I love both and have just played them back to back. Prefer x though as think there are more stronger tracks.

+ by MILES. x is full of awfulness but + has brill tracks like Lego House & You Need Me.

The upcoming one I expect will be somewhere in the middle.

The debut has some strong tracks ("Give Me Love" in particular was incredible when I saw him do it live) but x has better singles and probably my favourite two songs from him in "Photograph" & "Afire Love" wub.gif

I'm also a fan of both but 'x' is definitely my favourite, it has higher highs (Don't and Nina are two of his best tracks for me) and also flows much better, not one dud on it at all. I think he'll deliver with ÷ too but Castle on the Hill is one of his weakest tracks in years for me so I'm a little worried it's going to be a dip in quality from 'x' sad.gif

I love both, but x is more consistent with higher highs, and I go back to it more. Sing is his best for me, but Don't, Nina, I See Fire and Thinking Out Loud especially really stands out on x.

This is actually quite hard. thinking.gif

I think they're similar in being about 70% great, so both in need of a trimming down, along with a reshuffle to aid their flows~ (or perhaps it's just that I can only take Ed in small-ish doses - I guess time will tell with this next release ;o).

Would agree with the majority so far that 'x' has the higher highs so I guess that edges it. 'Runaway', 'Nina' (great to see that's such a standout for others <3), and 'Afire Love' are stellar album tracks, and I'd say I'm a fan of all the singles to varying degrees. I just find the full album disjointed so wouldn't think to revisit.

(Unrelated shout-out to 'I See Fire', which remains his peak wub.gif)

Both a great album, and both have highs, but, like others i agree, X has more high's than +.

x by far! Not heard + in a long time but I wasn't massively fussed beyond a few songs, whereas I've revisited x many times.
