Lots of great stuff in your #201-250 section.
The two Bebe Rexha tracks are great. The album felt like it was trying to be the next 'Future Nostalgia' and it's not as good as that album but the sound is still funky. Snoop's verse is also quite fun on 'Satellite'. I've become a huge fan of Leah Kate this year so it's nice to see 'Unbreakup' make your list. I think most people see her as a bit of a joke after she released some pretty bad TikTok chasing hits but as she's moved away from that with her new album, it's just really solid pop music. 'Exes' and 'All-American Bitch' are my other favourites so far. And of course, it's good to see lots of Taylor as expected

Not too many songs I know in that section! Giving Penthouse a listen as I used to like a couple of Kelsea songs - certainly a sad one, the vocals and guitar certainly add to the atmosphere of it.

(281) Kygo ft. Dagny - Lonely Together - #14 Sales: 622,700 Chart-Run: [...-21-14-18-20-34-33-42-51-59-68-78-89] (12wks) Another song that charted last year but didn't peak til the post-xmas rush, Lonely Together was an instant highlight from Kygo's most recent album and another smash for Dagny, a fun pop-dance song with great vocals and a nice beat <3 178. Miley Cyrus - River - #04 Sales: 623,300 Chart-Run: [4-9-24-29-40-48-52-71-72-85-94] (11wks) It's catchy but I grew bored of this one v. quickly and didn't return to it much at all after the first couple weeks. 177. (197) Ava Max - Weapons - #22* Sales: 624,500 Chart-Run: [...-23-24-30-31-23-22-37-49-56-65-74-84] (12wks) Another 2022 repeat & a top 5 hit for Ava that year, Weapons held well this year with D&D's album release, I kinda didn't return to this after Q1 but listening to this now I forgot how much of a bop this is!! Top 3 on the album! 176. Maren Morris & Marcus Mumford - Look At Us Now (Honeycomb) - #20 Sales: 629,800 Chart-Run: [32-20-106-52-52-57-56-60-73-72-72-82] (12wks) A cover of the main song from Daisy Jones & The Six, I preferred this to the OG version! Maren's vocals are a SLAY as always and I love this folk style from here, and it works well with Marcus. A great track. 175. Pink - When I Get There - #30 Sales: 630,000 Chart-Run: [37-42-45-61-57-74-71-76-82-88-x(x11)-30-x] (11wks) Pink's here with the gorgeous When I Get There, a beautiful ballad about heaven that hit very close to home <3 Gorgeous vocals and beautiful lyrics, one of Pink's strongest lyrics in a long time. 174. (88) Mimi Webb - Ghost of You - #26* Sales: 632,200 Chart-Run: [...-26-32-35-40-47-50-58-67-75-32-64-77-93] (13wks) Another 2022 holdover, this one a #1 smash! Such a MAJOR bop from Mimi and one of my faves from her to-date, so goddamn catchy <3 173. Gracie Abrams - Where Do We Go Now? - #43 Sales: 632,800 Chart-Run: [85-71-76-73-75-81-43-63-72-81-89-82-86-89-96] (15wks) Potentially the only non-top 40 hit in the top 200, Gracie's lead-up single to her album was a slow but constant grower on me, that I kept being drawn back to and is one of her best songs to-date. The song only managed 6 weeks top 75 but so many between 81-100! 172. Taylor Swift - Suburban Legends - #09 Sales: 633,600 Chart-Run: [14-9-21-42-68-92] (6wks) First of the 5 1989TV vault songs (and spoiler, the other 4 will all be here x), Suburban Legends was my most hyped based on title but was the most underwhelming, its a bit filler-y but still a cute song! The song peaked in its 2nd week, before plummeting with the invasion of Xmas. 171. Becky Hill ft. Chase & Status - Disconnect - #12 Sales: 638,400 Chart-Run: [56-36-27-12-25-44-44-51-67-82-90-99] (12wks) Chase & Status repetend for their sins of 'Baddadan' by contributing to Becky's banger. As usual, this continued Becky's curse of always going top 20 but missing the top 10 (I'm not sure if she's had one song top 10 as a lead artist here yet, but probs is on double figures in terms of top 20 oops!). Generic but this slaps. |

