Taylor Momsen revealed on Instagram that the band was working on their fourth studio album with Matt Cameron of Pearl Jam and Soundgarden last year and on November 29, Momsen revealed that the band's new album was titled 'Death by Rock and Roll'. The album will be released in 2020

'Death by Rock and Roll' is also the name of the lead single from the album out on 15th May! Lucky me in Australia gets to hear it first and it is INCREDIBLE. The first line is "Jenny died of suicide with a candle burnin' in her eye" which is either a huge coincidence or a horrific nod to her character in Gossip Girl *.*

I'm really liking this on first listen though it's the most rock I've heard a new release sound in years

The album is out on February 12th! And second single '25' came out yesterday:

Tracklisting:

1. Death By Rock And Roll
2. Only Love Can Save Me Now (feat. Kim Thayil and Matt Cameron)
3. And So It Went (feat. Tom Morello)
4. 25
5. My Bones
6. Got So High
7. Broomsticks
8. Witches Burn
9. Standing at the Wall
10. Turning Gold
11. Rock and Roll Heaven
12. Harley Darling

For the uninitiated Kim Thayil was in Soundgarden, Matt Cameron is in Peal Jam and Tom Morello is in Rage Against the Machine!

This must have been lost in the pandemic cancellations as I forgot about the first single and now the second plus album is coming quite quickly (well nov-feb is quite quick to me in music terms because of the Xmas period stalling everyone for a month)

The album is out today!

The biggest standout for me (minus 'And So It Went' of course) was the glorious 'Standing at the Wall', Taylor has never sounded better wub.gif That immediately followed by the sitar intro of the next song was a memorable back-to-back *.* my biggest gripe is that 'Broomsticks' isn't a full song as that is so interesting sonically!

The side album 'Other Worlds' is out now... much more acoustic music (the sound I prefer from them). They missed a trick not putting 'Heart' on this imo.

Side note - i'm off to see them in Brixton tomorrow!

Fantastic show last night except after each song the stage would black out & noone said anything so there was like a 60 second silence after every song.
