They've just announced tour dates in India.

The current setlist appears to have dropped the ABBA Medley and has brought in 'Nothing's Gonna Change My Love For You', 'Seasons in the Sun', 'Beautiful World' and 'Home'.

Beautiful World particularly strikes me as a random choice - although I don't mind the song there's still barely anything from the two more recent albums. Having seen the clip from the recent Shanghai concert though they seem to have split the verses a bit so Kian & Nicky get a solo.

I always thought it was madness that ‘Lighthouse’ got chosen as the first single from their greatest hits over ‘Beautiful World’

Yeah, Beautiful World struck me as a more impactful song and I get the impression they didn't fancy Lighthouse that much given they didn't sing it on their Greatest Hits tour.

Looks like Swear It Again is certified PLATINUM last week (600.000 units) [last update in March 2021 - WESTLIFE -- SWEAR IT AGAIN :: 516k]
2.5 years later adds an extra 84k, which averages 2.8k per month, 600-700 units per week.

Also they are enjoying an amazing tour in China at the moment selling out stadiums.

They performed 'The Ordinary Road' (the Chinese song they originally performed as part of a WeChat concert) at some of the China concerts.

I imagine they've got no immediate plans to release anything new but a Christmas song or something would be nice. Just for old times sake (re the Xmas No. 1).

If 2025 will be their next concert tour for their 25th anniversary. They considered to start the count of their 25 years in 1999 now and not in 1998 then

Is this pointing to them releasing anything new this year? That's assuming I've interpreted it as them taking a break from touring.

Would they release an anew greatest hits? I know they’ve only had two albums since coming back though.

Well it didn't stop Steps I suppose, nothing to say they couldn't do the same!

I would be keen on them doing a 're-imagined' greatest hits like Take That did in 2018, with re-recordings of their hits.

Technically Steps had 3 albums between 2017-2021 before the Platinum Collection, but artists have done it with less.

I’d be up for that.

Mark won't be on the US tour. I didn't realise that he had it so bad.

Yeah his life was in danger indeed… now I wonder, he mentioned somekind of hernia. English is not my main language but as far as I know hernia is irrelevant to his voice surgeries and old sepsis issues right? And I think this is more of a routine operation isnt it?

Yep! A hernia is definitely unrelated however after having 3 more major ops, a minor op is still not ideal. I had the hernia op and I was in and out the same morning.

Good on him for taking time with his family. Selfishly, I’m a bit gutted we won’t get new music any time soon but I genuinely don’t think they care about the music anymore and just want the money from touring.

To be honest, I think that's the case with all artists. More money in touring than record sales these days.

Its not necessarily a matter of getting the money bur more of a sustainability issue. We all worked in businesses and know the world of business is ruthless. If u dont generate funds you are sent home. I am pretty sure they created the previous album on a financial loss. However this break from touring could open the idea for some new music

They actually had 4 albums between The Ultimate Collectionand The Platinum Collection.
2012 - Light up the world
2017 - Tears on the Dancefloor
2020 - What the future holds
2021 - What the future holds: Part 2

There was also two live albums (Party on the Dancefloor, What the future Holds Live), a remix (Stomp All Night: The Remixes) and a re-release with bonus tracks of TOTDF (Crying at the discotheque) too.
