Two years ago Quizzes were introduced to the chart forum, with a series of quizzes including Family Fortunes, Pointless, Never Mind The Buzzjacks and Cover Puzzle. In light of the pandemic leaving us all in our own homes for the most part it seems like the ideal time to bring it back for Season 2.

If you would like to host a quiz, then please post here which week you would like to take and what quiz you would like to do. You can do one of the tried and tested formats or if you have your own format explain it to me so it can be considered. Your questions ideally should all be chart/music related; for more general-knowledge quizzes, there will be similar events running in The Lounge in the not too distant future.

The big question now is, will anyone be able to dethrone... ME! from the top of the leaderboard. Last season's leaderboard can be viewed at this http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?s=&showtopic=211405&view=findpost&p=6033665.

To get the ball rolling I will host the first quiz, which will be unveiled later today. Ideally this season should last for 10 weeks as per S1, with one quiz per week, but this can be shortened or extended depending on demand.

For those of you unfamiliar with Quizzes here is an explanation of the main formats from Bré.

The leaderboard works by giving 30 points to the winner of each quiz, 29 points to the runner-up and so on. If there are more than 30 participants, anyone outside the top 30 will walk away with nothing. If the host is unable to participate in their own quiz (ie if it's NMTBJs/ACP) or wishes to sit out their own FF/Pointless quiz (hosts are allowed to participate in these, on the basis that they write their own answers before others start coming in) then 'host compensation points' are given by taking the average of their points attained from other quizzes.

I really enjoyed hosting a NMTBJ quiz in the Lounge next year so I'd happily do that again in this. Week 4 maybe

I've been prepping for a new thread on songs which have been at the most different chart positions - I think it could work as a quiz (i.e. guess the songs). Can do Week 7 or any other.

I've been struggling to come up with decent Pointless questions so I'm making the last minute decision to make my quiz another Family Fortunes instead, hope that's ok with y'all xo (will be up soon)

Final Leaderboard

All the points have been counted including host compensation points, from taking the average each host got in all the other rounds. As Bré took part in his own quiz he does not get any, although with 22 points from Week 10 that's more than what would've been given as compensation if he sat it out. Which means it is congratulations to chrissmith276 who is officially the winner of Season 2 of BCFQ. He does so with 208.9 points which include 20.9 as host compensation. There is no widget for winning so your main prize will be getting your name in size 7 gold-ish coloured font.

Interestingly there are TWO runners-up, with both Jade and I getting 199 points, which means my own host compensation rules have lost me a second win. How Ellen DeGenerous of me. In that respect not much has changed since Season 1, where I was the winner and Jade was runner-up. Bré got the bronze medal last season but now settles for a still good showing of 18th. We get a final showing of 60 participants receiving points, in addition to UltraReputation who hosted but didn't partake in any other quiz alongside five other posters who partook in one quiz but missed the top 30 for their quiz.

it’s the average score in terms of leaderboard points per round that you entered if that makes sense.

I was not expecting to climb since the last quiz after performing so badly in Family Fortunes hooray for host compensation points I guess! I'm really happy with a Top 10 finish

Damn was hoping to sneak a top 10 finish and with a good showing in family fortunes I thought I was in with a good shot. Damn you jimwatts and your 0.3 advantage!!

The picture rounds were always a struggle for me though - they're so hard!!

I just wondered if the chart mods would approve another quiz season this autumn as no lounge quizzes appear to have happened all year and I do enjoy a good pointless and family fortunes quiz on here!
