Shane said early this year in a radio interview that the single will be a summer release. I thought it will be this month. So we just have to wait until September.maybe. and his wife said he's been working hard for the past six months.
They were deffinitely supposed to release a single along with the Wembley concerts but now we dont know. I hope they will be more focused on music since there will be no touring for the next 12 months
Seriously where are they???
Just because they are quiet at the moment doesn't mean they aren't working. Since album is probably being released in November, they aren't rushing with the singles, maybe they are planning a September/October release, maybe even simply November so it comes out a week or two before the album.
No no i do not have any high expectation. as i said we should have something to consume the last 1.5 year.... Years dont go backwards....
PS: Better man peaked at No26, only Hello My Love with all the push got to No13... Since then only My Blood managed to enter the charts at #96.
Shane posted a photo from the studio on his Instagram.
I think we should get a single in Aug or Sept the max…. It only makes sense from a lot of viewpoints…… Westlife should not forget that they sold around ~600k singles from Spectrum ehile they only did ~180k of spectrum… so if they want to keep fixing their sold records total they know the way forward and they shouldnt sct like we are in the 00’s

Is this their most busy 18 months ever??? Honestly i expected more…. They are inactive for almost 2 years….
I would expect a lot more music wise. There are a lot of artists who released music the last year. Assuming also the concert cancellation gave them even more free time… anyway its mostly concerning because what we understand from all this is that Westlife cannot be sustainable with no tour and also pressumably the deal with the new company does not include 4 singles/music videos like the one in virgin :/
Westlife / BTS is kind of trending in twitter. Do u think there might be a chance for a collaboration?
That would be great for Westlife but I kind of doubt it.
Yes, its true many released music but many also didn't. I wasn't even expecting an album in 2020 pandemic or no, they said they won't overwork themselves with an album per year and that is perfectly ok.
They'll be part of Radio 2 Live in Belfast to celebrate the comeback of live music on August 26, Thursday. Maybe a new single will be released or already released during that time ☺️
Westlife channel added an audio track of Hello My Love today showing a picture ‘Working class heroes’. I dont really know what is this and what might mean, however i can start feeling we are dast approaching the new single.
https://youtu.be/09Qo3GyOu1E
What do you think?
From Westlife Twitter account:
Sending our incredible fans some love today. Now we've reunited after all this time, we’ll be back with some exciting plans and announcements before you know it!
so what is the song name?
Shouldnt they releaae music already? It is getting very close to the Radio 2 concert but no signs….
PS: if they plan to challenge for the album #1 they should start promoting already or even release it a bit earlier than November. I would expect a lot of competition this year
Check out Jodi's instastory. If that clip is for a music video, single might be out next month
The album is finished, Shane posted it.
Might it be worth creating a new thread with the new album coming soon?
Yes this is old one. Lets create one when the new single is announced
Nicky's Instagram post is funny. Its cool they managed to record everything separately and remotely.
Yeah a bit of a shame although I think they will deffinitely sing Helloy My Love and one of My Blood / Better man. Or they might even do a small medley, similar to frank sinatra album and no1s tour
They released a photo that looks like they are making an announcement - hopefully they will share a video soon.
I would expect to hear from them by now. They are singing live tonight right? No new music either ??
I saw 1 tweet with a Westlife Radio 2 poster and on the bottom it says: Available from September 10th. I guess this means their gig wil be on the radio then right?
Only 4 songs had been confirmed by some fans so far. Steps have 7 or 8 songs and they are on the same event. 68000 have applied to be in that event, only 150 have been chosen. Hopefully we can get more information soon.
I doubt it will be on TV because the poster says
listen and stream. I hope they will have at least more than 1 single. I guess the label is not willing to tarnish the amazing chart run they had which I honestly always found ridiculous, they acted like being #5 is a tragedy when plenty of artists would kill to even be in Top.20.
Times have changed and there is no way in hell Westlife can ever be #1 so no one should worry about single chart position.
No new song performed. But we can't totally say they will not release a new single at the September 11 week because they can use their Radio 2 slot for promotion
At this point I wouldn't be surprised if they release a single one or two weeks before the album in November which isn't a new thing for them, they've done it before.
It makes no sense nowadays cause only singles are selling. If they want to improve their sold records record they should release more singles instead of albums
But you said it yourself, their 3 singles sold around million copies which isn't exactly amazing so I don't see the point. They will be squashed by streaming every time.
If the new album will be out this year, maybe only one major single will be released. If the record label will back up the upcoming single big time, they may be looking for Hello My Love streaming history. Remember it peaked on its third month on the Spotify UK chart, it didn't peaked on its premiere week. It was moving upwards but they released a new single that's why they left its inclusion in the playlists behind. With the month of September coming and Xmas songs coming around November, a September single release might be the planned scenario for them so they'll have time to widely promote it because of their history, their song needs time to heat up. Also remember with Hello My Love, they formally announced it two days before its release so anything is possible at this point
Westlife's set from Radio 2 Live in Belfast on BBC Red Button us available from Fri 10th Sept. It will be shown at different times throughout the day. It will also be available on BBC iPlayer.
The highlights from the show can be heard on BBC Radio 2 at 8pm on Sat 11th Sept.

Still waiting for new music….
Read this on Twitter:
Westlife talked to Zoe about their new album and new single ahead of their performance for Radio 2 Live. They say they were more involved with this album than they have been with previous albums in terms of songwriting, and say the new single is uptempo and will be released soon!
Not too long, plans for a video shoot they said. Quite uptempo, brilliant record
Here is the full interview and the performance: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m000zvqf
I am very interested to hear the album considering they say they were more involved thanks to the pandemic. Watch them release a great album thanks to their involvement haha! I mean, Mark is right, there is no way they would have ever been able to record it from mobile studio if this hasn't happened.
Anyone can understand why Westlife are keeping so quiet? I mean if they plan to release an album in 2 months they should at least mention it for pre ordering… no music yet no dates no title of the album no artwork no pre ordering promotion.. i mean last album they started releasing singles 10+ months before and had 4 singles out. Also the artwork was released like 8 months prior… totally strange… i dnt really get it
I am with myxxd, I think they will focus on the lead single and then the album. If that is the case, then it is not weird we haven't heard anything considering they aim for November release.
I am sure the single will be out in a matter of weeks. As for pre-order, I thought it was a bit ridiculous that Spectrum had such a long pre-order period, that wasn't necessary.
Thats how it works nowadays. You offer something to get the people pre order if you want t chart high. Last time it was the meet and greet. Imagine spectrum had over 50k preorders and closed the week at 62k…. This year the competition is extreme…. We need the #1 album…
Didn't they have a pre-order when they announced Wembley gigs? Like you said, you have something to offer, I agree but they had that link too soon, hype was not that high by the time album was out. If they put a pre-order in October, that is perfectly fine. You worry too much, if the boys are at peace, we should be too😁
Do you guys think they will push back, forward, or will just stick to the original date of the release of the upcoming album?
They mentioned a few times 3 months so I am hoping they will stick to November but who knows. I am pretty sure everything is set up though, its just that we don't know yet.
It’s all a bit odd and maybe the new label are not backing them at all. Shame as with the right backing they could have had another successful album.
It is weird that they have a promotional slot in radio 2 but nothing new to be promoted. Maybe since their performance will be up on BBC til next month or more, it is kind of a building up of the promotion. A new strategy I guess since they can't use the comeback hype anymore. Also, they are very restricted talking about the new album you can tell. I just noticed just now as well there's no signed album and bundles since they announced the upcoming album last March. What's their plan?
