Ed Sheeran storms to the top of the chart, moving 11-01 with his third official single from divide, Galway Girl. In doing so he also scoops a whopping 140,000 points this week, the highest for any song this year. It becomes Sheeran's 6th chart topper following, his previous chart toppers include; Drunk (2012); Everything Has Changed (with Taylor Swift, 2013); Sing (2014); Thinking Out Loud (2014); Castle On The Hill (2016). He also see's a resurgence with two of his other tracks this week, as Shape continues to rebound 5-4 (74,000) and Dive 20-13 (34,000). Ed's steaming victory leaves Clean Bandit trailing behind a No.2 with Symphony (90,000) becoming their highest charting song on the chart, whilst it becomes Lara's second successive No.2 hit following Lush Life. Kasabian continue to climb 7-5 to claim their second top five hit, with The Chainsmokers rising 15-6 to score themselves a 4th top top entry with Young. |
