Kesha. A name that conjures up one word: Bangers. Not the Miley Cyrus kind, but the glitter-throwing, two-fingered saluting IDGAF sort that only she knows how.

Over the past eight(ish) years, she's delivered plenty of party starters, and though she's faced some tough times in recent years, she's back and delivering the goods once again.

With her long awaited third album Rainbow out this month, Official Charts has crunched the numbers to reveal her 10 biggest singles so far. Across her 15 singles including guest features, Kesha has sold 4.1 million singles and notched up just shy 100 million streams in the UK. But did Tik Tok take the top spot? Where does Timber tumble to? Let's get into the numbers...

Your Love Is My Drug
Released: May 2010
Chart peak: 13

ADVERTISING

"Do you wanna have a slumber party in my basement?". That joyous chorus. Your Love Is My Drug was Kesha's third single from her debut album Animal and reached Number 13 on the Official Singles Chart. It finishes a worthy sixth place on her countdown with combined sales of 250,000.

We R Who We R
Released: January 2011
Chart peak: 1

When it comes to waving your freak flag in pop, Kesha was a trailblazer. Frank, fearless and unashamedly fun, We R Who We R is peak Kesha. Speaking of, it also reached the peak of the Official Singles Chart in 2011 and has shifted 402,000 combined sales to date.

Tik Tok
Released: November 2009
Chart peak: 4

Wait, Tik Tok wasn't a Number 1 single? While it topped the charts around the world, Kesha's debut (back when she was Ke$ha) landed at Number 6 and eventually peaked at 4 in the UK. Looking back at its chart run, it was released during the busy Christmas period and was holding its own against big singles from JLS, Cheryl Cole, Rihanna and Black Eyed Peas for a place in the Top 10 - no mean feat for your first release.

Regardless, Tik Tok is one of those songs that defined a more carefree time in pop music. With 840,000 combined sales, it's Kesha's second biggest single on her official countdown.

Timber
Released: January 2014
Chart peak: 1

156 years from now, the world will probably be a very, very different place, but one thing you can be certain of is Timber being whacked on at the office Christmas party. It's a rowdy rodeo romp. A modern day Cotton-Eyed Joe. Nobody knows the exact origins of Cotton-Eyed Joe (research suggests it pre-dates the American Civil War, which started in 1861), but that doesn't matter, because people know it, and in the year 2173, the same will be said about Timber.

With 1.3 million combined sales, Kesha's collaboration with Pitbull is her biggest single in the UK. Fun fact: It took 16 people to write Timber, including Pitbull, Kesha and Kesha's mum Pebe.

I forget how much I liked her. The first album was filled with potential singles i.e. "Dancing With Tears In My Eyes".

And really loving "Praying" now, it took its time to hit me but it has.

Is it just me, or doesn't anyone else think these lists shouldn't include songs when the artist was only featured, rather than lead credit?

Wasn't expecting to see Right around that high for some reason. It feels quite forgotten these days.

I like them included. It's not like you can't just take them out to see what the actual lead credit best seller is. "Timber" was huge because of Ke$ha just as much as it was Pitbull.

Its nice to see them included, one can just ignore them if one doesn't like their inclusion. Bit torn on Right Round tho, as she never really got credited for that did she?

I'd say yes. I mean, it's credited as a #1 for her in her chart history.

Her "Warrior" era was a complete flop, which was a shame as it was quite a good album.

I believe she wasn't officially credited in the US but she was in the UK.

Thankfully it's not too difficult to get some sort of impression of what everything is selling. 'Blah Blah Blah' was recently certified Silver for sales of 200k and the OCC show that 'Your Love is My Drug' is on 250k; then 'Right Round' was recently certified Platinum for sales of 600k. The only one that is a bit more difficult to estimate is 'Die Young'. That was certified Gold in May 2016 but it appears to be one of her strongest streamers so it could be quite a lot over 400k by now.

This is the list using certifications to fill in the blanks:

1 TIMBER PITBULL FT KESHA 1 1.3m
2 TIK TOK KESHA 4 840k
3 RIGHT ROUND FLO RIDA FT KESHA 1 600k (as of March 2017)
4 DIE YOUNG KESHA 7 400k (as of May 2016)
5 WE R WHO WE R KESHA 1 402k
6 YOUR LOVE IS MY DRUG KESHA 13 250k
7 DIRTY PICTURE TAIO CRUZ FT KESHA 6 200k (before July 2013)
8 TAKE IT OFF KESHA 15 200k (as of December 2014)
9 MY FIRST KISS 3OH3 FT KESHA 7 200k (as of November 2015)
10 BLAH BLAH BLAH KESHA FT 3OH3 11 200k (as of February 2017)

Kind of surprised with Right Round's inclusion though. Justin Timberlake's best sellers list doesn't include Where Is the Love.

Pretty certain she was classed as a featured artist for Right Round (even though she never appeared in the video), where as Justin has never had an official feature credit on WITL.

She wasn't credited on the US release, but for some reason they credited her on the UK release, hence the confusion.

In fact I'd actually go as far to say that Supernatural is my favourite song Kesha has ever produced..... saddens me to think it will go in the forgotten vault 😭
