Usually pretty accurate

Posted by: dan.G 2nd April 2020, 10:06 PM

yes! Becky about to get another international hit then!

Posted by: awardinlockdown 2nd April 2020, 10:33 PM

Hope for a big hit. What happened to the second Sigala collaboration that was meant to happen...

Good job isn’t it that I postponed the Becky Hill Dance Vocalist thread!

omg the world needs this!!

Posted by: Bjork 3rd April 2020, 07:52 AM

Recently? Surely for a very long time now.

Interesting collab on paper.

Posted by: Bjork 4th April 2020, 07:24 AM

sounds better than Ritual/God is a dancer

Posted by: .MIKE. 4th April 2020, 07:43 AM

I’m gonna be all over this. Sounds great

Posted by: Bré 4th April 2020, 12:31 PM

I'm not quite sure how Becky Hill's generic dance features/collabs excite you guys so much every time. I don't think I can think of a less interesting collab. x

Becky is the queen of dance x

Posted by: jszmiles 4th April 2020, 01:30 PM

sounds more like Gorgon CIty than Tiesto

Posted by: dan.G 5th April 2020, 10:51 AM

Cos she has the absolute best vocal in dance music!

Definitely looking forward to this bop coming later this week, already sounding like the best thing Tiësto has put his name to in some time!

Here is an extended sample of the track.

Posted by: HospitalWard* 13th April 2020, 10:28 PM

Becky has also said this about the track;

Posted by: ElectroBoy 14th April 2020, 10:14 AM

Excited for this smile.gif

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 14th April 2020, 08:49 PM

This should easily be a uk top 20 hit.

Posted by: Nick F1 16th April 2020, 10:00 PM

just heard this, it's way to shoort, only 2:37. And it's starts to straight with nanana.. kinda disappointed :/

Posted by: HospitalWard* 16th April 2020, 11:29 PM

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 17th April 2020, 11:36 AM

On the first listen I much prefer it to anything Tiesto's done in quite some time and 'Better Off Without You', so that's a good sign.

Posted by: LMLou 17th April 2020, 11:47 AM

It's ok, I really wish there was more to the drop as the build up is pretty good

Posted by: MrAndrewMan 17th April 2020, 12:02 PM

I like this, but I do agree that it would be better with a bit more of a drop. biggrin.gif

Posted by: Dobbo 17th April 2020, 01:16 PM

Not sure on this. It's a bit shouty. Production is nice tho.

Posted by: lewistgreen 17th April 2020, 05:15 PM

Actually quite enjoying it. Not his or her strongest but it’s great

Posted by: dandruff* 17th April 2020, 06:52 PM

I agree somewhat with Dobbo: perhaps the vocal in the buildup maybe should have been turned down a bit compared with the instrumental.

However this is very good, one of Tiësto's best recently.

Posted by: gavindeejay 17th April 2020, 10:55 PM

Loving this already!

Posted by: Juan Carlos 18th April 2020, 08:14 PM

Gorgon City and Sergio Popken produced the track alongside Tiësto. Kye Gibbon and Matt Robson-Scott have writing credits too.

Posted by: dan.G* 19th April 2020, 12:14 PM

I am enjoying this, though it's not sounding like an absolute classic from either of them - I'd still rank God Is A Dancer above it and in general I much prefer Becky to Mabel.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 19th April 2020, 02:34 PM

Its not as good as God is a dancer but I still like it

Posted by: lewistgreen 19th April 2020, 02:56 PM

Definitely here for some sort of album with Ritual, God Is A Dancer and Nothing Really Matters on along with some other fab features. Please make it happen.

Yes!

This is my favourite of all three so far - Becky Hill just belongs on dance music dance.gif

#66 in the mids today. Not a terrible start I guess

Posted by: gavindeejay 20th April 2020, 06:16 PM

All of Beckys hits have got off to slow starts so there’s nothing to worry about at the moment.

Posted by: RobBot 20th April 2020, 06:40 PM

I absolutely LOVE this, I was hoping to see more love for this on here! It could very easily be annoyingly screechy with Becky's vocals but for some reason, it all really works and feels powerful instead and works towards making the song feel like a much bigger package.

Posted by: Scene 20th April 2020, 06:43 PM

If this can catch on like BOWY maybe just maybe Becky may finally have a bit of a breakthrough in her own right. Dance music needs her voice tbh.

Posted by: HospitalWard* 24th April 2020, 09:23 PM

#76 on its opening week, now let’s see it climb into the Top 40 gradually.

Ya becky always does the gradual climb but I'd have preferred number75 debut than 76

Yes the drop is quite Gorgon City come to think of it so their influence can definitely be heard on the track.

Posted by: awardinary 1st May 2020, 10:29 PM

It has suffered a big fall in the charts this week, narrowly escaping falling out of the Top 100 altogether.

Surely it will bounce back once a video is available, and some radio airplay, but it’s still not the best start

This was the chart run for Ritual with Rita Ora;
64-85-67-47-49-41-40-28-26-27-26-24-25-24-28-36-69-79-92

And this was the chart run for God Is A Dancer with Mabel which peaked higher but had a shorter chart life;
37-33-32-15-16-18-20-26-26-30-46

Does Becky Hill have the same appeal as Rita and Mabel, I would say so, but the general public may not. huh.gif

Posted by: awardinary 6th May 2020, 06:39 PM

Official music video coming tomorrow. Hopefully it gives it a bit of a push back into the Top 100 again.

Posted by: Dobbo 7th May 2020, 09:33 AM

Yeah that's not a good early sign is it. Flop inbound?

Posted by: awardinary 7th May 2020, 09:34 PM

Official video is here, now let’s hope this can propel back up the charts!

Posted by: awardinary 27th May 2020, 08:45 PM

Remixes to come Friday!

Posted by: gavindeejay 28th May 2020, 06:52 AM

Massively disappointing to see this flop, it just doesn't make sense after both artists have had hits in the past year!

Yeah, it is a shame. Although I'm not surprised really. Becky still isn't a big name yet and Tiesto's last few hits definitely did well due to the other artists being really well known.

Posted by: Bjork 28th May 2020, 07:32 AM

^Think so. Tiesto is too old to get much support and the last 2 song he only got some cos of Rita and Mabel, respectively,
but Becky Hill is not on there same category (sadly)

moreover, I think there's a bit of Becky Hill saturation... too many singles in a row that sound the same

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 28th May 2020, 09:00 AM

Well, it's not like Shify K3y is a huge name either and presumably that did fairly well due to her name alone.

I'm surprised R1 didn't playlist it as they both seem like names guaranteed to get on that playlist. It leads me to believe maybe they didn't properly push this as an actual single?

I like this a lot, so whatever has gone wrong I'm pretty gutted. sad.gif

Posted by: lewistgreen 28th May 2020, 11:30 AM

There's still time I guess? They were so late with I Could Get Used To This that I have some hope. R2 gave this some spot plays but it doesn't always guarantee a playlisting, especially when Ritual is the only single here that's been added to the station so far.

Posted by: Dobbo 29th May 2020, 09:22 AM

Na this one's over I think, hopefully just a blip for the pair!

As much as I love Becky Hill's music, I have to agree you here. They were best to wait until August/September. She's essentially bit non-stop since Wish You Well last Summer. I'd love to see her get a top 5 smash in the future but I cannot see it ever happening myself which is a shame.
