Top 100 for the 7th September 2019
Pete's Chart Commentary Another quite dull week for the upper end of the chart as the Top 3 all stay where they are, Sun Is Shining holding up better than I thought it would. Walk Off the Earth climb into the Top 10, as does Summer Luv, the climb of the week. New entries include another wacky song from Russian outfit Little Big, and new tracks from Jax Jones and The Sherlocks. The bottom end of the chart looked rather stale so I stuck in a Taylor Swift song as well to make it look a bit more exciting. 1 [1] Cavetown - Home (35-19-10-6-3-1-1-) 2 [2] Lost Frequencies - Sun Is Shining (25-1-2-2-) 3 [3] Julian Lamadrid - Mess (7-3-3-) 4 [6] Keane - Love Too Much (17-6-4-) 5 [5] AURORA - The Seed (1-1-1-1-2-2-2-5-5-5-) 6 [4] The Makemakes - The Beach (18-7-5-5-4-4-4-6-) 7 [11] Walk Off the Earth - I'll Be There (11-7-) 8 [7] Badflower - Promise Me (17-7-7-6-6-5-6-7-5-6-7-8-) 9 [34] Whethan & The Knocks - Summer Luv (ft. I definitely do like their new songs, but I'd have to disagree with you on it being 'some of their best stuff' because I think it's not that impressive compared to all of their previous albums! Maybe not, but it's definitely up there for me - some of their older stuff will always have the nostalgia but putting that aside this is a very good comeback. Hello Pete! Nice to see "Truth Hurts" debuting (not as good as "Juice", but it's great!) and the re-entry for "Hypersonic Missiles" (I'm excited for his album!). Great chart! Glad you like these ones - Truth Hurts just clicked with me this week, an absolute tune - thanks Sergej! Great to see Keane get their second top ten single this year here! Interesting to see Drab Majesty continue to climb too, another good BJSC winner. My favourite of your new entries this week is from The Divine Comedy (from the similarly great single National Express), the music video for Queuejumper is brilliant. Nice chart! Queuejumper is a brill song, I've not heard too much of his stuff from the new era but this one is incredibly catchy - thanks coi! |

Hey Pete!
I gave that Keane track a listen and you're right it's certainly not bland - for me it still didn't compare to their old stuff though. Not too keen on that Jacques song, it's probably my least favourite Jax Jones song to date. I'm still quite enjoying Harder though and the Ella Henderson one's not bad. Heard the Jack Savoretti & Mika track too recently, quite liking that! It's a shame Mika's success dropped off so quickly after his first couple of eras, he's a pretty talented guy. |

Hi Pete!
Nice number one just popped it in my itunes basket, and good to see Keane doing so well, & the Makemakes still top 10. Fab runs for the Kaisers and Avicii tracks that also did well in my charts. Loads I need to check out in your chart, on guest vocals alone I rate Alex Clare & Bryn Christopher as singers, then there's old faves like Divine Comedy...! cheers! |