Approaching October and no album / single / tour announcement, no music video arrangement.. this is not normal… i wonder what is going on/wrong…. I hope we dont get another bad announcement like being dropped again….
At this point I think it's more likely that the album won't be released this year
I decided not to worry about it, whatever happens, happens.
They did say they are making a music video though. Also, any tour announcement isn't really wise at the moment.
I don't see the point of not releasing the album by the end of the year though, when it is finished and they are shooting a music video for the first single. But who knows, maybe they will for the first time release an album in the first quarter of the new year.
Anyone can Record westlifes top 10 playing now on MtV?
Their sudden change of label is, in my opinion, not in a bad way most likely. I can give more explanation to that after they release their debut single to Warner. Maybe we can wait for it this October.
Louis recently said there'll be some change in music and new songwriters. You can see clues on who are some of those in Mark's Instagram.
Ok so let's wait and see.
Is it true that Uptown Girl's full official music video is an ad on YouTube in the UK right now?
Double post
So is it? must be getting closer to multiplatinum now
Westlife are on mtv classic westlife: offcial number 1s at 5pm on thursday, 350 channel number
Can some friend here record or note down what they are showing and if they are revealing any sales? I am maintaining Westlife sales information so it is very important for me.
It only makes sense that the album will be postponed for January / February release. Maybe due to high competition this November ( Adele, Ed sHeeran, Abba, JLs) or maybe to promote it right after…. On any case the last year is deffinitely not their busiest yet as they mentioned last february. Its all very strange, its already october and no single no music video no album no tour news….
I don't know who told them to say this year will be their busiest, I didn't believe that one second. I wouldn't be surprised if they decide to release the album next year though but I kind of think they still might at least aim for December to take advantage of Christmas. Who knows, its all speculation at this point, time will tell.
They will be on Strictly on Oct 17th
So finally, new Westlife single this friday
Finally.
Wooo amazing news.
oh finally, yay!
Maybe they are still aiming for the album release this year. If they don't get #1, they can always say "Its Adele after all"
Double post, sorry.
The preview sounds like a Coldplay track! Please don’t let us down Westlife 🙏 Was listening to their old albums yesterday, some great quality. Worst thing they can do is pander to being so called ‘cool’ and different.
Very true, hope you are right 🙏
Nicky said that they will reveal everything on Wednesday.
I hope it won't be released on a Wednesday and only its details will be out on that day
Me too. Also I hope the album wont be out on the 19th November… in fact I prefer it to come in January
It can come out in December too, that'd benefit their sales with it being Q4 still.
Yeah I don't see why not, a lot of fans would buy it for Christmas.
Releasing the single the same time as Adele means they want album sales, even just a pinch of the sales she might get in the UK. More chances the new album will be pushed by the record company to be out this year. Most of big record sellers are being released this year. Companies need sales after the stagnant year of 2020. This might cost them lower chart placement but I think they might not be in a hurry this time to have a number one album as they have so much plans ahead of them in the future musically
But if they want some longevity on the attention of this new single, the album will be released by next year.
Ed Sheeran is still huge, it would be cool if the boys actually duet with him this time around.
The new preview sounds a lot more promising, hoping for a huge pop chorus! The last album was good but not great and none of the choruses matched up to songs from years back. Just listening to the massively underrated ‘heal’. Massive chorus, great bridge and amazing middle eight.
Nicky posted they are shooting a music video today.
How are they planning to release the single this week when they jst shoot the video?
I like the sound of it. I wouldn't be too surprised if Ed Sheeran wrote this one too though.
I like the sound of it. I wouldn't be too surprised if Ed Sheeran wrote this one too though.
Didn't think we were getting anything from them this side of Christmas but very exciting all the same, I loved their last album
Starlight is the title of their new single. Co-written by Tom Grennan.
Walsh described it as a strong, up-tempo song and said it’s one of many cracking singles on the forthcoming release.
So no album for this year?
Believe it or not, I actually thought of Starlight but then I thought "nah, I am never good with guessing titles"
Walsh saying "one of many", I will take this with a grain of salt, we heard that one before
On PopJustice forum someone posted the artwork for the single AND the album titled Wild Dreams, including the artwork and the tracklist. Album out November 26th:
https://forum.popjustice.com/threads/westlife-spectrum-2019-stadiums-in-the-summer-tour-2021.68828/page-37#post-8298253
I just asked where did he/she found the info.
I don't know how exactly to embed so here are the images:
https://postimg.cc/vDmVf3H7
https://postimg.cc/yg1vFckJ
I like the artworks but the album one has a weird shot - Mark and Kian look pissed off and Shane looks kind of drunk
Also, its a shame Mark's eyes are closed in the artwork for single.
Oh and the tracks are:
01. Starlight
02. Alone Together
03. Wild Dreams
04. Lifeline
05. Alive
06. Rewind
07. Do You Ever Think of Me
08. My Hero
09. End of Time
10. Magic
11. Always With Me
Why the photos looked fake lol chosen poses could have been better
Its an ACL surgery. Serious but not risky at all
Good luck to you Charis.
Songwriters of Starlight
BRYER DANIEL JOHN DONALD
FEEHILY MARK
FILAN SHANE
GRENNAN THOMAS
NEEDLE MICHAEL DAVID
RYCROFT PETER JOHN REES
SCOTT JAMIE
After 22 years for the first time in Westlife history that a song Co written by members of the band to be chosen as the lead single. That is why Mark is happy. So happy for them.
Thats great! For some reason I always find it funny when I see 7 or more people credited as songwriters though
They'll have a radio guesting on Thursday. I am afraid it will be another Thursday release. But Kian said new music this Friday?
The album cover and title are now confirmed. It will be released on November 26.
Double post
Is it even confirmed Adele is releasing on Novembar 19th? Either way, it doesn't matter though, I am sure she will top the charts for weeks. Where We Are was #2 and it wasn't the end of the world.
Charis HMV is the source. Tracklist is also confirmed. Yup the date was pushed back like Where We Are scenario again because Susan Boyle was so strong at that time
HMV writes in the description:
'Wild Dreams' is a collection of songs which finds Westlife collaborating with some very special guest songwriters including Ed Sheeran ('My Hero') and Amy Wadge ('Lifeline', 'Rewind'). Producers on the album include Jamie Scott (One Direction), Rami Yacoub (Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga) and Steve Mac (Ed Sheeran, Pink).
Rami is back after 14 years.
Edit, hmv just deleted the details about the new album ahhahaHha
Which WL songs did he do? Btw did Adele announce an album this November or its speculation?
Can’t find the tracklist anywhere
Its on page 6
Thank you..I didn’t look very hard 😂
With their last album, I became more of a fan than I had ever previously been, so I’m quite excited for their new music!
I'm thinking the boys will release Wild Dreams as a single a week leading or the week of the album release. That is a good move, having 2 singles released in a short period.
Its a shame album cover resembles a lot to Taylor Swift's Lover, color palette is almost identical.
I suppose all they can hope for is a "halo" of sorts from Adele, in that her presence boosts sales of other albums.
No harm in being No. 5 or whatever with higher sales than they got at No. 1 last time (unlikely perhaps but just a thought).
STARLIGHT out tomorrow 8 am BST
The colors they used in the exclusive bundles are amazing
Deluxe edition will have the four live tracks from BBC Ulster Hall
More chances they will appear as #1 on iTunes tomorrow than on Friday the same time as Adele
Ah so it looks like that 2nd artwork is for the deluxe version of the album, its not a single artwork like I originally assumed.
