UK Chart Run: 3-1-1-1-2-4-13-21-33-47-62-66 (12 weeks)

A valiant effort by Dutch eurodance outfit Doop as their electro-swing number finishes in the top half of this survivor. The catchy/irritating [delete as applicable] song became the second ever eponymously-titled UK #1 just 3 months after the first, Mr Blobby. I don't believe there has ever been another since. They did actually have a second UK 'hit' later in the year called Huckleberry Jam which flopped in at #88. It's more of the same vibe, as I've just found out.

We're at the business end of things now with just 4 tracks remaining.

Doop finally gone!
Didn't realise they had another Top 100 hit, a bit like J.J. Barrie who reached #96 with My Son in 1983.

All good ones left but I've switched to The Sign.

Doop making the top half of this though, let's be honest that nobody saw that coming!!!! *.*

Switching to Ace of Base for this round. I re-listened to Let Loose and despite my prior verdict it has regrown on me again.

Yeah I'm a bit confused by that too. I guess this round was low quality but still!

for me it's even more bizarre how Whigfield got there? Even here in Denmark everybody sees the song as a joke and people just enjoy it for the silly dance

I love all 4 of these so much, choosing is impossible. cry.gif

I'm gonna go for 'The Sign' after much deliberation.
