It's been over two years since she last performed as part of Girls Aloud - but Nadine Coyle has just received her final pay cheque.

This follows new documents lodged with Companies House in London showing that the five band members - Nadine, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Nicola Roberts, Sarah Harding and Kimberley Walsh - have shared in a windfall of over £1.2m.

The group's Tapeview Ltd company was voluntarily wound up last year as the members sought to cash in on their worldwide success.

The band split up in 2013 after a hugely successful 10-year reunion album and arena tour.

During their time together, Girls Aloud was officially the most successful UK girl band in history. They sold four million albums and 4.3m singles including number ones with the award-winning The Promise and Sound Of The Underground.

As a result of the winding-up, Nadine and the other band members have each received £243,574 after their final finances were settled. The five resigned as directors of the company last month.

Girls Aloud announced their final split in March 2013 on the final night of a smash hit reunion tour.

Nadine - a mother-of-one who is based in America - attracted anger from her bandmates when she spoke in public about her opposition to splitting up soon afterwards.

After the final performance in Liverpool, the Northern Ireland singer tweeted: "You should know by now I had no part in any of this split business. I couldn't stop them. I had the best time & want to keep going."

This was disputed by her bandmates, who said she was involved in the final decision to call it a day.

The Derry woman made a fortune during her time with Girls Aloud, which was formed as part of a reality television show in 2002.

Up until two years ago she was featured on the Sunday Times Rich List as one of the wealthiest young performers in the UK, having amassed £6m.

She ran into tax problems in the US, however, over a bar she bought for her parents, Niall and Lilian Coyle, in Malibu. The beach pub, called Nadine's Irish Mist, was facing unpaid bills of $100,000, which have since been settled.

While Nadine became a mother to a baby girl since splitting with Girls Aloud, she also been busy touring with Irish dance legend Michael Flatley on his Dangerous Games stage show.

Profile

Nadine Coyle (29) was born and raised in Derry before finding fame in the UK on Popstars: The Rivals in 2002. She won a place in Girls Aloud, a five-piece that went on to become the most successful girl band in UK chart history. The band split in 2013 after a 10-year reunion tour. Nadine is based in California and is engaged to an American football star. They have a one-year-old daughter, Anaíya.
