ARIANA!! <3 <3
Now for a 40p price reduction on iTunes and lets see it storm the iTunes top 10! *.*
Glad for Walk The Moon, too! Have they pushed their release back a week? Why weren't they added last week with Natalie if it's the same release date? (I get that they add songs late a lot, but WTM is very R1 friendly!)
YAY for 'One Last Time' Hope it can keep going as it is!
Also yay for Walk The Moon, pretty surprised Rixton are still in a position to get support though.
A$AP gettin playlisted
Yes for Ariana
Also happy Fetty Wap & Natalie La Rose climbing.
Massive no at OMI being removed without getting A-list.
Rixton lolz
Circa Waves, DJ Fresh & Adam F, Rudimental, SOAK , Walk The Moon, We Are The Ocean for me this week
Haven't heard the new A$AP track yet and same with Mura Masa so need to hear them before making judgement on them
@ Rod Stewart getting that R1 Playlist spot good on him
New additions pretty much as expected this week, was pretty sure they would playlist Ariana & Walk The Moon. Early add for Rudimental as expected too.
Who'd have thought Fetty Wap would be A-listed though!
eww at Rixton's existence being prolonged by Radio 1. no thank you.
yay for DJ Fresh, Ariana and Rudimental on the playlist though. and Rod Stewart once again proving that R1 aren't ageist *.*.*
The playlisting for OMI has been incredibly bizarre! It was looking set to be a massive hit from the word go and isn't exactly something Radio 1 would usually get behind, but only B-listing, especially after hitting number 1? Strange. (Although welcomed in my books )
Also, I don't know why people are at all surprised at Rixton being added, both their previous two singles were A-listed, and still get played fairly regularly.
If Rixton were a girl group rather than a boy group I bet they wouldn't still be playlsited.
Great for Ariana. I wonder if they would have playlsited OLT had she not shot into the top 40 already?
Radio 1 must really hate Cheerleader
Also Radio 1 dj's need to shut up more often and play more music. 15 years ago more a less this was the playlist:

Sia on the Radio 1 playlist 15 years ago! *.*
Exactly, the reason why the playlist is so harsh these days is because it's about half as big. I mean, look at the diversity there!
Thanks Euphorique! Some classic dance tunes in there
Stop trying to make Rixton happen. It's not going to happen (hopefully please)
Also yay for Ariana on a very disappointing playlist
Interesting how every song on the A-list 15 years ago was a top 10 hit (unless I missed any), nothing like that nowadays.
the charts were a lot faster back then and I think we know why...
would be great if the R1 could be bigger but the mass amount of talking on the station is one of its selling points above stations like Capital/Heart which seem to just play music with barely any talking (but they do have adverts)
If only I could just go back in time right now and just listen to all that 2000 music!! My favourite year for music, no wonder we had so many weeks of 12+ new entries with the playlist that varied!
Nothing of interest this week...so it's official theyre snubbing Martin Garrix for the first time
The turnout of 2000 was huge at the top, but the amount of new entries in the top10/40 was pretty regular. Nothing too crazy like 1997. It had a nice balance.
The Radio 1 playlist in the early 2000s had a very rhythmic centred playlist. I think it tried to go after Atlantic 252's new "rhythm and dance" sound.
Mura Masa making the INMWT list! *.* Was nearly going to be my BJSC entry this month before I found out randomfurlong was sending one of his other songs. Dodged a bullet of ~cheapness~ there I guess.
Back in 2000 I would never have imagined that Sia would be the most relevant artist left of all of those on that playlist. I always felt like her success was over before it really began...until Titanium.
YASSSSS for Walk The Moon etc...
Hurrah for the addition of DJ Fresh & Rudimental this week!
Walk the Moon!
lol at Radio 1 playlisting Rixton, I expect their new single to easily miss the top 20 and a performance similar to Conor Mayanrd.
Why wont they playlist 'Dear Future Husband'. It's going to miss the top 10 now.
Seeing Sia being played on radio one 15 years ago shocks me to the core for some reason. Despite the fact I've listened to a lot of her older music and thoroughly enjoyed it it's so strange to see she was current all those years ago.
I'm not Cheerleader's biggest fan but the BBC's refusal to put it on their A-list confuses me especially when it's been number one for two weeks and is set for a long run in the top ten on top of that.
Stranely radio 2 played it too, they must think its had enough support combined.
Anyone know if Sia Breath Me (the song played at the end of the 6 Feet under Finale) was playlised?
I'm currently in the middle of doing 2000 on my girl group top 40 hits thread so seeing that playlist is bringing it all back in relation to some of the songs I've reviewed this week! It definitely shows that Radio 1 are a LOT less eclectic than they used to be.
I find it funny now that Sia is made out to be this massive deal these days when honestly, I'd take 'Taken for Granted' or any of the stuff she did on the first Zero 7 album over any of her stuff these days.
Good to see Ella Eyre getting a lot of support though. To quote Jameela Jamil, I'm not kissing bum but she was amazing on Olly's tour and I hope she'll get a top 10 with this new single of hers.
* Rudimental 'Never Let You Go'!!
