouisa Johnson – Best Behaviour – cqmerqn
GAHD’S PLAHN. Now I deliberately said ‘Lord’ instead of ‘God’ so everyone didn’t put Drake, and it has worked to an extent, even though he is the most guessed artist. Stormzy’s amazing worship track is the joint second most guessed track, alongside a George Harrison track I’d never heard of. Oasis and the Beach Boys get a point apiece, and once again we have zeroes a plenty, including Jahq trying to make some joke about Justin Bieber being the Lord.
(7 questions in and not even on Page 3, eek)
Can't believe I didn't think of God's Plan! BFYGP2 is a banger though.
Lmao the first song to come into my head was actually Joan Osborne - 'One Of Us' but I knew no-one would put that so I had to think a lil harder. Then voila, Drake popped into my head. Yay, this has gone very well on the whole so far.
Can't believe I completely forgot about Stormzy
Doing well even with screw up 5 top answers so far
damn I thought more people would go for Stormzy as that track says 'lord' a lot. I did think of 'God's Plan' also but the question said 'lord' not 'god'.
you've seriously never heard 'My Sweet Lord'? you'd probably like it.
Kinda proud to have not thought of Bebe Rexha ngl. Not so much to have not thought of 'God's Plan', that just didn't come to mind at all somehow. I did these answers in a bit of a rush last night, maybe should have spent a bit more time thinking about some of these
Honestly couldnt think of ANY recent songs with God or Lord in the title (my first and unshakeable though was actually Green Light!), even God's Plan still in my head doesn't quite fit the bill.
Still feel like half these Drake songs, though long runners, are a little forgettable.
GENUINELY surprised at Sales getting null points! I put it because it was so easy to type, and I assumed many ppl would do the same.
8.Name an artist who has achieved a #1 in the Albums chart but is yet to have a Top 40 single
9: Blossoms – gavindeejay – Bjork – HarryEzra – Dexton – Jade – Riser - Suedehead2 – LewisGT – Bré – WhoOdyssey
6: Ward Thomas – paulgilb – FleetSeb – CianS - 777666jason - TS0301 – Midge – Jupiter
4: Royal Blood – Chez – danG – Theo – Dobbo - SamJudd
2: The National – Pete – Jahq - Ultra
0: Catfish & the Bottlemen – Yorkie3
0: Caro Emerald - SM351
0: James Horner – vibe
0: Michael Ball & Alfie Boe – Jafet
0: Pete Tong – Zárate
0: Il Divo – Mack
0: Alfie Boe – Addy
0: Janet Jackson – Dannyboy
0: No Answer - SarahBeyoncé – cqmerqn
Another mixed bag here! Blossoms is the highest scorer here, spending a surprising 2 weeks at #1 with their last album before plummeting down the charts. They have scored themselves three Top 100 hits to date though, with 2 entering this week. Second is Ward Thomas, a surprising Albums #1 who I didn’t go for as I thought they would be too obscure. Royal Blood pick up a couple of points, as do The National (who I believe are the most recent additions to this group). Quite a few zeroes once again (sorry, I couldn’t really combine Alfie Boe with Ball & Boe )
Yessss!! It was between Blossoms and Ward Thomas for me but the former clinched it due to their new album putting them back in the minds of the masses. Woop.
I have 7/8 top answers so far I believe I'm definitely coming to flop with question 10 though I think
Oh my Darwin, that was so obvious! And I’m streaming the Blossoms’ new album a lot!
Omg Royal Blood crossed my mind but I ruled them out because I wrongly thought 'Figure It Out' was a top 40 hit well I never!
Ayy I got one again. 'Charlemagne' really should have been a hit tho.
I didn't consider Meant To Be and only went for Let It Go THIS IS WHAT I GET FOR GOING FOR IDINA MENZEL :/
9. Name a Top 40 single by someone who was born, raised or currently resides in Leeds
8: Kaiser Chiefs – Ruby – Yorkie3 – gavindeejay – paulgilb – FleetSeb – danG - Suedehead2 – Bré – Sarah - 777666jason
8: Mel B – I Want You Back – Jahq – Dexton – Jafet – Zárate – Jade – Dobbo – Addy – SamJudd - WhoOdyssey
5: Corinne Bailey Rae – Put Your Records On – Bjork – Theo - TS0301 – Riser – Ultra – Jupiter
3: Kaiser Chiefs – I Predict a Riot – Chez – HarryEzra – Mack - Midge
1: Tom Zanetti – You Want Me – Pete - LewisGT
1: Mel B – Wannabe - SM351 - CianS
0: Mel B – Feels So Good – vibe
0: Sigma – Changing – DannyboyDrake – cqmerqn
Now I was going to sing all of these amazing songs, but I’ve never heard this Mel B song in my life before I’m assuming it’s her biggest solo hit though, with so many people going for it. In joint first, however, is the Kaisers’ Ruby (ARUBERUBERUBERUBEHH!), and close behind is Corinne Bailey Rae’s Put Your Records on (GUHRRL, PUT YOW RECORDS OWHHN) and I Predict a Riot (IPREDICT ORIOT!) which I associate with the Kaisers much more than Ruby, interestingly enough. You Want Me picks up a point (OKAY DEN WATCH WHAT I SAY DEN) , as does Wannabe – and I’m too out of breath to do that one.
Ooh I didn't envisage Mel B as a (joint) top answer here at all for some reason. Yay!
Tom Zanetti :cheeseblock:
(I'll post the last question when we get to page 4 )
-Post to help this move on to page 4 as I need to go out shortly- x
Pete taken the thread hostage
Mel B was my first thought for that one
Wasn't sure if Kaiser Chiefs would fit as a 'someone' so didn't risk it
I'm doing very well so far!
