A group of people mysteriously come back to life, completely unaware of ever having died or the many years that have passed since their death.
C4 9pm tonight. Inspired by Twin Peaks. Mogwai made a gorgeous soundtrack for it. WATCH.

A good story about what underage sex can cause if you have a twin.

biggrin.gif !!!

I can't believe this is airing WITH subtitles. I watched it during it's original French run... I understood almost all of it but some bits were a bit like WHAT.

EDIT: Actually, I still have the finale left to watch. That's my evening sorted!

And, yeah, don't expect the finale to provide you with TOO many answers. I am pumped for the second season!

Found these GEMS on Channel 4's Facebook page:

"if its not English it shouldn't be on English tv."

"subtitles?! that means whilst ur reading wots bein sed u miss sum of the film!.. I might give it half hour if I get peed off am turning diff channel. done that before wiv a foreign film tryna read the subs n watch at same time." (yeah, cuz subtitles are shown on an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT SCREEN on the OTHER SIDE OF YOUR SITTING ROOM)

OKAY LOVE.

Yeah, they are the most annoying ones. You CAN miss something, yes, but unless you CANNOT READ you're hardly going to spend more than a few moments to look a few inches down the screen.

Lazy ass motherfuckers. I say give them EVERYTHING with subtitles and in different languages. They can all at least stop dumbing themselves down by watching TV aka the brainwashing machine all day long or actually learn some parts of a foreign language!

I collected some brilliant tweets from the ad breaks:

"french on Channel 4? Have they forgotten we are Britain?"
"WHY IS MY CHANNEL 4 TALKING IN FRENCH WTF"
"WHY THE f*** IS MY CHANNEL 4 IN A DIFFERENT LANGUAGE!!!"
"Is anyone else's channel 4 in French please"
"Channel 4 showing everything in french.... What a load of S**T !"
"There's something wrong with my channel 4 everything gone French"
"Is anyone elses channel 4 in french or is it just me"
"How can channel 4 put a programme on and it's fully French with subtitles no English at all"

Yup.

Sorry about earlier, I was trying to post a new topic on Haven, for some reason it ended up on here, never mind, I didn't know what I was doing.

Anyhow talk about gripping stuff, thoroughly enjoyed it had me hooked from start to finish, the little boy gave me the creeps, and note to self never watch this programme in the dark again, when the girl got stabbed, I shrieked. sleep.gif Interesting to see where the next episode goes.

I'm not totally sure this wasn't just a C4's experiment on how many xenophobes are watching their channel.

I think it's great that we are finally getting to see some foreign drama on television. BBC4's success with shows such as The Killing has clearly demonstrated that there are people prepared to watch a programme with subtitles. I actually find that I tend to miss less if the action than in an English language programme as I have to keep my eyes on the screen all the time rather than relying on simply following the dialogue.

I agree, if I'm watching something with subtitles I find I pay more attention. I really don't get the argument of 'you miss the action if you have to read'. Unless that's just because I can read quite quickly.

It's great to see Channel 4 showing a foreign language show again, many seem to have forgotten that before American Imports and Big Brother C4 built it's name on airing things like this. I do think it helped that the show that kickstarted it all, The Killing, was ridiculously addictive and just brilliant from start to finish. Then Borgen and The Bridge have also been absolutely brilliant which has really just helped things.

I missed this last night but will catch up sometime this week, it looks brilliant.

Anyone else think that this wasn't gripping at all? YES, it was intriguing and I want to know more, but I didn't find any of the characters very compelling or interesting and I don't think you got a sense of anything else except the concept.

I find Spiral is properly gripping French drama where you're actually invested in the plot and the characters. Maybe that will come over the next few weeks.

Spiral season one is fantastic. Season two is not bad. Season three was dull and I didn't finish it.

Anyway this was off to a wonderful start. I really am a sucker for such breathtaking visuals. And I found Camille's mum to be a very compelling character.

I agree. I saw just the pilot a couple of months back and while it was good I didn't find myself hurrying to watch another episode.

Oooh never heard of Engrenages! Gotta check it out definitely!

Oh I didn't like the pilot of Engrenages at all. It was far too French, which is probably a stupid reason to dislike it but I have a low tolerance for characters like the main guy (can't even remember his name). Didn't bother watching anymore episodes after that!

Yeah, this dips a bit after the first episode but it really kicks into gear at the end of episode four when we find out how Victor died. After that I found it pretty solid.

Really enjoyed Ep.1. Been reading that some people won't watch it because of the subtitles. My mum flatly refused. Made no difference to me.