And why didnt they release a physical cd? Everybody does that now…
No single cover for Starlight so far as well like Dynamite and My Blood
About iTunes, I know. Maybe they are following the same thing they did with Hello My Love which went Gold. And a #1 is for publicity which is needed for the upcoming album
Physical CD for album or single?
i mean single of course
Cool that they will also have cassette version:
https://shop.thisisdig.com/uk/artists/westlife/wild-dreams-exclusive-yellow-cassette.html
so the pink cover is just a signed cart? not a cd cover?
Full bundle ordered!
Only signed edition is on the digi site and it’s a card. Bundle I got cost £8 for postage which seems a lot but oh well.
The artwork for this is absolutely stunning. Hats off to whoever shot the photos and designed it all! Hope they do a vinyl as well.
Adele is confirmed for November 19th.... not sure how much she will sell the 2nd week and if we stand any chance.....
Amazon exclusive CD sleeve - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09JB21Z3R/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_apa_glt_i_D17PJFXMA3GC32RPB1QV?linkCode=ml1&tag=addictiontovi-21
No vinyl for the album and no physical for the single. Maybe they didn't do well the last time they did it
Regarding vinyl, there's really long wait times for them to be pressed, so they might not have been able to have them ready for the release date.
You can listen to the single here from around 7:55:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/live:bbc_radio_two
Its a bop, I like it a lot, chorus is great!
WOW! After the limp last album they are properly back! The strong chorus, the vocals from all, the key change. Wow, this could be massive for them!
The melody for an uptempo is incredible, genuinely brilliant. This is the pop music that is needed! If this had support on streaming etc then younger people listening would be shocked! Wish we had a video with the release to get momentum going!
Quite like it, very uplifting. Can definitely hear Tom Grennan's involvement in the writing.
the beginning of the chorus reminds me of some ABBA type of song? or Steps? not sure. anyone else got the feeling? Tragedy maybe?
Kian said in an interview that Nicky wrote Alive.
It cracked me up when he said about recording an album: dog is barking, delivering man coming because your wife is doing nothing but doing online shopping"
Nicky then said he can't wait to hear Jodi's reaction to this"
General public still hesitant to give Westlife a chance
on iTunes at the moment:
#1 Ireland
#3 UK
Strong single, that's a rather gigantic chorus.
Will be interesting to see if it gets any streaming support like Hello My Love did. I'd have been inclined to release it on a Friday but I can see why they didn't release it this Friday.
What Shane said about writing with Mark:
“We didn’t know if they were good because it was just us trying to write songs,” Shane said. “But the producers started saying they were really good and we started working with other writers on them.
“We have never really written together before or even as a band because we had so many people writing great songs for us – we were never stuck for a hit song.
“We never got to really master that craft but this time we did it with no pressure and it was lovely.
“I was going through a tough time with my mum and dad, and it was a kind of release and a way to get to a happy place and do what I love.
“Me and Mark just bounced off each other so well and it became a really positive thing for this album.
“This album is probably the most personal one from the four of us as a band ever. It’s more personal and real and I think fans will get excited when they hear these songs because they’re coming from us.”
Ed Sheeran's previous album's sales run... do you think Adele will sell a lot higher than this?
25-Jul No 6 Collaborations Project Ed Sheeran 125,031 HIGHEST
01-Aug No 6 Collaborations Project Ed Sheeran 60,902
08-Aug No 6 Collaborations Project Ed Sheeran 41,372
15-Aug No 6 Collaborations Project Ed Sheeran 32,114
I really like it. Hope it does really well. I hope to hear Kian sing those lines live too.
What's the idea with releasing singles on Thursday?
^2 in itunes... can we make it to no.1 at least for today?
Not really much of a Westlife fan except for the odd song but this is really good and I’m glad its not just another Ed Sheeran cast off. I believe they are performing it on Strictly this weekend so will definitely do well on sales this week and might sneak into the top 40.
Wait, this is actually really good.
3rd Westlife song I've ever liked after 'World of Our Own' and 'Hello My Love' You can definitely hear Tom Grennan's influence on it.
Christ what a bop this is
Adele who?!
One of the very few westlife singles havent seen any negative comments hehe
Don’t think much of Westlife’s new song. Bland and sounds like a lot of their other stuff. Wouldn’t make me want to invest in their new album and I liked the singles from Spectrum.
Should 1D released this song it would be on 1 b views already…
To be fair, if 1D came back in 20 years I'm sure their fans would be saying "if only [insert more modern boyband] had released this"
On repeat since the release. Gota little bit teary eyed on the first listen because it is very powerful.
So the music video won't be released tomorrow but in the coming weeks right? I am looking forward to it because Shane looked fresh on his haircut with mirrors in the background
There is lack in promotion now on their YouTube now compared to Hello My Love. Idk to other streaming platforms. Wel it is just Thursday we still do not know yet their concrete future plans. I am just happy now the album is selling even if it will settle as a runner up to Adele.
I am looking forward to their performance on Strictly. The single is like it is meant for the show.
Doesn’t seem very well planned but as long as the music is good I suppose. Do worry about this label!
Their priorities are Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran and Coldplay. Heard Ed is promoting Elton now maybe because of the reaction by some that Ed is doing some tactics to stay put at #1
Loving this, instantly one of my favourites by them! That chorus, that key change! Very anthemic!
They really should have waited until tomorrow to release it.
I forgot, did Hello My Love had such charting over the world on iTunes? Either way, its good the song is well received:
#1 Ireland
#3 United Kingdom
#4 Indonesia
#5 New Zealand
#5 Singapore
#6 Denmark
#8 Sweden
#10 United Arab Emirates
#10 Vietnam
#15 Malaysia
#17 Philippines
#19 Greece
#20 South Africa
#23 Switzerland
#25 Poland
#31 Australia
#33 Belgium
#39 Hong Kong
#49 Germany
#51 Austria
#68 Thailand
#77 Taiwan
Not on any UK major playlist except NMF #14. Ridiculous. Hello my love they were on major streaming playlists
It really sucks they are ignored which really shouldn't be the case as it is actually a good pop song.
From the article, it appears they will perform My Hero soon:
Ed Sheeran wrote the track My Hero, which the lads will perform at the Pride of Britain Awards later this month, after contributing to previous LP Spectrum.
https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/16421319/westlife-adele-tough-competition-battle-new-music/
Whatever they perform it actually doesnt work…. Being dropped last year from their previous label… you cant continue release singles and sell top 50.000 copies. Thats deffinitely a much lesss income for paying the company the singers the writers the producers the music video… something needs to change.
You can't do much when you have a bad rep, when Radio 1 would rather die than play Westlife, when streaming runs you over for the most part. Nicky jokes in the interviews how they are a heritage act now which is true in a way. They don't seem worried about it though so no need to stress over this. It is what it is and they are an old boyband at the end of the day.
Many artists had lower sales than them and they are surviving. Again we do not know their plans maybe they will release another single with a stronger backing or this single will be playlisted later
But we cannot count out Charis' anxiety because this label is the same label who Handled Shane's second album, Kian s debut and Boyzone. I was about to say last March why they chose this label but I trust them and I do not want negativities as much as possible.
Anyway, #160 on Amazon UK popular songs only playlisted on #47 Brand New Music. #50 Spotify Ireland #1 on Amazon UK top digital songs
They posted a small clip from recording. It would be cool if they release a documentary about it because it really was an unique situation.
Whatever happened to the one they mentioned 2 years ago, its a shame they probably scrapped it.
This would be cool but its hilarious they mentioned Brian:
https://www.thesun.co.uk/tv/16440660/bbc-itv-battle-westlife-festive-special/
They actually replaced nicky with brian….
Performance on strictly was flawless.. well done Westlife
Great performance, that chorus is very catchy, back in the day this would have been big for them. I prefer this to hello my love even though I do like hello my love.
