Looks like One Direction are heading for one big mighty fall, Charlie Puth releases his new single 'Marvin Gaye' sighting his sights at the #1 spot of the singles chart for the second time this yeat, collaborating with Meghan Trainor. Talking of collaborations there are 2 further new releases, firstly, Rita Ora with her brand new single titled 'Body On Me' collaborating with Chris Brown and secondly, Tough Love releasing their new track 'Pony (Jump On It)' another collaboration this time with Ginuwine, vying for a top 40 position, not forgetting Selena Gomez climbing further up the chart with 'Good For You' collaborating with A$AP Rocky and Galantis with 'Peanut Butter Jelly'.

After 16 years since his last studio album Dr. Dre releases his final album 'Compton', this has #1 written all over it, the album can't really miss. Further new album releases this week come from Frank Turner 'Positive Songs For Negative People', Don Broca 'Automatic' and Julio Bashmore 'Knockin' Boots' all setting their sights for a top 40 entry.

I second that, they're fantastic! Really colour up the thread!

Kind of :/ that 'Marvin Gaye' is easily going to be #1, but it was expected since it caters perfectly to Capital and Heart audiences. Not sure what releases are coming up, but hopefully it can spend as little time at the top of the charts as possible.

Thanks for the banner love guys heart.gif based them off the Friday Chart Show Thread banner but it's not quite as advanced heehee.gif

Hoping Rita can make the top 10 this week but expecting low top 20 for now and a climb later with airplay/video. Charlie being #1 is good news as far as I'm concerned and Meghan claiming another #1 is brilliant biggrin.gif

expecting around 100k for Charlie Puth this week which would be good. liking the song but would rather it not be unavoidably massive like See You Again (which sold closer to 200k on its first full week)

Somehow I don't see 100k for Charlie Puth. Pre-orders were like at 10k, the lead in iTunes is 2:1, and Calvin Harris (who is #2 at the moment) sold 50k last week including a huge chunk of streaming.

So 10k pre-orders + 15-20k streaming (at most for the first week) + 60-70k of sales might push it to 100k but that most probably that won't be enough.

Marvin Gaye is guaranteed number 1 now, Meghan Trainor has had such a strong start to her chart career in the UK and has registered a few hits now and her album has and continues to do well. Boring week on new releases in the albums with Dr Dre also looking guaranteed for number 1. I am watching the Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith battle closely in the album chart as both are in the running for best selling album of the year, sales are so close between both but I am behind team Ed.

Pleased to see Charlie & Meghan heading to #1. I know it's going to be one of those records that everyone is fed up of in six months' time but I love it and I'm pleased to see it's doing well.

Rita is slipping, down to 17. Imagine how it would be doing without Chris Brown (probably about 8).

I am expecting deluxe releases from both Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran, Ed done it with his wonderful Plus album and if it happens they will boost sales. Both acts have remixed singles, featured singles etc to add that are part of the era's for each.

I hope they won't release deluxe issues of both. Both artists are very overrated and getting fed up with them clogging the top10. They need to make way for some different acts.
