Tijana Bogićević - In Too Deep

Posted by: Ryan. 25th November 2016, 10:13 PM

News from Serbia is that financial difficulties at RTS are very much a thing of the past with their upcoming entertainment season being their most expensive yet! As a result, various national selection processes for Eurovision are being discussed therefore a return to a televised selection is very much a possibility:

I thought Sanja was such a fantastic and inspired choice - fantastic vocalist, fantastic song and an absolutely fantastic personality. Bojana was a great participant too even if her song was a bit more Eurovision-by-numbers - there's no denying the change into the dance anthem at the end created one of the best audience reactions in the past few years. Nevertheless, Serbia were a Eurovision superpower for their first few years in it independently but they've tailed off in both Eurovision and Junior Eurovision - I thought Sanja would put them back on track and make it two consecutive top 10s but she was criminally underrated by the juries.

Hopefully someone unknown again, Sanja was the least played act in history I believe, I haven't heard her in any mall or at any radio sad.gif

Serbia have just confirmed that they're going with some woman called Tijana Bogičević. Going by the list of names involved in the composition of the song I'm guessing we should expect some Swedish involvement in this too.

She's such an unknown that she doesn't even have a Wikipedia page!

Indeed one of those songwriters was behind 'If Love Was A Crime' last year *.*

Called In Too Deep and seems to be an uptempo dance song!

For those unaware, reliable insider gossip on ESCForum suggests this song was originally given to Macedonia for Jana. Serbia also heard the song and decided they wanted it as well, and either the writers gave Serbia priority or Macedonia sold the song on for extra money - the latter seems most likely. It'll be interesting to see if Macedonia have passed up on a great result by selling this on.

Macedonia have reportedly been saddled with a jazz back-up entry that was potentially going to be Poli's entry for Bulgaria last year until they settled on If Love Was A Crime.

Oooh I am intrigued about that, sounds like it's got the potential to be truly EPIC!

those last few selected songs have the WINNER in their midst don't they *.*

Ooh that sounds really great! It would be fab if someone who hasn't won in a while or ever could do it, I mean Italy hasn't since like 1992 (no thanks to the break) but Serbia wold be good too. I do feel like with Italy seemingly the only contender atm, something random will pop out of nowhere like Conchita did in 2014.

In the midst of national final CHAOS last night I forgot to say that while I like this, Macedonia have the better entry so if that rumour about Serbia pinching their song was true then lucky escape tbh!

Yeah I listened last night and had the exact same thoughts, Macedonia done good.

This has REALLY hit me, I think I prefer it to Macedonia actually now. Both are fab though!