Straight in at 21 on the Big Top 40
https://www.bigtop40.com/
Very good performance, can’t fault anything.
Very good performance, I agree.
I shouldn't nitpick as a fan but I'm always suspicious as to whether Nicky & Kian are using playback or not. I know they can sing although I don't think you could hear them in the chorus.
As for Mark's high notes, is that the highest he's sung in chest voice? I'm assuming it's chest voice anyway.
Damn, Mark really killed it with those high notes.
I think they all sang live actually, Kian wasn't 100% clean like on the record.
Absolutely stunning performance
Anyway, My Hero is ballad right? Its length is already posted on Apple. Maybe it will be released when they perform it on Pride of Britain. Heard it's on 29th, a Friday.
No44 in the midweeks. I would expect it a lot lower, lets home it will chart
I really thought it won't chart at all. Let's hope it will stay top 75 100
Hopefully it can stay top 75.
Great performance on Strictly, the song is a real grower, really great track
Starlight debuts at 29 here in Ireland which i think they could be slightly disappointed with.
I thought it won't chart top 50 at all in Ireland. Very small playlists hype airplay support. It charted on Spotify Apple Music Deezer top 50 range only this week and for one day so it is already high for the single already
#66 in the UK with 6800... well, if there was a video and was released on friday we could have challenge for top 40
If only Radio 1 would play the damn song, they probably would have had a chance even without the video
Slight thing: the MusicWeek article says it was their lowest charting single. Not entirely correct as My Blood came in at #96.
I do think releasing it on the Friday would have helped a little. I know, Adele etc, but even then.
#6 in Sales with no physical CD available. #5 in downloads. With this two charts alone, it charted like Bop Bop Baby. The only two singles charted in the UK that the members Co wrote
Finally A list on Radio 2. And for the first time there is a promotion in Canada. They have a clip for Topsify Canada. #23 in Irish radio airplay and nothing in the UK!
Pride of Britain will be on Nov 4 so My Hero might be released on this day
#99 in todays update… good to know its close to top 100 even though it stands no chance of charting again, unless they had already released the music video… still dont understand why didnt they release it already. They had months to prepare for this release… i wonder if they will release another single with the album release….
A cd single will get it back in the top 100, is there a release date for it?
This fan upload of i wanna grow old with you exceeded 112 million views in utube
https://youtu.be/0LHmevWVvpc
Anyone can explain if those streams are counted or can be credited to Westlife in the sales of i wanna grow old with you? This should be closing in getting certified…
"Big live news coming at 11am BST tomorrow, get ready"
I guess they will announce tour dates.
Gary Barlow is now also releasing his Christmas album on November 26th, so more competition there.
Ah damn, he is usually no.1 so I guess boys could be #3 with Adele at the top and boys at #3 or even #4 with Adele at 1, Ed at 2, Gary at #3. I still think Top 5 spot is still a good achievement for an old act.
Westlife’s last album achieved better first week sales than Gary’s last album (62,621 vs 46,406), so I wouldn’t rule out Westlife doing better.
The success of Christmas albums really varies in the UK, more often than not they don’t set the charts alight but then there’s some exceptions (obviously Michael Buble but also Michael Ball/Alfie Boe did well last year). So it remains to be seen if a Gary Barlow Christmas album has strong appeal to the public.
Guys i dont think Ed sheeran will still sell that much 1 month after the release... Relax... I also doubt that gary barlow xmas album will pick up that soon... However i dont really feel Westlife doing that much of a promo to try for a big entry there and maybe thats the worse part...
anyway it doesnt look like they care for the no.1 this time cause if they do they could release the album in october, they had all the time to do so.... Maybe they hope for being relevant to xmas market in order to generate some income for the record company..
Shane said in an interview that things will heat up now so we obviously don't know their entire plan, I am sure they will do the promo for the album.
I wouldnt be overly confident that Adele wont sell 100k in week 2 or 3 for that matter.
Rumours for Aviva stadium announcement tomorrow morning and press conference
Yeah, the rumors are true.
They were originally supposed to play 2 nights at Wembley right? I think its good that it is one night, I doubt people have money for two.
And playing Aviva instead in Ireland is great for Irish fans.
With the dates released, most likely they won't have an album in November December 2022
I am happy with a new album every 2 years, that way the boys won't feel the pressure like in the old days and they can actually write more themselves.
Not sure if it's been mentioned yet but they were at the Pride of Britain Awards last night. It airs on ITV this Thursday evening (4th November) and they will be performing "My Hero" from the new album as an exclusive.
4 second clip of the new song is on ladbaby's new video post.
Nicky said 2 3 or 4 albums could be made with the new musics they made so we can never can tell if there is no another new album before July
My Hero an Ed and Steve track.
Oh its great they have been so creative, that is the first time and I am so happy for them. If they have good enough songs then they really should release them eventually.
I was just thinking, since they haven't had a tour in two years, I am hiping they will perform more songs from Spectrum and Wild Dreams, I am sick of Mandy and Home.
Nice article with Shane. He co-wrote Always With Me and it is about his parents' love story.

2-3 albums
https://www.the-sun.com/entertainment/3856593/westlife-adele-tough-competition-battle-new-music/
Thank u dear! Looking forward to new music next week and maybe a music video the following as we build up to the new album!
One question. The milestone of 55 million records sold was said like 2-3 years ago and is still mentioned… i am pretty sure the sold a couple of millions more since that day, how come this is not ‘updated’?
I still think that 55 million is exaggerated so I don't really think its more than that.
Looks like Westlife are releasing a promotional single on friday, maybe also a video for ‘My Hero’ not very keen listening to the short clip lets hope the full song will win me
Over. At least we are building up to the album release..
I remember them doing the same thing when they released Without You as a promo single. Its nice to see Shane playing the guitar with Kian
I checked Spotify with New Zealand location since it is Friday there to see if they will release My Hero officially but it looks like they won't because it is not there. However, maybe they are waiting for the Pride of Britain performance to air tonight.
That was a nice song
Its was a lovely performance, especially for the occasion. Loving the harmonies.
They released an official version and a live rehearsal video.
The Acoustic video performance of My Hero is out now on YouTube. Stunning Shane
Double post
I was just wondering if the tour will sell well considering I saw people complaining on the internet how expensive some are + we are in the time of pandemic. I see now they just added a second Aviva gig. I guess its selling well otherwise they wouldn't announce a second date.
I saw on Twitter that they had Evening With Westlife yesterday, does anybody know if/when will that be aired?
How did you guys find My Hero. Do you like it more than starlight? Reminds me of I get weak
The tour is selling well for them except for the Leeds and Sheffield dates because they have a Wembley Stadium date, yes the ticket prices are high because they want more stadium dates than arenas hahah just me speculation and they still have a year to promote it
I like My Hero but very Ed Sheeran, may appeal to 2010s generation but for some old fans it needs a stronger chorus and key change.
Maybe another song will be released before the 26th. Based on the song titles for me it is Do You Ever Think of Me, or the Wild Dreams.
The music video for Starlight, where is it? Maybe on the 19th or in January 2022 hahah
I don't think they have much saying on the price tickets, fans are pissed off which can only hurt them so I don't think they would want that. You'd think it would be cheaper considering the pandemic, people are right to be upset.
I like My Hero, its still a very Westlife ballad, it doesn't scream Ed too much haha!
They said on This Morning how Walsh pushes them to do the hits, that no one wants to hear the hew songs. Thats just ridiculous, can't he see most fans are just sick of the same old? Can't they for once skip Mandy, You Raise Me Up or Home? Since they are touring with 2 latest albums you'd think they would do 4 songs from each but you know they will pick the same hits. I hate that all of their recent tours are basically a greatest hits show. Imagine them actually having entire concert with songs from the new albums, that would be refreshing
I hope they get rid of Home or Mandy for once. They won't remove You Raise Me Up.
