Before I reveal which characters scored one point, here are the tie-break rules:
Any tie will be decided by most votes. If scores are still tied,it will be the highest score from one person. If the scores are still tied, which they will be at the bottom of the scoreboard, positions will be decided by the number of years from the character's first appearance to their most recent appearance. |

107. Shirley Benson
AaronTM 1 point Shirley Benson was played by Robyn Moore. Shirley is initially seen in Albert Square in May 2003. A divorcée, she has three sons, now grown up; two are in the army and the other lives in New Zealand. She works at the Walford Bookies and lives with her cat, Boots, at 89a George Street. In February 2004, Andy Hunter takes over the bookies. Shirley does not like the way Andy runs things and after she complains repeatedly about his conduct, Andy fires her. Shirley demonstrates about her unfair dismissal with a placard outside the bookies. Eventually Andy offers her a large sum of money to leave. Shirley is thrilled with the pay-off and decides to go to New Zealand to visit her son. This post has been edited by King Rollo: 7th July 2020, 09:37 PM |

Scene 1 point Danny Pennant, played by Gary Lucy, made his first screen appearance on 27 September 2012,appearing until 2 November. On 6 March 2013, it was announced that Lucy was returning to the cast. Danny appeared on 7 June 2013 before becoming a regular character in July. Danny is a 28-year-old city banker, who has been described as being "mischievous", a "charmer" and someone who "oozes sex appeal". An EastEnders statement read "With his irresistible charm and luring persona, Danny is desired and envied by both men and women—girls want to be seen with him and boys want to be him. He will inevitably create controversial encounters and his provocative and lustful nature is bound to land him in trouble". He left for Marbella in February 2014. 105. Claudette Hubbard
Hide&Seek 1 point Claudette Hubbard, played by Ellen Thomas, made her first screen appearance on 12 March 2015. The role of Claudette marks Thomas' fourth time on EastEnders, she previously appeared as Pearl Chadwick (1990), Estella Hulton in 2002 and Grace Olubunmi (2010–2011). Of Thomas and her character, executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins commented "Ellen Thomas belongs on EastEnders. Albert Square now has a new steely matriarch – with a few twisted secrets hidden behind her beaming smile." David Brown from the Radio Times added that Claudette had links to established regular characters and would be "a tough-talking resident of Albert Square". Thomas revealed that Claudette's family would be introduced to the square, saying: "Claudette is a foster mother, she's fostered children for the last 30 years. She's fostered the kind of children nobody else wants – tough cookies." She stated that it was a "brilliant opportunity to bring new characters in". Laura-Jane Tyler from Inside Soap admitted to being a little scared by "steely" Claudette and said she made Vincent "look like a pussycat." Tyler also hoped that Claudette would turn out to be a big crime boss. On 13 September 2016, it was confirmed that Ellen Thomas would depart as Claudette and would leave the show in the coming weeks after being axed by the new executive producer, Sean O'Connor. 104. Afia Masood
Cameron 1 point Afia Masood (also Khan) was played by Meryl Fernandes. Afia appeared in five episodes between 29 December 2009 and 5 January 2010, and returned on 18 November 2010. This is Fernandes' second role in EastEnders, her first being a schoolgirl in 1993. Afia was introduced as a love interest for Tamwar Masood. Her father was later introduced as Yusef Khan who was the former husband of Tamwar's mother, Zainab. Tamwar and Afia's wedding was voted best wedding at the Inside Soap awards 2011. Afia is described as "adventurous and straight to the point, doesn't sugar-coat the truth, and doesn't follow everyone else." She has also been described as "slightly erratic" and "aloof". It was announced in May 2012 that Fernandes had finished filming her final scenes and that Afia would leave EastEnders in June. She departed on 7 June 2012. 103. Minty Peterson
King Rollo 1 point Minty was originally scripted as a guest character in 2002. He was only due to appear in a few episodes, but actor Cliff Parisi's contract was extended and Minty was turned into a series regular. Originally scripted as a less sympathetic character than he went on to become, Minty was given a backstory linking him to Phil Mitchell. Parisi has described Minty as a "Mr I-can-get-it, I-can-sort-it type". However he adds, "Minty never really gets round to either getting it or sorting it. His intentions are always good but he never does it properly so there's a bit of a comedy element and he has a mischievous streak to him." Minty was paired as friends with another male bachelor, Garry Hobbs. On-screen both worked together as mechanics and eventually moved in with each other as flatmates. Storylines featuring the characters together have been typically comical, and both actors have described the two characters as "light", fun loving and drama-free, giving viewers a break from the more serious plotlines that are featured in the soap. Groves has commented, "Garry and Minty are the light in the dark. They're not gangsters or love triangle material. They break up the drama with laughs so it's not all doom and gloom. It can't all be about teenage pregnancies." Minty's last appearance was in the episode broadcast on 21 September 2010. This post has been edited by King Rollo: 7th July 2020, 09:49 PM |

