How do you lot even remember all of these things that have happened concerning Jameela?

The Vamps

The Vamps sampled Simon & Garfunkel's song Cecilia for their fifth single Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart), but Jameela had other ideas for the title. She referred to the song as being called Celine on the week it first charted!

Popcaan

The next and second-to-last example of Jameela not being able to pronounce something! Jameela failed to pronounce Popcaan's name correctly when Melissa Steel's debut hit Kisses For Breakfast was charting. She instead pronounced it as "Popcorn"!

And in true Jameela style, here's your 40 through to 31!

31. Popcorn = Popcaan
32. The Vamps’ new single Celine
33. P!nk and Nate from fun.
34. Singing Changing when the chart update 10-2 wouldn’t work.
35. Rather Be: “this was #1 for four weeks before being knocked off by Sam Smith's Money On My Mind”
36. “this young boy [Ed Sheeran] has so much money, I think he should give some of it to me”
37. Ghost - “it really is fantastic, I’m not kissing bum!”
38. “Lillywood is not one person”
39. Teen Awards performers
40. Armin Van Buuren and Trevor

More tomorrow! biggrin.gif

Or that's why we don't love her.

We only put up with her because she is still a million times better than her predecessor

Speak for yourself, many of us love Jameela tongue.gif I do think she's good at presenting the chart and this countdown is of course done in good humour!

I adore her. I think she's very entertaining, just what's needed in ANY presenter, surely (it's not like she's presenting a documentary or something). And with this many iconic moments, she's not perfect but whatevs.

Exactly. At least she shows some interest in the chart so the show centres on the chart rather than the presenter. Yes, some of her facts get a bit repetitive because some songs spend so long in the chart but that's not her fault. Besides, most listeners are not chart geeks like us so they probably don't notice it quite as much as we do.

Totally agree with both posts above - the show isn't catered solely to chart geeks and someone like Jameela with a good personality and sense of humour is needed, especially with Radio 1 wanting to attract a younger audience!

She once randomly announced on twitter - 'Oh piss off Flo Rida' which I thought was hilarious!

She also had the on air classic of calling "How I Feel" the song where he 'ruins...I mean samples' Nina Simone laugh.gif

I still don't know how to pronounce Nate Ruess, can't even remember how it's spelled without checking! As for Armin & Trevor, I'm sure I'd be the opposite of Jameela, being able to introduce Trevor Guthrie with ease but having to shorten Armin van Buuren to just Armin laugh.gif

To be quite fair to Jameela, as much as she has her regular slip ups and repeats facts ad infinitum - she's actually fairly competent at presenting this for the most part and comes across relatively likeable. None of which could be said about the person she took over from. sleep.gif

Zak Abel

Gorgon City's most recent single entered the charts the other month, with Jameela, as she sometimes does, letting us all know that someone, Zak Abel in this case, is FIT or HOT. In all honesty, I can't say she was wrong this time (hence the inclusion of the video above, you can all see for yourself x), but Zak evidently found it amusing and decided to reply to Jameela!

Zak Abel ‏@ZakAbel
@jameelajamil thanks for the kind words! Never too young... Or old ... wink.gif

Jameela Jamil ‏@jameelajamil
@ZakAbel oh bollocks. You're not supposed to be listening when people are having a perve.

Will Heard

Will Heard achieved a top 3 hit last year on the dance track Sonnentanz (Sun Don't Shine), as the featured artist for Klangkarussell. Jameela showed her appreciation for Will week-in, week-out, by stating how INSANE his voice is every week!