The stanzas only I mean are so Ed. Maybe the chorus not.
I hope they get rid of Home or Mandy. They won't remove You Raise Me Up. I understand their side because I went to concerts too and most people only know their hits and not the new songs sadly
The verses only I mean are so Ed. Maybe the chorus not.
I'd like to hear Another Life, Without You and Repair live (from Spectrum). A shame they didn't get to tour that album.
Of the classics I'm not really bothered about Home or Mandy. Keep World of Our Own, Flying Without Wings, You Raise Me Up etc of course. My Love, I preferred it when they did the acapella breakdown on the Where We Are and Greatest Hits tours.
Would also be quite nice to hear them cover some Ed Sheeran songs - Perfect could easily be a Westlife song (for example).
Loving my hero !! I am not a westlife fan !!
Video will be out tomorrow.
My hero only at No76 as of today. It doesnt look like it will chart.
I keep saying this but I think this but I think this is the reality now for the boys. Years ago they could have performed on a big show like Pride of Britain and that would have helped them to score no.1 but that is no the case now.
Video for starlight must be their worst ever :/
https://youtu.be/0fT2amS9KZ4
I quite liked the video and the effects
I love it but I can see why you guys react like that
Also invest on some duets instead of taking the cheap way out..
They can do all that and I still think it wouldn't matter a lot, unless they duet with huge stars like Adele or BTS. I still think Starlight and My Hero are quality songs so I wouldn't put a blame on the songs.
All I can say is I love and appreciate the work that they do recently, small or big. The moment I saw the video I knew there would be reactions like this. Why comparing it to their old stuff? We live in a totally different world now, we are not in the 2000s anymore. Why keep on saying this is their reality now in the singles charts, I can still see them doing well in the chart if they and the record companies want to, so many other strategies left and they still have a decade to do that and they are not in a rush. it is just they want to explore things now
I agree we shouldn't compare the music now to what it was. Thats like saying, if Tina Turner released a song today, you go "its good but its no Private Dancer or Simply The Best".
I think both of these new songs are great songs, its because many other reasons the boys aren't lighting up the charts.
Also, who knows what the label even tried but maybe they just couldn't achieve what thy wanted. Its not like Hello My Love had a bigger promo, its just that Westlfe came back after 7 years with a bop so even non-WL fans were casually interested.
OR, yes, they simply think its not worth bleeding money on it if it won't chart well anyway, I can see some logic behind it to be honest, especially during the pandemic.
In other news My hero is on a free fall now so not a chance of it charting :/
I watched the video couple of times and I changed my mind - its not that bad, the effects are nice.
I can't wait for the album, I will switch to New Zealand for sure on the 25th
Westlife will be chatting and performing on The Jonathan Ross Show next Saturday.
I just remeber it was always set as 19 November in the release schedule, but the jonathan ross show comfirms that. I highly highly doubt Westlife would chart lower than Abba and Ed Sheeran, unless their new album sells really low this time which is my biggest fear. Only big obstacle looks to be Adele especially seeing there is not much momentum for Westlife this time around…. Lets seee. Ed sheeran 2nd week had a 70% decrease, i believe all the acts will have the same.
Interesting article
Looks like they know it also
https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/16732765/westlife-rapper-ksi-top-charts/
I have been saying this since forever that they probably won't get #1.
Unless you mean that mistake about their album being released next week. Don't forget they are the ones who swapped Brian for Nicky so I am sure they are simply incompetent again
any fellow fan here was able to order any different colour of the album other than the pink one on a normal shipping price? Also the yellow one is not available on amazon to me....
I have the signed green one coming! How much are they wanting to charge you for delivery? The yellow one is showing as £12.99 for me on Amazon.
Disappointed that they didn't release another song before the album.
Ageism?
No boys that's the music industry.
You weren't complaining about late 70s and early 80s bands not being playlisted in Radio 1 at the height of your fame.
Charis, if you need anything ordered here then sent you, let me know and I will sort. You are a very passionate fan and I don't want you to miss out.
Good performance on Jonathan Ross' show just now.
Parts of it (namely Nicky & Kian's solos & Mark's high notes) sounded very similar to the Strictly performance to me though.
They will be on Radio 2 with Rylan Clark on December 11th.
Do they have a plan to chart high next week? I hope they do. Maybe some new versions of the album and some signed copies. Its gna be tough
Westlife are in Notebook magazine:
https://www.yourcelebritymagazines.com/products/style-magazine-21-november-2021-westlife-world-exclusive
They are now the most subscribed Irish pop band on YouTube after overtaking The Script with 3.91m subs
Hope for the best charis
Did anyone check how are tickets for Aviva and Wembley doing, is the sale for these gigs going well?
Boys will be on Zoe Ball Breakfast Show this Friday and will perform live.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0011thn
I will DM you Charis.
My hopes for the album are not great, no previews or anything doesn't help. From the outside, with the cheap video and lack of music etc. it looks like the album is a side project to them making money touring! I'd rather them have quit after the last album if they are going to turn into a Boyzone type act! That 'something special' has disappeared.
I look at other artists like taylor swift ed sheeran are pushing it when it doesnt go their way.... Westlife don't, just share a few pics for a couple of days and then hide in their ireland ranchos. Next week their only real competition is adele's second week which most likely sell somewhere around spectrum sold the first week. Just push it, do some signings, some new bundles, new colours...
Calling them a Boyzone act is a bit harsh when by the end they only released cover albums. How can it be a side project when they literally built music studio in their homes and co-wrote majority of the songs just for this album? I think they care more for this album than anything ever before because they had the biggest input in it. Just because they aren't everywhere who says they actually can be? Maybe it is hard to book high exposure.
And at the end of the day, if they want to be only a tour act, its their choice, I am sure millions would be happy even with that.
I agree about the bundle thing but having signings in the time of the pandemic would be simply crazy.
Maybe I am overreacting a bit however a Westlife release has always felt special, maybe come Friday I will feel different. I hope the music delivers!
Westlife calendar if someone is interested. Those group shots look fun
https://danilo.com/products/westlife-2022-a3-wall-calendar
A fan asked the boys on The One Show will they sing some old album tracks and Mark said they always consider that but he made a joke out of it how they see people going to the toilet during those so they ultimately decide to bring Mandy back.
Joking aside, they really should do that once, I am tired of seeing every tour as Greatest Hits tour.
I started listening to the album.
They only haven't been involved in 3 songs. Its all Mark/Shane, only on Alive did Nicky write with 2 songwriters.
I have to say its odd to think that you get 3 bops right of the bat.
Lifeline melody chorus reminds me of some other song but I can't put my finger on which one.
Highlights so far are Alive, Rewind, Do You Ever Think Of Me. I am actually shocked its all very mid/up tempo, its definitely a different Westlife album.
Where did you hear it? I wish I was more excited!
Who says I am not excited? I am sick to be honest, I can barely swallow and I am coughing so much
In any case, there is nothing wrong with it, I am just surprised how boppy it is, they are just 2 proper ballads besides My Hero.
It definitely goes with the line of Take You There that Mark and Shane did, its a new sound and its theirs.
Honestly, the only song that I am not thrilled with so far is Magic, its kind of too cheesy but its still an ok uptempo.
Oh and the album is out in New Zealand so I just used VPN and checked NZ Spotify
I can't get to VPN thing right now ugh I am at work. Will try later. Excited. Heard the first three tracks are uptempo
how do u change country in spotify?
no need. they work on youtube
myxxd i will give u an update soon
Alone Together -> Probably a Westlife song like no other before. Club song. Cute and nice btw! like it a lot.
