I'm rewatching Series 10 at the mo, and it's SO fab. It's reassuring to see I hadn't imagined the overall drop in quality of the last 2 (at least until I rewatch them and find they are much better than I remembered )

I'm here for it, this season was certainly stronger than the last and I feel like Chris is properly finding his feet (even though he's been with the show on and off in some capacity since its revival )

I’m disappointed but not surprised at Chibnall staying on for a few more seasons. I’m not sure where the exact source of the ews has come from though, I feel it’s more a misinterpretation. My guess is there’s likely been something behind the scenes from the BBC to secure some form of stability for the future in terms of vision for the show. Even for a show where fast changes are an integral part, it looks bad if you’re constantly overhauling the branding/rebooting all the time. The reboot seen with a new showrunner can only happen once every so often.
I don’t get the cast remarks as there’s no way we’re getting Yaz, Ryan and Graham for 5 series. Although maybe that’s the reason there’s been so little character development so far.... |

Perhaps they want Chibnall to stay on, but he doesn't want to introduce another new Doctor in his run?

I'd quite gladly have Jodie stay on because she deserves so much more than she's been given so far, but... I barely know her Doctor beneath surface level. We need to know more about her. There's been very little attention paid so far to just exactly who the 13th Doctor is, and my problem with Chibnall is we're probably never going to find out.

^Quite, it's a shame as she's a great actress and always seems so enthusiastic and passionate about the show in interviews, but she really, really needs better writing. I feel like he just does his own thing with the show which worries me a bit. I did like last season, but it doesn't really hold up when you look at it more closely.
Three more series of Chibnall is...not very promising. I mean I certainly don't want to watch if the cast stays the same and they don't ditch Ryan and Graham like I thought? At least 60% of the problems would be solved if they did that. |

I'd be very very surprised if none of the companions leave at Christmas - my theory is that Jack will become a supporting character again as John Barrowman's hair is grown out again

Jodie can stay but everyone else I can take or leave. Chibnall definitely needs to go. The last series was an improvement but still had massive flaws.
I just want simple Doctor Who back from the RTD days. It’s been 10 years, throw us a bone. |

This is quite interesting! An "immersive" show, 'Doctor Who: Time Fracture' is opening at Immersive LDN in February next year. |

Series 13 apparently starting filming next month! But may not come out until 2022 due to the restrictions COVID has brought about
The same rumour confirms Mandip Gill is indeed staying on. No mention of cast other than Jodie and Mandip |

hmmmm i’m worried about how it’s going to work out. it’s like the least Covid-friendly show you can have with a complete different guest cast and locations each week!
i can’t have covid being the reason this show comes to an end or hiatus again |

I'd really rather they just get some killer scripts together (I can guarantee what they'll have at this point will still include sub-standard shit), have a series air in 2022 or something, then have specials for the 60th in 2023.

Now rumoured that the BBC are planning to show Revolution of the Daleks on Christmas Day instead of New Year’s Day!

So I finally watched series 12.
Thoughts... Massively improved on season 11, also I adore Jodie as the Doctor. She seems to remind me of a mix between Matt Smith and David Tennants two doctors. Could also do with maybe 1 less companion? Just feels a bit crowded tbh. Also, no Daleks or Cybermen for next season please. Lol. But... Bring back the Weeping Angels or The Silence! |

Now rumoured that the BBC are planning to show Revolution of the Daleks on Christmas Day instead of New Year’s Day! Please!! The Christmas schedules are lighter than normal this year due to Covid halting production on so many shows so I'm not surprised - I expect Doctor Who will get a good slot and be heavily relied on! |
