Bulgaria have had quite the turnaround. Since returning to the contest in 2016, they've finished 4th and 2nd respectively. That's better than Sweden! So it comes as no surprise that Bulgaria will once again be selecting their 2018 entry behind closed doors. The entry will be revealed on 12th March, but who would you like to see represent them in Lisbon? Rumours suggest that a previous Bulgarian representative has submitted to the selection.
Gery-Nikol to finally get it tbh (although she screams fan fave 16th place). If it's gonna be a previous entrant then Poli with another absolute banger would be fine by me *.*
(Yaknow I could've SWORN we had a Bulgaria thread already)
I have very high expectations from Bulgaria, if anything you could almost say they were a touch TOO high! Hope they don't disappoint.
I'd like Azis to have a go. He did backing vocals for Mariana Popova (Let Me Cry in 2006).

Hyped *.*
The preview tweet described this as a "Dark, modern "silent"/soulful ballad" with "Deep emotions, Very spiritual" and a "Powerful Chorus"
The song should be up at some point tomorrow.
3 for 3 in Bulgaria's comeback!
I applaud! Another high class entry - glossy, well produced, lovely. Not sure how well those vocals gel though?
Not sure what I think on first listen. I don't dislike it, but I don't think it's as instant or good as Poli or Kristian's efforts. However I do think with a few listens I'll be loving it and its darkness.
I do actually wonder if this will make the final from the semi of death? I'd imagine they'll put a hell of a lot into making the performance of it epic though so probably.
It's professional and slick but I can't say I'm particularly enamoured by it... It's pretty disappointing really
Yeah, I'm a bit disappointed but hopefully it'll grow.
Whoever sings the first bit, their voice is going right through me and really putting me off. It's like a cross between Sam Smith and Rationale:/
I really like it but the vocals together in the second chorus are not working, so baffled how this will sound live. I think there's a chance this could fail to qualify (though not likely) as it carries a high risk that this may now work in execution.
I really like this, however, they will need backup vocalists to balance the chorus out and they should really have one of them taking the lead and doing adlibs on the final chorus to stop it plodding along
This is really good, I think after a few more listen I will love it! Go Bulgaria!
This reminds me of something that I can't put the name to
either way it's amazing
HOLY FUCKING SHIT
This is beyond incredible.
VI HAR EN VINNARE
Unless they bomb the live performance part I REALLY doubt it's not a third consecutive Top 5 for Bulgaria (never thought I'd ever be saying this either, dont worry).
I get why they said this was a bit of a roll of the dice as I can see a lot of ways how this can potentially backfire. You always run the risk with groups of solo singers that it'll become a Genealogy-style mess and sound really off.
This also strikes me as being the song that is going to suffer the most from the stage being a really simple design as I think they'll struggle to recreate the effects in the video on a stage with just some lights and five people on it. Add to that a song that isn't particularly instant and takes about a minute to get going properly, then that adds up to something that isn't the all encompassing winner that I think the Bulgarian delegation think that it is.
But (remembering what I said about a song that wasn't going to qualify and then won) maybe it'll look and sound stunning on the night and I'll be proven wrong, who the hell even knows. Isn't this SO EXCITING!
I am kind of shocked this is still so high in the odds. Not that it doesn't deserve it, but it is more the case that in all the live performances they've done they have mimed the chorus and the harmonies and have yet to do anything other than the verses live. I knew the female was miming during the London party, but Amsterdam was just dreadfully obvious
gurl please. having back vocals (pre-recorded or not) does not equal miming
i think it's fair to say they will be able to handle any live performance given their vocal abilities they've shown during the pre-parties
Ugh! Really hate this borefest and I can't understand why this is the second favourite to win.