Wild Dreams -> Did i really open a Westlife album or someone is trolling me?
Lifeline -> Starts amazingly well, Shane is killing it, becomes a bit boring towards the end. Might need to grow on me
Alive -> Not very excited for this.
Rewind -> saving it for now. nice modern ballad.
[still waiting for that One Last Time type of song]
Do you ever think of me -> Nice enough. Very modern midtempo tune.
End of time -> lovely modern ballad.
Magic -> The L.O.V.E. type song in spectrum. i actually prefer this one to LOVE though. Just ok.
Always with me -> The usual finishing ballad. Average but still better than Another Life.
Sum up: We are still missing the big hit... All in all i would rate the album 7/10. Similar to spectrum quality wise.
I have downloaded tunnelbear and changed to NZ but can't change it on Spotify?
Listening now! Lifeline is better than anything since their comeback! Stunning. Wish there was more ballads!
How to change the country in Spotify.
we want a video for Wild Dreams please. And push it in the US.
Does Lifeline sound familiar to you? Its like I heard some parts before but I can't remember where.
Wow Wild Dreams, Alone Together are the songs that you hear in the radio right now also my favorites Alive and Do You Ever Think Of Me so far. Love them all.
Old style song but kinda unexpected from them is Magic. Love it
I find this review from Alan Corr a bit funny because in the text its mostly a positive review and yet he gave it 2 stars
https://www.rte.ie/entertainment/music-reviews/2021/1124/1263013-westlife-back-falling-between-two-stools-on-new-album/
Alone together and wild dreams should be singles and can be successfull in the whole world
Their upbeat songs here are on another higher level compared to Spectrum
This looks like a review from someone who isn't familiar with their past music if its branded as same old:
https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/reviews/westlife-review-peter-capaldi-album-b1964230.html
I mean, what kind of progress is anyone expecting, there is nothing wrong with upbeat pop songs.
Also, they aren't doing a 2nd comeback, that part is also ridiculous.
Let's talk about the ballads
End of Time and My Hero are the best in the album. Don't like the Amy Wadge songs like Diane Warren's I Did it For You on Turnaround.
iTunes:
#1 Indonesia
#2 Australia
#2 New Zealand
Really like the album so far but waiting till I listen to it properly tomorrow. Really annoyed they have tacked 4 old live song onto the end, cheapens it. Still love lifeline and end of time.
Many liked Lifeline because Shane is stunning but the emphasis on the word Lifeline is kind of annoying to me. Love the haunting background of it.
The inclusion of their old songs are for the sales. It worked with Shane's Love Always
I’ve listened to the previews on iTunes and it’s doing absolutely zero for me. Not going to bother with this one sadly.
Just finished listening to all of the new tracks. Enjoying Alive, End of Time, and Magic on the first listen.
Alive sounds pretty EDM-ish which is also pretty interesting.
They are live now:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/live:bbc_radio_two
Industry insiders predict a no.79 belly flop!!!
Many industry insiders are wondering why they are bothering to subject us to more karaoke trash too.
Can one of the moderators block this guy for sharing lies and for hatred?
Lies and hatred? That was Westshite in their mission to desteoy the spice girls. Sexist trash.
They threw PORK PIES at them in real life, ATTACKED them at every turn to get press and stamp over them to their fake no.1s, like Justin did to Britney, all the while releasing COVER SONGS THAT SIMON COWELL GAVE THEM WHILST THE SPICES WROTE THEIR OWN SONGS AND MUSIC VIDEOS!!!! They just EXPECTED to be populsr because they were men without a fraction of the effort the Spices put in.
We're not talking about an album release, as Forever was shite, but systematic destruction of the biggest gitl band of all time by a fake karaoke act full of hate, sexism and jealousy, oh, and bad karaoke covet songs given to them by Cowell. FLUSH.
Hahah, they threw pork pies, really, what a fascinating FAKE story.
Please leave this thread and go to Spice Girls appreciation one.
Anyway, another bad review but what else is new, divorce dad energy is hilarious way to describe the album, I give her that:
https://www.theguardian.com/music/2021/nov/26/westlife-wild-dreams-review-warner-divorced-dad-energy
Nope, not fake, the sexists were out for the Spices, esp because Cowell and Louis Walsh, who also tried to show power ovet Mel B by squeezing her bum on tv, sexual assault, were FUMING they passed up on the biggest girl band of all time. They wanted to destroy them, and used sexistlife, who were all too eager to do it.
Btw coqst to coast was bought 3-4 times more than spice’s album so what are we debating here?
Oh so does that equate 3 times the quality?! Do you apply that to Adele? xThe fact is Westshite DESTROYED the Spices, or they finished off the job from the Spices fes destroying the Spices. Theyr eleased nothing but karaoke trash and Coast to Coast was every bit of much of a turgid turd as Forever, but at least Forever had three great songs on it!!! Westshite are appalling musically, ethically, ans in terms of gender and feminist theory. FLUSH.
Charis, don't argue with him, just ignore it because its useless, he lives in his own little world.
You literally praise a manufactured, talentless karaoke band as if they were god's gift. I guess SOME PEOPLE can't deal with reality and use COGNITIVE DISSONANCE to try and disassociate the RAMPANT AND EVIL sexism of Westshite with their trashy music. Sorry bout it!
Are u getting paid for using the words shire and sexist?
Are you not embarrassed to have been so taken in by pure marketing? You hear Westshite on stage at a local pub and they're unknown ans you don't give two shits about their covets. Hear the Spices oe Girls Aloud and you KNOW they have something special with their sangs and energy. Westshite have nothing about them, no artistic integrity, just empty money suits in the past to big businessmen, and now just empty suits of botox.
Again please leave this thread and don't ruin the joy for everybody else.
Botox my ass, they all have wrinkles, do you need glasses?
They have been doing the same thing for years and have been criticized for it and now they aren't, they should have stuck to their old guns? They simply can't win with the critics
https://retropopmagazine.com/westlife-wild-dreams-review/
As I said you need to be commercially strong to be get good reviews. All of them were describing adeles latest album her best ever… not even close to it for me.
I deffinitely skip less songs on this album compared to spectrum ( dance, LOVE, another life)
I think i only skip always with me on this one
No1 in the UK itunes at the moment. No21 in Apple Music
Alive that Nicky co-wrote, the chorus is about world moving on and how everything will eventually get better but I think he was thinking about his kids while writing this, the way he sings about knowing the trees and missing friends from school.
I really like the song and that little thing Mark does near at the end with "I'll come alive".
https://www.music-news.com/news/UK/145006/Westlife-open-up-on-pandemic-struggles
The 'You Raise Me Up' singers - which comprise of Mark Feehilly, 41, Brian McFadden, 41, Shane Filan, 42, Kian Egan, 41, and Keith Duffy, 47 - have released their new album 'Wild Dreams' on 26.11.2021
This is crazy. Seriously its done on purpose
Some great tunes. 'Alone Together' and 'Do You Ever Think Of Me' are interesting. 'Wild Dreams' is also boppin'.
Listening to the Radio 2 performance from this morning.
Generally good, at least it was fully live and I can see why Kian prefers to use playback for his bit in Starlight
Will listen to the album either tonight or tomorrow.

Not much sense above i tried to make an estimation on how much Adele will sell next week based on how other acts behaved. I think my prediction can have +- 10%. However its a very big amount of sales to even compete. Unless i am way out of my calculations. Based on spectrum release which was on pre order for 1 year or so, this year we have 4 different versions which might help if fans are there, right? what usually happens to other physical selling artists?
