12 December 2017?
Camila!!! Wow! I knew it was a great song but you never know how the public will react. So happy for her and the album is great. She made the right decision then...
oh river is 59p! surprising, thought it was an album track at this stage
guess they figured out Perfect is gonna be on acr so they really wanna get that #1
River should definately be #1 next week then Would also be fantastic if Craig David and/or Rita/Liam could make it there in the coming weeks too.
In a perfect world, Dua Lipa & Camila would grab second #1's with their respective follow-up singles also. But I don't have high hopes for that
17. Troye Sivan - My My My!
59. Jorja Smith - Let Me Down (feat. Stormzy)
1311. Shift K3Y - Only You
Just incredible how Eminem is going to have a no1 single in 2018 especially after 'Walk on water's flooped. Nearly 20 years. Him and JT showing consistancy..
It's a shame 'River' is just so bland and uninteresting. Ughhh.
New Honey G single is the worst song I've heard for a while, it's SO bad
The amazing Sigrid just won BBC SOUND OF 2018. Let's see how it will go from here.
10. Camilla Cabello - Never be the Same

Sigrids EP up to 29
Single at 28
Lets hope all this hype that has been lavished onto Sigrid over the last year actually amounts to something, an incredible amount of money must have been ploughed into her already.
Seeing her at coachella in april. So hyped.
Any sign of Hailee yet?

03. Jason Derulo - Tip Toe (feat. French Montana)
11. Bruno Mars - Finesse (Remix) [feat. Cardi B]
13. Portugal. The Man - Feel it Still
Really praying something somehow blocks 'River' from just going to #1 by default this week. I'd genuinely prefer 'Perfect' just staying there (as I expect it still would if it weren't going to ACR). Won't happen though... a massively underwhelming first new #1 of the year, it sounded ok on first listen but it's already got so old, it's just another lazy 'Love The Way You Lie' clone A bit mystifying that it's doing so well when I see nearly no one being positive or excited about it or Eminem in general at the moment.
I'm very excited about it and about revival

12. Sigrid - Strangers
'My Way' was played at the start of CBB so I hope it gets a boost
Omg, a 20 second advert for Sigrid currently shown during CBB! Hope it gives Strangers and DKMB an even bigger boost!
Camila rising like mad, at bloody last.
Loving the Eminem track, about team he had another no1.
so many songs have started slaying all at once i can't deal dhgfdk
Haha. I know why did people need Sigrid to win the Sound Of before all of a sudden Strangers is racing up the iTunes chart!!
10. Sigrid - Strangers
oh my GOD
That ad during Big Bro will def help - still need streaming help tho if it stays where it is it should enter the top 40 next Friday!
She’s got R1, R2, Capital and Apple/iTunes support but nothing from Spotify.
Well... it was top 50 for a while before she won Sound

Sigrid up to 6!
Pleased for Sigrid!
Strangers is my least favourite of her releases so far though, would be happy for a Plot Twist re-launch.
Hopefully she keeps her simple artistry and doesnt go the sex sells route.
4. Sigrid - Strangers!!
Sigrid now front page top hits!!
Strangers is her best for me personally. Pleased it looks to be a hit.
This boost for Sigrid! I can't believe it fingers crossed it can stay up there longer than a few days and can FINALLY get on some Spotify playlists
25. RAYE - Decline
133. RAYE x RAMZ - Decline
30. Dua Lipa - IDGAF