102. Wellard
HausofGhibli 1 point Wellard is a fictional Belgian Tervuren dog who first appeared in Eastenders on 18 October 1994, and became the series' longest-serving pet, before being killed off on 15 August 2008. Although the character is male, he has been played primarily by three female dogs: Zenna, her daughter Chancer, and her granddaughter Kyte. A fourth dog briefly served as a replacement for Zenna in 1996, when she was given time off from the show to have a litter of puppies. Wellard was briefly written out of the series under executive producer Matthew Robinson, but returned when Robinson was succeeded by John Yorke. Wellard's owners for the majority of his duration in the soap were Robbie Jackson and Gus Smith. He was voted "Best Pet" at the 2008 Digital Spy Soap Awards, and named the UK's favourite soap opera pet in a 2009 Inside Soap poll. Wellard was a fan favourite, and although a storyline that saw him threatened with euthanasia for biting local café owner Ian Beale was poorly received by critics, his death drew generally favourable reviews. I had to give a point to Wellard for nostalgic reasons and just to see him included in this. Claudette an ICON! Minty's character got old quite fast oop. No major losses!

Claudette was an epic character who suffered from poor writing/backstage shenanigans.

101. Joe Wicks
Hide&Seek 2 points Joe Wicks was played by Paul Nicholls. He appeared on screen between 25 March 1996 and 14 November 1997. Matthew Bayliss of The Guardian said that Joe's schizophrenia earnt EastEnders much acclaim because he was David's son and Pat's grandson: "His illness affected people we knew and cared about, so its key scenes were charged with emotion." Nicholls' role as Joe saw him nominated 'Most Popular Newcomer' in the 1996 National Television Awards, and 'Most Popular Actor' the following year. The character's exit from the soap was viewed by 22 million people. This post has been edited by King Rollo: 7th July 2020, 09:53 PM |

99. Barry Evans
King Rollo 2 points Barry Evans was played by Shaun Williamson, appearing first in episode 1072, originally shown on 27 December 1994, and making his last appearance in episode 2653, originally shown on 2 January 2004. The character is portrayed as a "buffoon". Williamson controversially left the serial after nine years in 2003 after executive producer Louise Berridge refused to allow him time off to star in a seasonal pantomime, and the character was killed off. 98. Ricky Butcher
Feel The Fever 2 points Ricky Butcher, played by Sid Owen, was introduced as a school boy in 1988 and is one of the longest-running male protagonists to feature in EastEnders. Owen originally left the role in 2000 to pursue a music career. However, he reprised the role in 2002 before being axed by producer Louise Berridge in 2004. In 2008, producer Diederick Santer reintroduced the character for a third time, along with his wife Bianca Jackson. Ricky is portrayed as unintelligent, simplistic, easily led and bossed around by dominant personalities. On 26 February 2011, it was announced that Owen would take a temporary break from the show. The character exited on 19 July 2011, returning five months later on 13 December 2011. Ricky left EastEnders on 17 January 2012 but returned on 20 June the same year for the wedding of his sister, Janine Butcher, before departing for the final time on 29 June 2012. Joe Wicks and Ricky Butcher were in my score options but lost out on recieving points due to a slight preference of other characters.