After some listens this is a really good pop album. Could be successfull in europe. There are no songs to skip maybe missing the big hit but still a great one.
What do u think?
No matter how good the songs are they will never have a big hit again, starlight is excellent for me and deserves to be a hit.
I think I prefer starlight to hello my love but both are right up there with their best singles for me, back in the day it would have been 2 more number 1s, but like so many other artists they are an album and tour act now as that's where money can be made.
If they are an album act they should challenege afele 2nd week - what do u think?
When i say big bit i mean FWW / WOOO/ YRMU type of song
Starlight is the right single off the album. Noticed every five years they have Light on the title on their singles. Lighthouse, Sunlight now Starlight
This album is also their first one not to have a heart or love in the title of the songs
I love this album, so proud of their hard work. even Lifeline and on loudspeaker which is rare for me as I always use headsets. Rewind are growers for me. I keep on repeating this especially uptempos more than Spectrum and some of their previous albums
Charis where did you get the info that they are ahead on the chart?
Latest statement of Westlife about Brian
Kian said his actions after his departure have left him and his bandmates scratching their heads.
He said: “As the years rolled on we didn’t have any contact with Brian.
“He left Westlife, he said he didn’t like the music, he said he didn’t want to sing the songs, and you know, he didn’t want to be going on stage singing the songs we were singing, and he said he’s done. And he told us he wanted to go home to be with his family but then a few months later he had a solo album.
“He said he didn’t want to do music, they were his words to us.
Myxxd its no info, its just a thought which makes sense cause adele was stable on around 15k +- albums / day. I would expect westlife to open higher than this, but the silence of occ and keep releasing articles anout every record adele has broken drives me nuts…
It's not as good as 'Spectrum' which was the first Westlife album I really liked. The highlights on this are 'Wild Dreams', 'Do You Ever Think Of Me', 'Magic' and obviously 'Starlight'.
I saw someone on Twitter point out Do You Ever Think Of Me sounds like Chances by Backstreet Boys.
I can hear some similarities but its not a blatant copy if you ask me.
Yeah I don't think they would have lasted for 14 years. Brian is a great singer/songwriter but there is always something immature about him. Maybe he is different now but back in the day I remember boys saying it annoyed them he wasn't serious at the proper moment, when it was time to work. You can't just fool around all the time.
yesterday's album sales
13.5k Adele
5.1k Ed
3.3k Abba
1.9k Westlife
1 Adele - 30 (46.2k)
2 Westlife - Wild Dreams (30.6k) *
3 Ed Sheeran - = (16.1k)
4 Gary Barlow - The Dream of Christmas (14.0k) *
5 ABBA - Voyage (11.5k)
I am not surprised, I expected this. Are sales from tickets pre-order calculated in this?
Yes
They should stay to p3 with those sales, they could do another 10k for the week.
Was only expecting 20k tbh. Nice sales for them
There is a real fight for #2 i believe we have to make it… where are the fans?
I thought the same thing when Mark released his genuinely brilliant debut. Sales have obviously dropped a lot though, that is obvious.
https://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/westlifes-top-20-biggest-songs-on-the-official-charts__25303/
I had no idea Hello My Love was that successful, that it ends up at #8 of their biggest singles.
yes I said Hello My Love will soon be in the top 10.
And Better Man already on the 20th. Together with Hello My Love, It will go up
1.1m for Uptown Girl
800k for Flying Without Wings
I really think they can still come back in the singles chart. it's just that we have ABBA with their last album and Adele with her album in six years now. 14th top 5 album is already a celebration.
Below
We are comparing 2 different things though. Streaming era made it very difficult for a song ti habe a peak week but it helps a lot on total sales. Look at when u r looking like that, the song is going to become gold in a couple of years just because of introduction of streaming. World of our own is also getting platinum soon, uptown girl added another 300-350 k streaming sales, better man is on the verge of becoming silver too, right behind the rose which was a #1 lead single! With the big concerts in the summer many songs will get a boost, maybe even starlight
I have to say this album is turning out to be my favorite, they finally dethroned World Of Or Own for me. So I would say my Top 5 is:
1. Wild Dreams
2. World Of Our Own
3. Where We Are
4. Spectrum
5. Gravity
Its really sad it took a damn pandemic for them to make an album they were heavily involved in, I hope this gives them confidence to continue like that in the future
For me the first 3 albums, and more specially C2C and World of our own cannot be beaten by anything. However indeed with this album i am so happy it's better than many of them than followed.

WYLLT 3 years ago had 11m streams and now has 25m
5 songs passed My Love with 18m streams. Hello My Love and When your looking like that are 2 of them. i am wondering which are the next 3 [I WANNA GROW OLD WITH YOU, IF I LET YOU GO,SWEAR IT AGAIN,WHAT ABOUT NOW, BETTER MAN, I'LL SEE YOU AGAIN ?]
World of our own should be platinum early next year.
Regarding Better Man I am not sure if it's still being streamed enough in order to reach getting silver soon, but if it passed When you tell me that you love me, it should be close, as WYTMTYLM sold 120k copies during the year of release and i think it has around 5-6 million streams.
Anyone who has and wants to add more info to help me feel free
Admittedly I’m not the biggest Westlife fan, but they do have some pretty good songs.
I’ll have to give my top 5. It’ll need a bit of thought though.
Choosing my Top 5 was a little trickier than I though. I have a clear Top 3 which is: (In no particular order)
Flying Without Wings
Uptown Girl
World Of Our Own
The next 2 were a bit tougher but I've narrowed it down to:
When You're Looking Like That
My Love
Picking a top 5 is a tough one! I’d have to go:
1. Amazing
2. Hello My Love
3. If I Let You Go
4. When You’re Looking Like That
5. What About Now
1. World of Our Own
2. Hello My Love
3. Starlight
The only other one I can occasionally put up with on a good day is 'If I Let You Go', everything else is total garbage.
Songs like flying without wings cannot be callled garbage
if there are no much missing streams then Ed Sheeran could close 37-38k a number Westlife will beat I think by Friday.
the interesting thing is that if they released the album last week it would already have #2 in the bag
Anyone else in the 0.1% listeners on Spotify 😂
But i cant manage ti see this, do i need a premium user cause i dont have one and anyway it doesnt work for Me
I believe you do need to be a premium user, it is well worth it though!
Review-Part One
Starlight- 8/10
Loved this on first lesson although I use the other songs a lot more, maybe due to them being newere to be fair. Kian and Nicky do not sound the strongest on this however I like the melodies. Mark sounds great as usual and brings power to the song. The anthemic chorus is going to make this song popular at gigs. Not my main choice for a single but it serves it's purpose. Favourite part is when the second chorus carries on longer with the chant of 'DANCING at the speed of light'. Poor video however the song does not disappoint.
Alone together- 8.5/10
Another anthemic uptempo song started by Shane with a great start to the verse followed by one of Kian's strong points, a nice pre-chorus! The chorus is strong and does what it needs to do! This song is lyrically not the strongest however is not meant to be, it's a fun song with an addictive chorus. Nicky has another small part and Mark sounds mellow on this track although the bridge from him is a strong point of the song. Really good song and perhaps would have been a good first single to show where their music is now heading.
Wild Dreams- 9.5/10
Now we are talking! Shane once again starts the song and Nicky and Kian both have parts where they are both excellent, they sound in their comfort zone! This mid-tempo song has a catchy chorus and jumps between band members, the choruses end with a strange psychedelic beat which is like nothing they have done before! Mark sounds perfect on the chorus and this with a great video and pushed as a single would be a surprise to all! The sudden end to the song is brilliant and the song can be described as a rollercoaster of a song.