83. Ansel Elgort - Supernova
108. Carrie Underwood - The Champion (feat. Ludacris)
132. RAYE & Ramz - Decline (Remix)
Was expecting End Game to be higher after the video. Flop.
Same considering it’s got 2 of the current biggest artists out there
General public clearly not enjoying the song then, an Ed feature can only sell a poor song so much.
Tbf neither End Game nor IDGAF have had big video boosts yet, which is bizarre... but iirc, premiering videos on Fri-Sun always seem to be boosted less than if they prem'd middle of the week?
Not a fan of 'Strangers' or Sigrid tbh. Which is odd aa I feel like she is someone I should stan... but something leaves me feeling quite.. cold when I listen to her songs. 'Don't Kill My Vibe' was good though.
Both have had pretty solid video boosts imo End Game has no airplay yet either so I'd say it's fine?
Pretty sure End Game has gone from low or outside top 200 to top 40 and Dua went from top 75 to top 30 so both pretty decent!
Is End Game even playlisted on radio stations? Here radio is playing Gorgeous, yet to hear End Game
03. Sigrid - Strangers
But is she climbing on Spotify??
Pop hits do well all the time on iTunes, but become minor hits overall - like Screech's pop - because of Spotify and the majority of people using that. The popsters are still using iTunes, hence the big difference between iTunes and the real charts
yes she is also climbing on spotify, but will climb more when she's moved up on the playlist
Sigrid not top 200 on Spotify
What About Us was not a ‘minor’ hit. End of.
It wasn't huge, especially not as big as iTunes would have made us believe. I'm gonna hold off celebrating Sigrid breaking through till she breaks through on Spotify, like all relevant artists. ALL.
What About Us felt bigger than it was
Only to pop fans and itunes followers. In real life, it was minor. I hardly ever heard it, ever, and it made no waves on Spotify, like 70% of the market.
Ugh it was HUGE on radio
Radio LOOOVES its cannon fodder made for radio McDonald's music, but even so it wasn't on all the time and like I said I hardly ever heard it.
In the real world, from what I noticed it is a well-known song among people of all different age groups etc.
Yeah, maybe in Narnia.
What About Us was a massive hit, I really don't think there's any denying it, so can we PLEASE stop the constant circular arguments?
you must be either completely anti-social or deaf to have 'not heard What About Us much' - it's been EVERYWHERE being used in the background of talent shows and on the radio - and it also got to #9 on Spotify, so it's not like it did badly on there.
Kinda disappointed that 'Gorgeous' never really became a proper hit.
So why make a point when it's just your opinion rather than one garnered by facts?
lol people that argue they never hear certain songs on the radio
but actually never listen to the radio
What about us has been massive, only a person blinded by his personal hate for pink would say otherwise
there are lots of ways to see if a song is popular, itunes and spotify are very age-biased and particularly spotify only reflects a very particular demographic
but you can see you how big the song was cos then the album sold thousands and thousands, why? cos of what about us, it wouldn't have if the song had been a flop, it would have been a joanne otherwise
Im not even a fan of Pink but that song was massive. My wife who doesn't really listen to music even loved it.
Expect a huge boost for Jorja Smith soon!
Brits
Hope it boosts the new single, it's fantastic!
Awful performance from Jorja though
BRITS
15. Clean Bandit - I Miss You
31. Dua Lipa - New Rules
38. Jorja Smith x Stormzy - Let Me Down
42. Clean Bandit - Symphony
50. Ed Sheeran - Shape Of You
91. Dua Lipa - Be The One
Guessing Paloma has had 0 effect
Omg, Sigrid will be #2 soon!
Why is Sigrid so high?
Why is rise up top 15 on itunes again!??! 😂
It was on The Voice. Surely the first time anyone has sung that song on a talent show

That’s it enough of a boost to stop it going acr
Oooh Troye played on CBB... needs some form of promo to recover its drop!
Also is Taylor actually bothering in the uk don’t think she had any promo over here except the capital ball thing no wonder her singles are shameful flopping
22. Personal - HRVY
27. IDGAF - Dua Lipa
who the f*** is hrvy
Yeah what total bighead would use four or fewer characters as their pseudonym and NOTHING ELSE.
Where has the HRVY boost come from?
9. Keala Settle - This Is Me
Yasss queen, this was at 18 like a day or two ago! So hope this can go top 10 officially 💗
HRVY going to do something officially?
(on paper he looks and sounds like someone I'd want to bash over the head with a club but I actually really like it )
#88 - Sonz of a Loop Da Loop Era - Far Out
Why is this in the itunes chart, a couple of years old this song is! Is it on an advert? Great tune anyway!
EDIT: I remember it is on an advert recently with a fairground in it! And apparently its not just a couple of years old (I initially thought it was a 90s revival track from late 2013 as that was when it was added to itunes) but from 1991!
That new Dua Lipa song is definitely not to my taste btw. What a disappointment imo after New Rules
Can The Greatest Showman soundtrack occupy the whole itunes top 10 already please?
Wow at the boost for HRVY, that seems to have come out of nowhere! Personal is a decent song but I preferred his last track Talk To Ya. I've seen Personal bubbling at the bottom end of the iTunes top 100 for a while so the hit potential seems to be there.
Where's the official chart update today?
Seems a bit fishy to me RE HRVY
Sad News, Dolores O'Riordan of The Cranberries has died, R.I.P.
Expect we will see 1 or 2 Cranberries songs in the Top 100 (Linger being the most popular ?)
Oh I liked a couple of Cranberries songs - Dream To Me and Zombie.
Wonder what happened
Very sad about Dolores, sleep well.
Linger will no doubt be the chosen one in terms of charting the highest over the coming days.
That's sad news about Dolores. I would have thought 'Zombie' would be the most popular Cranberries song, especially with Eminem recently using it.
awful news, they had tons of brilliants songs, with Linger, Zombie, Dreams, Ode to my Family probably the most popular
Linger is my #1
I'd love to see 'Zombie' re-charting <3
Zombie will be the highest, all time classic!
Oh my god totally shocking news!!!!!!!!!!!
Very sad news. 'Zombie' is my favourite followed by 'Dreams'.
Very sad news. A few great tracks as already mentioned.
I'd imagine Eminem may push "In My Head" as next single now, and sooner rather than later.
Aw I hope Linger climbs as well. My favourite Cranberries song. Very sad to hear about her