Page 4 is here!
For that one I went to "List of famous people from Leeds" or whatever it's called on Wikipedia, and Corinne was the first prominent musician as I went down the list. I'm glad 5 others answered her!
10. Name an artist who has only ever had one song in the Top 100
9: Lil Dicky – Pete – Jahq – danG – CianS – Dexton – Zárate – Dobbo – Riser - Suedehead2 – LewisGT
3: Gotye – FleetSeb – Bjork – HarryEzra – SamJudd
1: BlocBoy JB – Yorkie3 – gavindeejay
1: Rachel Platten – Mack - Theo
1: Los Del Rio - 777666jason - TS0301
1: Sam Bailey – Dannyboy - Sarah
1: Banx & Ranx – Bré – Ultra
1: Teletubbies – vibe – Midge
0: Las Ketchup - SM351
0: David Zowie – Chez
0: Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Choir – paulgilb
0: Rebecca Black – Jafet
0: Mason Ramsey – Jade
0: CNCO – Addy
0: Honey G – Jupiter
0: Portugal. The Man – WhoOdysseyJustin Bieber – cqmerqn
Lil Dicky is the most recent winner of this award, and if you didn’t go for him you were basically toast. Gotye limits the damage a little bit, with none of the rest of his amazing back catalogue doing anything ( ), and there are quite a few one pointers as well, which quite surprisingly include Los Del Rio and the Teletubbies The zeroes flood in again, this time including Mason Ramsey who debuted at #100 this week, and Honey G, who thankfully has never had a chart hit.
Argh! I thought PTM would have a few more people.
Yodel kid deserved more
(I realised I was especially doomed with him when he only charted on Friday but it was too iconic to pass up)
I feel like I have potentially robbed myself of a win there but we'll see.
Same logic as #3, completely forgot about Lil Dicky oops x
Well that was a massive flop. x
Phew I was so determined just not to be wrong glad someone else went with it too
Well all in all I did quite terribly
Shouldn't Honey G be a wrong answer? She hasn't had a song in the Top 100.
It's Family Fortunes, there are no wrong answers.
Results:

I surprised myself 6 top answers 1 total screw up can't wait to see where I finish
Omg so I would’ve won if this was Pointless?
Slay
Don’t think I did too bad here
Well, Jesus that went terribly, I blame me not paying attention to the modern charts for missing literally half of these, especially whatever that Bebe Rexha song is, (Although I was sure Friday Chart Predictions, there was the hinting in the question and iTunes isn't meant to be relevant anymore Also, I Predict a Riot seems so much bigger than Ruby these days so I'm kinda surprised that was the top one).
I assume lots of people are still out enjoying the lovely weather rather than browsing Buzzjack

WhoOdyssey
Good result. FF > Pointless
yas another good finish for me, I should still be top of the leaderboard too!
Well certainly flopped there, I did. Thanks for doing this, Pete.
4: WhoOdyssey 113 pts
5: Riser 112 pts
Bjork v Jade v Suedehead - make your predictions now!
I think it'll be Jade, who's going to overtake Bré on the leaderboard no matter what anyway.
Surprise!
1: Bjork 120 pts
=1: Jade 120 pts
=1: Suedehead2 120 pts
LOL!!! Congrats to all three of you!!!
!!! No way, amazing thrilled to have been a winner, congrats to Bjork and Suedey also! Up to 2nd on the leaderboard, yay *.*
Thanks for doing this Pete! I am so much better at Family Fortunes than Pointless (because it relies more on logic than luck in the Buzzjack format and I don't seem to have much luck with the latter) so that always helps, enjoyable round anyway!
so I was right in that prediction! congrats y'all.
What kind of slayage xo
Thanks for doing this Pete. It was a great set of questions (and a great result).
Happy to finally do well in something! Thanks for hosting!
Great
Questions were very well thought
Yes this one is far easier than pointless
Which is kinda unpredictable
Thanks for hosting Pete
These were the great questions, really fitting to family fortunes. It was very hard to predict the right question in many many cases, and there were not many runaway answers!
Tomorrow I’m putting up the Pointless round, I hope you all enjoy it!
Thanks for hosting Pete!
Congrats to our three winners
Thanks for doing this Pete! 16th isn't the best score but it isn't the worse either so I'm happy
Thanks for hosting, PeteFromLeeds!
This was such a good round!!! Great variety of questions and not too many landslides. I used this week's top 100 on the OCC site (with the chart runs etc.) to get most of my answers which was quite easy, so I'm thrilled to finish top 5 without that much effort.
Thanks Pete Congrats to Suedey, Jade and Bjork! (Oh and Jahq, I appreciate you also answering Charlie Puth for #3 <3)
Top 8 pretty good shame those 3 points I stupidly missed (read the whole question next time) would have put me 6th
I forgot to say yesterday - thanks everyone for taking part!
I could have sworn I said New Rules for question 2 (god knows I meant to at least lmao) but I guess not
I *technically* got second
Thanks Pete for running this!
You were beaten by 3 other people, pretty sure that makes you 4th xxx
They are joint 1st, that doesn't mean you're not 4th
As much as I'd love to claim I am higher than 29th, that's not how rankings work x
Fair enough!
my first instinct was also to go for Joan Osborne's One of Us, best God song ever but thought no one would know it. It's a genious song, What if God was one of us, just a stranger on the bus? lalala
with the Leeds question, my first instinct was Soft Cell - Tainted love, good I changed my mind