170. Mimi Webb - Roles Reversed - #09
Sales: 638,800 Chart-Run: [9-18-12-26-41-58-59-66-69-75-90-96] (12wks) Mimi appears again with the lovely Roles Reversed, which is v. Tate's 'You Broke Me First' coded but that's not a bad thing! It's also nice when a new artist acc releases a song pre-album that's over 3:30 these days! 169. (35) Taylor Swift - Vigilante Shit - #28* Sales: 645,000 Chart-Run: [...-28-31-40-42-49-51-61-68-74-80-91-76-92-92] (14wks) A top 40 EOY song from last year, one of my fave Midnights album cuts, the v. underrated Vigilante Shit makes the top 200 again. I love this style for Taylor and its such a bad bitch anthem. 168. Aly & AJ - With Love From - #59 Sales: 647,900 Chart-Run: [73-66-59-66-63-70-72-85-89-88-63-70-77-88-97] (15wks) Nothing from their last album grabbed me as much of their previous one, but the titular track was my fave and enjoyed a lengthy run on my chart, despite its low peak! A nice spring-summery road-trip vibe song, and turns out there is another song that didn't make my top 40 here! 167. Birdy - Raincatchers - #02 Sales: 649,100 Chart-Run: [2-9-17-32-33-41-49-56-81-86-97] (11wks) Birdy's comeback single was very atmospheric and a bop, but its not my fave thing she's ever done and it kinda fell v. quickly here. 166. Noa Kirel - Unicorn - #01 Sales: 650,600 Chart-Run: [1-11-19-24-34-43-66-73-x(x24)-91] (9wks) Continuing the front loaded songs, Unicorn just about pipped 3 other Eurovision songs to the #1 spot, but fell v. quickly & just escapes being the lowest selling #1 due to a re-entry last week. It is a bop and I like the production + vocals + switch-ups. 165. (536) Ava Max - Dancing's Done - #16 Sales: 652,400 Chart-Run: [17-16-25-33-17-21-31-45-53-64-73-83] (12wks) Another Ava bop, this was looking like it'd be a huge hit here after entering in the final week of 2022, but it just did solidly in the end as I wasn't feeling it as much as I thought I would. Another bop from Ava tho x 164. (26) David Guetta & Bebe Rexha - I'm Good (Blue) - #25* Sales: 653,200 Chart-Run: [...-25-28-34-38-45-48-57-64-67-74-79-85-x(x5)-92-94] (14wks) Another 2022 holdover, this one a huge #1 smash! Still absolutely obsessed with this song, the sample works really well and Bebe's vocals are a slay, one of the best dance hits of the decade so far. Lowkey probs should be higher here this year cos its still on my current playlist!! 163. Nicky Youre - Found - #16 Sales: 654,500 Chart-Run: [39-16-23-21-26-30-35-51-54-68-82-92] (12wks) After having one of the biggest hits of 2022 with 'Sunroof', Nicky's follow-ups didn't see the same level of success but Found was one of his biggest since then, its a huge bop and a fab soundtrack song (from The Magician's Elephant) and its just feel good - gives me Nick Jonas 'Home' vibes. 162. (9) Lizzo - 2 Be Loved (Am I Ready) - #27* Sales: 654,900 Chart-Run: [...-27-30-36-39-46-47-52-61-65-70-75-82-99-97] (14wks) Another huge #1 from 2022 here, this is our first song that made the top 10 last year! (expect 3 more later on). Was still obsessed with this for the first half of 2023, tho stopped going back to it as much in the second half. Still an absolute major bop though its so so catchy and pure love, def Lizzo's best song <3 161. Sabrina Carpenter - Lonesome - #23 Sales: 672,200 Chart-Run: [49-53-23-23-28-29-48-46-54-65-72-80-92] (13wks) An album-cut from Sabrina's deluxe here, Lonesome is a gorgeous song and instantly became one of my faves from the album <3 It's quite country-ish and ofc we love songs talking about words we can't spell without 'me' xx An underrated gem <3 158. Jessie Buckley - Cabaret - #19 Sales: 673,300 Chart-Run: [86--37-19-25-21-40-35-50-58-76-82-98-x(x3)-149] (13wks) Heading to the West End next for Oscar nominee Jessie Buckley's FANTASTIC rendition of Cabaret after starring in its revival. Absolutely obsessed with Jessie's version and it gives her another hit here after her fabulous songs from 'Wild Rose' (especially Glasgow), so so good <3 157. Miley Cyrus - Used To Be Young - #05 Sales: 693,300 Chart-Run: [5-12-24-33-41-47-53-61-69-85-95] (11wks) Another quite frontloaded single for Miley this era, Used To Be Young is a really nice song but I wasn't compelled to return to it too much. 156. (39) Kelsea Ballerini, Carly Pearce, Kelly Clarkson - You're Drunk, Go Home - #22* Sales: 695,900 Chart-Run: [...22-26-31-37-44-49-56-60-66-73-80-87-x(x2)-90-93-99] (15wks) A collab between two of my fave artists of the decade so far + one of my faves of all time was always going to be a huge hit here, and YDGH delivered a yeehaw country BOP. After being a big #1 in 2022, the song held well throughout this year! 155. Nessa Barrett - American Jesus - #20 Sales: 700,700 Chart-Run: [29-37-22-21-20-29-36-55-59-141-88-88] (12wks) Nessa scored by far the biggest hit of her career yet with the Lana-like 'American Jesus', it gives v. strong Born To Die (album) vibes and I adore it. Great production and one of my fave discoveries of the year. 154. Rita Ora - Don't Think Twice - #07 Sales: 705,600 Chart-Run: [7-67-13-12-21-27-37-52-59-63-81] (11wks) Rita served this BOP, which I lowkey forget existed the second I stopped charting it, but still another bop from FIRO x Extended version the better one x 153. (355) Ward Thomas - Justice & Mercy - #25 Sales: 705,900 Chart-Run: [44-43-27-25-35-35-47-54-57-62-32-61-77-91] (14wks) Ward Thomas finally served a great song again for the first time in years and were rewarded with their biggest hit here in AGES. Great storytelling and a pretty great country song! 152. Kelly Clarkson ft. Sheila E. - That's Right - #04 Sales: 706,400 Chart-Run: [4-13-76-30-35-44-52-64-78-84-92] (11wks) That's Right was initially one of my absolute faves on 'Chemistry' but it got overtaken by a couple of the other album tracks in my affections so it fell quite quickly. I love its breezy summery vibe though and it was nice to hear something a bit different on the album, and a new sound for Kelly! 151. Olivia Rodrigo - Logical - #04 Sales: 708,800 Chart-Run: [4-15-24-31-38-45-54-71-85-96] (10wks) First of quite a few GUTS album tracks to appear! Logical is one of the most underrated on the album, its a great Julia Michaels penned mid-tempo ballad and she suits this style so well, and I love the lyrics (2+2=5 queen at math), another great track from Olivia! |