15. Zombie - The Cranberries
25. Linger - The Cranberries
44. Dreams - The Cranberries
71. Ode to My Family - The Cranberries
97. Ode to My Family - The Cranberries
I just looked it up and found that they never had a top 10 hit (I knew 'Zombie' never made it but I thought they might have done so with one of their other songs, they do have two #13s and two #14s though). Looks like they're pretty much guaranteed to get 2 or 3 entries in the sales top 10 this week. Hope they can get at least one song into the official top 40.
(huge update for all of those songs btw, 'Linger' is not too far off being #1 combined now).
210. Editors - Magazine
Cranberries Update
2+23. Linger
5+13. Zombie
6+41. Dreams
69+99. Ode To My Family
Pleased Linger is highest, I thought Zombie had more or less overtaken it as their 'signature song' in the years since release.
They are one of those bands with three songs that are almost as well-known as each other though, as iTunes is showing right now.
All three are classics, Linger is beautiful and Dreams is so good, the Dario G cover Dream To Me is also one of my favourite trance songs.
I don't understand how Zombie only peaked at #14 when it was a massive #1/top 3 single all over Europe and Australia/New Zealand - I presume the subject matter made airplay/publicity a bit more challenging in this country. All three of those Cranberries songs deserve higher peaks.
now combined
1 River 1.00
2 Linger 0.90
3 Zombie 0.86
nice to see all this love for the Cranberries, always thought back then they were equally loved and hated, thats why Zombie wasn't bigger, I love it myself but it also ended up in a lot of worst song of the year/decade lists
+ they were also more album than single sellers
I had no idea that 'Linger' was ever their 'signature song' tbh, I've always known it as 'that other hit they had' and thought 'Zombie' was the main song they were known for.
for instance in the US, Linger is their only big hit, went to #8
but I think Zombie was never released as single in the US, a common strategy in the mid-90s by labels to sell more albums, many classics like Don't Speak they never charted
'Dreams' is their best song and the one I knew the most growing up, 'Linger' closely followed behind. I wasn't aware of 'Zombie' until I was a little older.
Linger was their breakthru hit in both UK and US, Dreams was the follow-up and by comparison did less chart-wise but it was also a post-album single
I'd say Zombie is their most iconic song and the song everyone knows and the song that made them huge everywhere in the world
but Zombie also had a lot of haters, as I was saying in another thread
Agreed about 'Zombie' being their signature hit. Perhaps it's just my personal experience, but I hear 'Zombie' all the time, whereas I don't think I've ever knowingly heard 'Linger'.
This Wolf Alice song always reminded me of Dreams on the instrumental .
I can understand why people are describing 'Zombie' as the iconic hit from The Cranberries but for me 'Linger' was the song that I remember them most for, it was their breakthrough hit, it went Top 10 in the US. I saw them live in 1994 at Shepherd's Bush Empire, Dolores had a unique voice for which both songs show off the uniqueness compared to some of their other more generic songs.
I thought 'Zombie' would be higher too, I've heard it a lot more on the radio in recent years and it is also their biggest song on streaming and YouTube. I suppose 'Linger' is doing slightly better because of its sadder tone.
oh Linger is now #1 combined
1 Linger .7612 + .2466 = 1.0088
2 River 1.0000
3 Zombie .5883 +.4064 = .9947
4 Dreams .5835 + .1271 = .71
5 Craig Cavid .65
well nice for Cranberries to have 1,3 & 4
Zombie vcirtually tied with Linger
and now Zombie takes the lead! 103.46% vs. 103.09% for Linger
Zombie's probably had a boost from some news articles (eg BBC News online) explaining what it's about
I think Linger has probably had more mainstream airplay than Zombie, whereas maybe Zombie has had lot of play from the rockier stations.
Who cares - they're both tunes.
It's a shame that iTunes doesn't carry as much weight as it used to and also the fact that the chart is now Fri-Thur instead of Sun-Sat otherwise these songs from The Cranberries could have been #1 contenders. I thought that I'd never heard their music but then when I typed the band's name on YouTube I saw the thumbnail for Zombie and realised that it looked familiar and once I listened to the song I realised that I heard it before during a TV programme about the 90's.
