Really hoping for a decent result this time around! I enjoyed many of the throwbacks though.

Ace of Base, Tilly and The Wall or Aqua are who think could win.
Not sure about mine. Could easily be near the bottom but I would like to be pleasantly surprised! |

Before I start, I will say I really enjoyed this edition and you all did very well with finding some really obscure gems that weren't cheap. It ended up being very close at the top and I'm pleased to see it, because last time I hosted this, while I enjoyed it, a cheap song that should've been vetoed won by a landslide, it just makes it all the more fun when you're not sure what's going to happen!
I will be revealing the votes in chronological order of year of release, this turned out to have some wonderful twists and turns throughout the results so I hope you enjoy. Each of the votes are hidden in the pop culture moments listed in the voting thread. Songs will show up once they have points. I purposefully kept the participants and voters list a secret for maximum mystery, so I hope that some of these picks can surprise you! Starting us off then we go right back to 1967 in the summer of love where one of the most famous album covers ever was released... |

Can I just also say, I’m glad the voting period was as long as it was. It meant I could enter! I was away most of August so I’m glad I got the chance to squeeze my results in before it closed!
I wasn’t able to do BJSC because of the deadlines last month and I had FOMO so this bridged the gap for me amazingly! Thanks for hosting |

^ you timed it well to miss BJSC tbf as this contest has a 12 minute song in the final (such a thing will inevitably happen again some other time but you're still yet to experience it )

Judith Durham - The Olive Tree - Jade So it was Jade who sent the oldest song in the contest, from the sadly recently deceased lead singer of the Seekers, Judith Durham. A lovely choice and emotional song to listen to, I would give you a few facts here, but Jade has kindly done that for me QUOTE Good evening all, First of all, thank you Chez for your awesome hosting - loved the layout of the voting thread! It turns out that my image was my 2nd favourite album of all time - 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band', so that was pretty good going indeed my entry is from 1967, year of the legendary summer of love! On SyncTube it was pointed out that this entry is the oldest in the contest, so that is rather cool *.* I chose this opportunity to showcase the late, great, Judith Durham <3 I stumbled across this song in about 2014 I reckon, while in the midst of listening to every top 40 hit of the 60s (...yes I've always loved a musical project and no I didn't quite finish it yet lol but got quite far) - and I was immediately taken in by her stunning vocal performance, the hopeful lyrics and those simply gorgeous strings. 'The Carnival Is Over' and 'I'll Never Find Another You' were both #1 hits for The Seekers, the group that Judith was lead singer for, but 'The Olive Tree' was a very minor solo hit (peaked somewhere in the 30s) so this felt like the perfect opportunity to unleash it, off the back of the sad news recently. I have no idea how this will do but hopefully, others will find her voice as beautiful as I do, may it always live on. "I long to share a world of sweet contentment there" <3 anyway, now on to my own votes after feeling compelled to write about Judith at this late hour ;o 12 Ace Of Base - Happy Nation 10 Exposé - Point of No Return 08 Killer - Liar 07 Daryl Hall - Dreamtime 06 Damaris - Tusuykusun 05 Clout - Save Me 04 Jane Child - Don't Wanna Fall in Love 03 Mariya Takeuchi - Plastic Love 02 The Asteroids Galaxy Tour - Around the Bend 01 Tilly And The Wall - Beat Control xx Vanessa Paradis - Be My Baby xx Goldfinger - Superman xx Sister Sway - Until You Saved My Life xx Michelle McManus - Emotional - I am not worthy x xx Emma Pollock - Adrenaline 12 Ace Of Base - Happy Nation 10 Exposé - Point of No Return 08 Killer - Liar 07 Daryl Hall - Dreamtime 06 Damaris - Tusuykusun 05 Clout - Save Me 04 Jane Child - Don't Wanna Fall in Love 03 Mariya Takeuchi - Plastic Love 02 The Asteroids Galaxy Tour - Around the Bend 01 Tilly And The Wall - Beat Control So, Ace of Base are our first leaders of the night, hotly tipped to win, will they stay like this by the end of the night? A further great set of votes here, though no Michelle, Jade? How could you </3 Our next set of votes are in 1976 where a hit movie turned a struggling boxer into a worldwide icon ;o |

I must admit I really missed not having Yobnedorica in this BJSC final as I’m sure they would have been a fan of my entry and I might need their points to achieve the new peaks everyone is predicting for me!
Please check it out sometime though, link in my signature! |

sorry for stepping on your toes there Chez. I should've known you would have an idea up your sleeve for the presentation. I just felt compelled to write some words as it was quite a special entry for me, even if it clicks for nobody else I'm really glad I sent it. <3 so yeah... hoping my 12 points can win the whole thing ;o
