BJSC 107 | Savoy - Let You Go | 14th (207 points) I mean like it’s still a good placing (it’s not a flop thank goodness) but it was exactly as I expected: Nocturnal Tapes all over again. It gained a sufficient amount of hype from the get-go and it... didn’t go as planned. Plus I have to live with the fact that I passed up on a winner so yeah... not a good sight. I may... go pop. Idk. But what these past two months have taught me is that I should not second guess myself. Or have 80 potentials on the backburner. |

MASQUERADE | AS: Terra Avium | Varien x Swarm - Never Ending | 17th (123 points) Last year was an unholy disaster, we sent Panic! At The Disco, and while I don’t regret anything regarding Brendon Urie I just wish I could have done better... Luckily the spin-off came back with a second edition where the ones who did well fought to stay on top and the ones at the bottom fought for some redemption, and thankfully there was some justice for Varien who got jipped due to a clerical error (and I’m not entirely sure how well he did in Rejects) who managed to go top 20 this time. Considering the only aim for this was to beat last year’s disaster, i’d Consider this a rousing success. A HUGE thank you to Bird Nation, a.k.a. Terra Avium for introducing us to this artist, it was fun getting to know more of him and sending a spiritual successor to Slow Acid by Calvin Harris. He has also produced a giant K-pop hit in the form of VIXX - Scentist and Also just recently remixed Billie Eilish so be sure to check those out! And as always, a massive thank you to the voters! Also considered for Masquerade: Moodoid - Reptile Skrux f/Delacey - My Love Is A Weapon Slow Magic - Wildfire (Mielo Remix) Sue McLaren - Unbroken Ojnoj posed as us and sent Contact’s latest song Sunset - while this didn’t have female vocals like Never a Stop did, it still amazes a respectable 10th place! A shoutout to South Danaelanda for recycling Jorn van Deynhoven as a bit of an extra and coming in 7th! |