Being honest it's not the kind of music that I like but it would have been a good tribute for any of these songs to go to #1 and it's a terrible shame that Dolores passed away at only 46 years old
I think we can all agree it is a close call between these 2 songs and there is not much to choose in terms of popularity. They even originally peaked in the same #14 position (ignoring fact that Linger took a reissue to get Top 20). I do think they have held up well today, it may be a sign of low download sales but I think it does show how popular The Cranberries (and Dolores O'Riordan in particular) are and this popularity didn't always translate to high chart positions.
The Linger/Zombie thing is similar to The Gossip - ask anyone in the UK to name their most famous song and (if they've heard of them) they'll probably say Standing In The Way of Control, which peaked at #7 here. But in several countries it was 2009's Heavy Cross that was their one massive hit single, which only peaked low top 40 in the UK but top ten in many other places.
Doing a bit of research after my last post and the huge success of Zombie overseas only came several months after the UK release, in late 1994/early 1995 - in Australia it was Triple J's #1 song of the year in their Hot 100 poll. Normally if that happened a song would be re-released in the UK (like Sparks's 'When Do I Get To Sing My Way' which got reissued after it was randomly a big hit single in Germany) but it didn't seem to happen with Zombie. Happy that both it and Linger have done so well and amazing to see a song about the Northern Ireland troubles gaining so much audience.
I remember hearing Linger and Dreams on the radio a lot back in the 90s. Oddly, I had zero knowledge of "Zombie" until I scrolled through the most watched music videos on Youtube and saw it right up there.
'Zombie' was always my fave. 'Linger' is nice and 'Dreams' is really good too, but her voice is so unique and is to a very acquired taste. We had their album on today at work and after the first 4 tracks, it really started to get a bit too much for me/all the songs started sounding the same. But nice to see these make an impact, especially 'Dreams', as I thought that was forgotten about.
Such awful news though ofc.
Zombie's subject matter and video are, as brilliant as they are, very harrowing so Linger is a bit more appropriate as a tribute for various reasons, though I did always think Zombie was their signature song and was by far the one I've heard the most. Hopefully one of them can stay top 40 for Friday!
I was really under the impression that 'Zombie' was by far their most well-known, it's the one I always hear around (even though 'Linger' looks like a bigger hit at the time).
Love both though, 'Linger' is pretty up there with favourite songs.
Sigrid still #3 without The Cranberries, I’m really surprised at how well she’s doing. I thought she’d shoot up the chart for a day or two after the Sound of 2018 win but she’s still hanging around! Hit in the making
133. Editors - Magazine
566. Bleachers - Alfie's Song (Not So Typical Love Song)
Here in Finland Zombie is easily their signature song. It was so popular that No Need to Argue reached #1 on albums mainly because of it.
141. Mahmut Orhan - Feel (feat. Sena Sener)
^ what's finally brought this into the chart?
http://kworb.net/ww/
Zombie #1 worldwide though, I never realised they were so popular!
'The Chainsmokers' - "Sick Boy"!!!
Hope it blows up
pity the cranberries traclks are all in red now :/
Wonder how well The Chainsmokers will do?
Will be interesting to see how that Chainsmokers track does!
so a bunch of interesting new releases between now and Friday
Rudimental ft Jess Glyne/Macklemore
Chainsmokers
Kylie Minogue
Justin Timberlake
Troye Sivan
Cashmere Cat ft Major Lazer
Will be interesting to hear something else from the new JT album. Filthy wasn't that great, so hopefully he'll have something better coming out. Kylie will do well on iTunes for the first few days, but will flop on streaming sadly no matter how great the track is.
I expect Rudimental should go Top 20 at worst.
I’m sure the Rudimental x Jess Glynne collab will go top 10
Tinashe for top 500 tomorrow please
If Kylie can make the top 40 officially with the new single it will be a good outcome for her.
94. UB40 featuring Ali, Astro & Mickey - She Loves Me Now

