I've only seen about 90 mins of TWOWW so perhaps not enough to judge properly but I did enjoy Leo in it a lot!!

1 Bruce Dern
2 Chiwetel Ejiofor
3 Leonardo DiCaprio
4 Matthew McConaughey
5 Christian Bale

I absolutely adored Nebraska and Bruce Dern was a big part of making it so great, he was really funny at times and he used the expression on his face so well to flit between sadness and happiness. I actually preferred June Squibb from that film but BSA was such a tough category this year. Chiwetel was great in 12YAS, lots of emotion and his performance helped make it so difficult to watch. Leo was really funny in TWOWW from what I've but I'm not sure I'd give him the win even though it is a great comedic performance. I was never really that impressed with McConaughey, my eyes were just drawn to Jared Leto in every scene they shared so he was really overshadowed for me. I liked Christian Bale in AH but he was probably the least exciting character in the film for me and the weight gain was probably more impressive than the performance itself.

I'd have easily taken out Bale and put in Phoenix, I know he's not keen on awards shows and that probably didn't help his chances but he really should've been nominated (and won!) across the board. Crazy to think that film got NO acting nominations sad.gif I've not seen Captain Phillips either but I have seen clips of the scene where Hanks is getting checked over after being saved and that alone would secure him the nomination for me, a shame he's been snubbed a fair few times in recent years, he's always great !

I'd have put in Joaquin too (and had Amy in for Her over AH) but I think it was always Matthew's year.

Christian was good in AH but I think the two female leads overshadowed him.

Not seen the other movies so dunno who I'd swap for Joaquin. laugh.gif
