Earlier this year, a new series was announced by Hulu that would look more into the books of Stephen King than ever before. After the success of 11/22/63, JJ Abrams & Stephen King will be joining forces with Hulu again to produce a series that intertwins characters and themes from Stephen King's work. Any fan of Stephen King will know that the fictional town of Castle Rock is a key setting within many of King's books as well as being mentioned in others. QUOTE It said in a press release that the series "combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King’s best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland." The teaser trailer mentions titles of and characters from a number of Stephen King novels, including: It, Dolores Claiborne, Needful Things, 'Salem's Lot, Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption, Dreamcatcher, Night Shift, The Green Mile, Misery, Hearts in Atlantis, The Shining, The Mangler, Four past Midnight, Different Seasons, Nightmares & Dreamscapes, and The Night Flier. The series stars Melanie Lynskey, Andre Holland, Jane Levy, Sissy Spacek, Bill Skarsgård (not as Pennywise afaik!!), Scott Glenn & Terry O'Quinn! |

REALLY excited for this! 11/22/63 was such a brilliant adaptation of the book and this is even more intriguing/interesting as it will really have an original story to tell. No idea of what it will truly involve but I'm really anticipating finding out more detail about it!

This has started being released on Hulu! Early reception is that it's less for casual viewers and a lot more for hardcore Stephen King fans with lots of references (both hidden and in plain sight). I've still got many King books to catch up on so may leave it a while before I start this! Not sure it's secured a UK broadcaster yet though