Chainsmokers now at #190
Troye and Justin are both out tomorrow.
New George Ezra on Friday too according to Twitter...
It's turning into quite the week for new releases!
And yet nearly nothing interesting.
90. UB40 featuring Ali, Astro & Mickey - She Loves Me Now
104. The Chainsmokers - Sick Boy
245. Tracey Thorn - Queen

1146. Cashmere Cat, Major Lazer & Tory Lanez - Miss You
1467. Eels - The Deconstruction
Has someone knows why Tinashe's new single No Drama is on Spotify but can't be played? It was out WW and still... can't play it.
Seems to be working fine on Apple Music?
same, i cannot play it on spotify either, I can save it though, not sure what it means, that I will be able to play it later hwhen released?
JT new song Supplies is out and it's a masterpiece of a song and a video. I wish it was the lead, could have been huge!
JT new song and video are an absolute masterpiece, I'm in shock. Best middle 8 I've heard in years as well. What were his team thinking with Filthy being lead over this ffs.
Not sure how well 'Supplies' will do tbh. I'm here for it smashing though ofc. I can see it maybe being huge with Urban stations/American radio maybe.
Sorry but I'm in complete disagreement (right now) re: "Supplies" over "Filthy". The latter is much better.
114. Tinashe - No Drama (feat. Offset)
Top 100 please!!
'Supplies' is SO much more instant than 'Filthy', I can't believe they didn't go for that as the lead, it would have sailed to #1. If it does well (which I reckon it will) they might make them joint singles or something I'm thinking.
That Middle 8 is pretty cool but it sounds like he switched to a completely different song and then switched back
79. The Chainsmokers - Sick Boy
111. Tinashe - No Drama (feat. Offset)
216. Justin Timberlake - Supplies
What are you guys on about? Supplies is clearly a full single too. He's basically done an Ed Sheeran but on different weeks. If people like it better than Filthy, it will do better.
Maybe the label are disappointed with the reaction to Filthy so have panic released this and will give it a push. Or perhaps it was always the plan. But there's nothing stopping it from doing well.
03. Jason Derulo - Tip Toe (feat. French Montana)
12. Portugal. The Man - Feel It Still
70. The Chainsmokers - Sick Boy
85. Justin Timberlake - Supplies
109. Tinashe - No Drama (feat. Offset)
A full day out for The Chainsmokers and they're still not even close to the top 40? I know the song isn't super commercial but that is shocking.
Jason Derulo as high as number 3 wow! Also excited to see how Rudimental do- would love to see Jess have her 6th number one
20. Dua Lipa - IDGAF
64. Troye Sivan - The Other Side
67. The Chainsmokers - Sick Boy
75. Justin Timberlake - Supplies
114. Tinashe - No Drama (feat. Offset)
10. Portugal the Man. - Feel it Still
17. Dua Lipa - IDGAF
43. Troye Sivan - The Other Side
65. Justin Timberlake - Supplies
A bit off topic but does anyone else have problems with their laptop/computer when viewing the Official Charts Company website? whenever I view that website my computer or laptop always freezes and when I look at task manager I see that the disk and/or CPU % goes up to 100% or near that.
Don't know how long this has been the case but I've just noticed the solo version of 'Perfect' is now the highest version again. Quite surprised that the Andrea Bocelli version is actually still hanging around, not all that far behind the Beyoncé version! (The 3 versions currently at #21, #25 and #34).
The OCC website is indeed terrible, always freezes
11. Portugal. The Man - Feel It Still
18. Dua Lipa - IDGAF
43. Troye Sivan - The Good Side
66. Justin Timberlake - Supplies
70. The Chainsmokers - Sick Boy
78. SZA & Calvin Harris - The Weekend (Funk Wav Remix)
128. Tinashe - No Drama (feat. Offset)
217. The Wombats - Cheetah Tongue
307. Eels - The Deconstruction
648. Dierks Bentley - Woman, Amen
649. Young Fathers - In My View
Sigrid still top 5 on iTunes! Imagine if it had the streaming support!?
And she’s on Graham Norton tomorrow, #1 incoming!
The OCC's website is a nightmare. Bloody riddled with pop-up adverts and autoplay videos. I can't even look at it on my phone.