Lifeline- 10/10
Stunning! Just stunning! Shane excels on here, his vocals are made for this type of song. The haunting sound with the beautiful piano sound makes this a highlight of not only the album, but their entire career! No part is stronger than the rest of the song, it just flows and although Shane excels, Mark in traditional westlife ballad style comes in to deliver an incredible second chorus. He restrains his voice and just sounds perfect. You here shades of Nicky and Kian on the middle 8 but this is a song they are best left out of in the nicest possible way. The song gets better with each listen and is a perfect ballad ending with Shane singing 'always' in a delicate tone. Perfection and the song of the year for me.
They will be on The Late Late Show tomorrow night.
I would think they may have a chance of overtaking Adele for Number 1 in Ireland.
Review- Part 2
Alive- 9.5/10
Shane with another masterclass, vocals on points here! Lyrically sounds very personal and seems like it's about the pandemic and things becoming brighter (alive). This is far from a generic upbeat dance track which I feared it would be at first. Nicky sounds strong on the pre-second chorus the EDM beat sounds great and suits them. Mark decides to let loose a bit and shows of his powerhouse vocals especially toward the end.
Rewind- 7/10
Not a bad song but feels like a filler compared to most of the album. A nice mid-tempo track with a slightly weak chorus. Would have fitted on some of their mid-career albums. Nicky and Kian do not sound as strong on this however not too bad. Not keen on the strange end to the chorus and the beat is...just there. Surprised the track was included but it's not too bad. The bar has been raised on this album hence the slight negativity.
Do you ever think of me 10/10
2nd best on the album, absolutely stunning. From the atmospheric sound at the start you just know it's going to be a great song. Shane start again and rightly so with Mark soon coming in with his strong pre-chorus. The chorus is strong with a brilliant melody which does not leave your head. Kian has a nice small part and it all flows. The 'it just don't make sense' part is full of sincerity. The drum in the background at times is so effective and the production is on point. The beat at the end completes a magical song. Sounds stronger than anything on Marks solo outing however it sounds like a song he would love!
I am so obsessed with ‘ do you ever think of me ‘ i mean its been a long time since i lastly enjoyed an album track that much.
I'm pleasantly surprised to see them at no. 2. I don't know why but it's a pretty good showing.
Yep, this looks safe for #2 now. A pretty good achievement I think.
debuts at 2 in Ireland behind Adele.
Really think Westlife should release a Xmas songs for the fans, shame they have never done an original one.
Still laugh how seasons in the sum was released at Christmas, the least festive song ever 😂
Amazing to think this got to 2 on good sale considering there was not the comeback hype or big single.
Performance of Starlight on Late Late Show - watch out for Mark dropping his mic in the final chorus:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYaEinxakXI
Mark recovered very quickly after dropping the mic and git a nice high five in to
Thank you Charis for your analysis. You got it right with 38k. It is a miracle Ed Sheeran's numbers slowed down. Amazing I Wanna Grow Old With You and I Will See You Again have high streaming numbers in UK.
Hello My Love was played on Live with Kelly and Ryan show
I'm really enjoying starlight, the late late show performance had me totally hooked again despite it been a lower budget performance than strictly.
Anyone keeps a list eith bands with most certifications? I think Take That are one certification ahead of Westlife but i see that changing next couple of years if they remain active
#7 at midweeks with sales 5k +
It’s held up a little better than I expected. I’ wonder if it’ll drop any lower by Friday.
With 5000 sales already reached this week a Top 10 position looks secure.
33,206 Wild Dreams physical CDs sold in the UK last week. Source Music Week

Anyone know where they are in midweeks, if they are top 10 then they have purposely been left out of the updates.
I’d guess they’re at #8. 1-7 and 9 & 10 have been shown. So that leaves me thinking they’re at 8.
Down 2 to 4 in Ireland this week, i was expecting top 2 here again this week.
07 10,210 Little Mix - Between Us
08 10,207 Westlife - Wild Dreams
Only 3 copies, wow that’s close.

Crazy to think we are not going to get another single or video. The Starlight video was awful and it's starting to look like all they care about is touring money. Even small artists make the effort to make videos for fans. They literally come across like they couldn't care less anymore which is a real shame. Even Boyzone made a few videos per album! Disappointed
Have they confirmed there'll be no more singles?
And u can understand that with their effort to put out an acoustic video for my hero, low budget, but still no impact unfortunaterly. Keep in mind that no tour is done the last 2 years, so no actual income
I get what you're saying but surely even low budget videos could be possible?
Steps are seeming to mange multiple singles/videos per album since they've been back and non of there singles would be certified silver.
Totally agree, had i been their manager a lot of things would be different but probably they know better… apparently money moves it all
Hahaha, oh well. At least the fans are getting something I guess.
My Hero has been playlisted by Radio 2 today. There's your single
#12 in the mids, didnt expect it to fall that much :/
They might get back in the top 10 by the end of the week.
Why?
#9 on sales of 3k so its a bit lower than this at #12. I was hoping to get silver this week but not happening. Shame cause i think its better album than spectrum all in all.
You think I'm being negative but I'm not, just a frustrated fan. It is better than Spectrum but that had 4 videos (3 good ones) and advertising. How can they expect sales to be as good when there is no effort.
They have income coming in from the tour that is guaranteed. The smallest acts can make half decent videos and get them out ON TIME these days.
Be that as it may, having Starlight video on time wouldn't have made any difference because there was no buzz surrounding their release, not like Hello My Love which was definitely fueled by the fact it was a first single after 7 years and maybe even the fact that Ed wrote it for them.
Relax and enjoy. At least we have an album and its not an in-hurry cheap release. If the tour goes ahead especially wembley all will start to look better i think
Exactly. I think us as fans sometimes worry too much about charting and sales. Did they give us a good album? Yes, an an album they were heavily involved after a long time. That is all that matters, the rest that happens isn't solely on them, we don't really know everything that goes around them. I just think saying they don't care is an easy answer and a bit unfair, otherwise we wouldn't have gotten Wild Dreams. Its not all about charting, they all look very happy and relaxed - I'd rather have them like this while they enjoy being as Westlife than stressing out and wanting to quit.
Westlife will do an online concert on WeChat for Chinese fans, hopefully someone will upload it on Youtube.
Trailer for it is cute:
https://youtu.be/pT7_34vD57M
Love that trailer!
It’s now #8 in the mids. Honestly it’s doing really well in its third week, considering that it isn’t big on streaming and doesn’t have big singles! A lot of artists suffer way worse declines in the second week, let alone the third.
Just to compare them with another big boyband, JLS’ comeback album charted at #4 and is currently midweek #35 in week 2 (and even that isn’t awful compared to some second week positions).
Yeah I think both are doing relatively well when you compare them to others.
Given this album a few listens now and really enjoying it bar the two singles, which I actually think are two of the weakest tracks. Alone Together is the stand out for me. Hopefully gets released to radio in time as I think it would be received well.
Their Chinese live concert seems to be succefull with 20 million viewers at the moment. They also sung a Chinese song!
08 9,471 Juice WRLD - Fighting Demons [9,268 streaming, 203 downloads]
09 9,464 Westlife - Wild Dreams
Again only 7 copies below the position above
Total sales: 58.098. Silver “tomorrow” lets now ‘push’ for gold certification
Album performing very well.
The Chinese live concert reached as high as 27 million views and 200 million likes
They have a different streaming platforms like qq
Another week in the top 10 is impressive. I was expecting a much quicker drop off.
They could be lucky and stay top 10 this coming week aswell.
