I know the spice girls are great and everything but do they really have enough songs for a greatest hits?? They've only released TEN singles, ok two of them were double A sides so i guess that's 12 songs, but that's still selling the fans a bit short... unless they were to record a few new songs for it?

Well their 1980s equivalents' Duran Duran reformed their classic line up in 2002 after a 17 year break, so stranger things have happened.
I reckon the Spice Girls are waiting for Wembley Stadium to re-open. As the that is the nearest that Posh Spice's husband is likely to get to playing again at Wembley. |

Spices opt out against Westlife, Album release pushed back according to the sun
SOURCE: THE SUN IT was all set to be the chart battle of the year. On Tuesday night, the SPICE GIRLS announced to industry execs that they were going to release their greatest hits album on November 5. Then yesterday WESTLIFE declared they too planned to put out their album on the same day. But now POSH, SCARY, GINGER, BABY and SPORTY have sensationally chickened out of the chart clash and put back their album release to November 12. The girls, or should that be ladies, have obviously not forgotten the hammering they got in the charts in November 2000 when they last went head-to-head with the Irish crooners. The Loife album, Coast To Coast, sold 234,000 in the first week, compared with 71,000 for the Spice Girls’ Forever album. I reckon the lads purposely waited for the reunited Spices to announce the release date this time round so they could go into battle and beat them again. And the girls’ team were obviously worried enough to change the date to avoid a potential humiliation. It would have been a tough one to call, however. The advantage the girls have this time is the nostalgia surrounding their reunion tour. The album Forever came after GERI HALLIWELL had quit the band and the songs simply weren’t good enough. It’s a different story this time round though — the girls have a greatest hits with two new songs on it. I wonder if the mischievous Westlife team will fancy putting their album back to November 12 to take on the Spice Girls? Watch this space . . . MEANWHILE the Spice Girls have added two UK dates to their tour due to “phenomenal public demand”. Tickets for January 15 and 16 will go on sale from 10am on Saturday. The girls will play the concerts at London’s O2 Arena after the 12 original shows sold out through their website. December 15 sold out in 38 seconds — and tickets went on eBay for up to £750. Scary, Sporty, Ginger, Posh and Baby Spice launch their world tour in Canada on December 2. This post has been edited by Jay ☆: Sep 7 2017, 05:07 PM |

Seriously SG would have beaten WL this time I'm sure. But I think it's beter they pushed it back till the 12th Nov - it gives them more time to add extra songs !!

I think a battle would have been good.
Spice Girls would have won easily but it would have been more promo and they would have sold even more that week |

It would've been the same thing as last year unfortunately, when Westlife beat Oasis, U2 and the Beatles to #1.

It's best they pushed it back. If Westlife beat them it would be awful.
