Absolutely loved this. Great songs, loved the story. Hope the songs continue to climb the charts. Keala is a hell of a singer!

I also loved this. Story was a bit all over the place but it didn't matter as the core of it was there! The cast were great! Especially Zendaya! She really shines. Can't wait for her to bag her first leading position in a movie.

All the songs sound euphoric to me. There's a sense of empowerment to every one of them. 'Come Alive' grinds a LITTLE bit, but only coz it sounds a little TOO modern (literally the first bridge is Katy's 'Firework', no? heehee.gif) so it was kinda jarring seeing it haha.

But so much fun and such an absolute joy to watch!

This has had the smallest ever 2nd weekend drop in America for a film playing in +3,000 theatres cheer.gif

I've had the soundtrack on repeat since yesterday <3

I think think this is my top 5 songs from the film atm:
1) This Is Me (obviously kink.gif)
2) Rewrite The Stars
3) Come Alive
4) The Other Side
5) The Greatest Show

To be honest, every track on the soundtrack is great. 'Come Alive' was probably my least favourite originally but I liked it a lot more within the film.

Yeah it's def all killer no filler for me too.

But my fave is 'From Now On'. That "YES" that Hugh yells is such a MOMENT.

BUT 'This Is Me' is a ready made radio smash. wub.gif

My Top 5:
01. From Now On
02. This Is Me
03. Rewrite the Stars
04. The Greatest Showman
05. Never Enough

Zac Efron can't act his way out of a wet paper bag and he looks like a walking hemmeroid but guy can belt out a tune. Rewite The Stars is fab. From Now On is a MOMENT though. Might track the movie down, soundtrack alone makes it worth the effort.

No song felt shoe-horned in or filler. Each song also perfectly tells each moment of the story. The music and choregraphy really are incredible. Add to that Hugh being born to play his part and loving every minute and everyone pulling their weight and then some it really is a stellar movie.

I keep thinking the criticism is so unjust, reading articles that say things like it didn't delve into Barnum's backstory or true character annoy me so much. Or the more serious racial side of things that was only touched upon briefly should have bee explored more. Why? Why does it need to be gritty or have those depth, cant it just be fun and brilliant?

Really had a lovely time watching this - there were some really nice scenes and I warmed to all of the characters massively too. As Jonjo says, Zendaya is so charismatic and watchable so I can't wait for her to properly transition to the big movie star she deserves to be. Keala Settle was my other big highlight from the film - THOSE VOCALS (especially in "This Is Me" which is completely amazing *.*) are incredible.

Wouldn't say it's one of my all-time favourite musicals but it was very enjoyable and all of the songs were very good too - I can imagine a stage show version of this being completely amazing!! wub.gif

My top 5 are:

1) This is Me
2) A Million Dreams (I prefer the film version when the girl sings too though)
3) Re Write the Stars (Though I hate the opening line, it reminds me of a 1D song)
4) Never Enoigh
5) The Greatest Show (For the Zendaya, Keala and Zac parts)

Saw this at the weekend just gone and loved it, from start to finish it had my attention even with little kids getting restless and going to toilet quite a few times, I hadn't realised it was a PG or I wouldn't of chosen a Sunday afternoon showing to go to lol.

Loved all the songs, had the soundtrack on repeat since 'This Is Me' was just magic

Thats amazing news. It also just proves what strong word of mouth can do for a film! The critics were a bit too harsh, but I'm so pleased to see them be proven wrong! wub.gif

I haven’t seen it yet but I was really rooting for this to climb to #1 this week - sometimes it is okay to just be a barrel load of fun and everyone I know who has seen it has loved it.

That's a really fantastic result and I'm so pleased to see it grab a week at #1. Is it some kind of record to make #1 for the first time in the sixth week? I haven't followed the box office long enough to be sure but I can't imagine it's an easy thing to pull off laugh.gif (being at #1 in week 6 at all sounds tough)

Might ask if my parents have seen it yet and whether they'd be interested when visiting this weekend, I wouldn't mind watching it a second time

Fox are claiming it is the first time ever a film has made #1 in the sixth week so looks like you were right Jahq!
