Congrats Rob! 'Thunder' was an instant standout for me so I'm happy that it lived up to its potential here. Top 15 for Bizarrap is amazing to see too, what a banger *.*
Fun fact, my 18 to Oslol was the only points they got from the entire jury. A$H deserved better but I was just glad for her to be in the contest at all. Thanks everyone for another great year, looking forward to TBO or 151 whichever one starts first

Very happy to be 8th with Madeline! That’s a new record of four top 10’s in a row for me and I think fingers crossed I am 5th in the EOY which is crazy! Thank you for all the votes! Very happy Madison Rose is our winner as she was my 18! Great pop done so well!

Right sawree for taking forever to get this done, I outsourced to Arizona's election counters (in all seriousness I was working on this last night and then accidentally fell asleep #Math and was unable to regain the attention span needed to continue until this evening

A belated thank you to Dobbo for giving us a second 18
 plus further double figure points amongst the jury vote from Rollo, Mack and Travis and a few points from Cow Cow, 'only' 5 voters there but finishing pretty high up the jury list due to most of those being quite high points! (and also belated thanks to Meekul whose points I just forgot to acknowledge x #beaversephonia contest will happen one of these days xo)I feel a bit silly now that I nearly shied away from entering 'Fall To Pieces' due to being uncertain if it would even qualify and not wanting to break my streak short of 20 - ended up winning the semi and giving me my best final result of the year / first medal position since Minuit Machine a little over 2 years ago! It was one that I got into a lot more after relistening to it a few times so that just made me think it might not be the most instant track as far as techno bangers go but clearly did manage to connect pretty well with people in the end, we love to see it. Also just about beat Hazel English's points total (245 vs. 241) to be my highest scoring entry of the year. I had an inkling I'd do at least decently well in the final considering I was privy to the semi results but I thought that semi 1 top 2 was runaway enough that it would likely be the final top 2 as well so a pleasant surprise that I (just barely) beat Lookylion - interesting that they and Summericia appealed pretty much equally to the pop dominated semi 1 but Summericia raced so far ahead in the final. And I guess it makes sense that FARC picked up from their semi result but I did think based on those that people were overpredicting them a little, ended up being right on the money though! As a certified double platinum indie hag this is the third month in a row that I placed the winner in my bottom 10 (and frankly I remember nothing about it at all - I already knew it had won the semi before I heard it and even then it made no impression on me at all oops, perhaps should give it another listen x) and I end the year having only voted for one of the winners (aamourocean right at the start of the year) but really can't argue with a winner being nearly 100 points ahead of all competition! I just continue to be laughably out of touch with how the pop bloc's taste works. Well done on joining the two wins club anyhow Roba, even if neither of your winners have exactly been highlights of your entries for me Only voted for 2 of the top 10 but it is a great surprise to see Fljótavík being up there as high as 7th, that was far and away my favourite song from semi 1, giving me similar vibes to that robbed Omar Souleyman entry. And yay for fellow techno banger FSR Rontvia being top 10 too though that one is a little less surprising. Danæviia and Kluminican Republic (this one grew on me a lot) were also in my commiserations though and of course I was top 10 myself so it's overall not a bad top 10 really - as far as the pop bloc faves go I thought St. Burbia's was quite good too, ranked 25th for me. A shame that Jadakissnia fell only just short of the top 10 in the end there </3 (especially as to this day we've still only ever once both finished top 10 in the same contest!) but still a pretty good result, glad to see Thelonia and Ingermanlandia top 15 with them too, especially the latter considering they only qualified due to N DNTN's non-voting! Also decent results for Kathaldazia, Sovarasma, Terra Avium, Utopia and Pagasa (+ Quintessa before their deduction). Aeroche a bit lower than I'd have predicted although still continuing a great top 20 streak and will have been more than enough for them to be pretty easily EOY #1 (yes the EOY thread is still coming in the hopefully not too distant future x), biggest disappointment of these final results for me though is Lotunia as that was a very easy 18 for me and I'd have thought its niche would have been big enough to carry it to top 20 at the very least if not top 10  Also Florina really didn't deserve to come last! Although their wooden spoon collecting in these last few months is kind of ikonek.Happy to finally wash my hands of another Oslol contest xx (seriously though thanks imaduck for your hosting efforts even if I had to step in as supply teacher just a few times here and there). |
