BuzzJack Music Forum _ Television _ Killing Eve • Season 1

QUOTE
Starring Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer, Killing Eve centers on two women: Eve (Oh) is a bored, whip-smart, pay-grade MI5 security officer whose desk-bound job doesn’t fulfill her fantasies of being a spy. Villanelle (Comer) is a mercurial, talented killer who clings to the luxuries her violent job affords her. Penned by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag) and based on the novellas by Luke Jennings, Killing Eve will follow these two women, equally obsessed with each other, as they go head to head in an epic game of cat and mouse.

It has been getting very good reviews and will be coming to BBC One later this year! It has already been renewed for a second season too!

Definitely going to watch this, but i'm not waiting for BBC One to air it that's for sure!

Posted by: _jase 7th April 2018, 04:54 PM

Premieres tomorrow tonight in the US so I'll be watching it on Monday. Can't wait!

Episode 1 was SO GOOD. Sandra Oh is just excellent isn't she? wub.gif Hearing her coming out with very British words like "quid" and "loo" was amazing laugh.gif

It didn't take itself too seriously; there was a couple of times I laughed out loud which I wasn't expecting!

Just seen the first two eps of this. Oh how I've missed Sandra Oh since she left Grey's! There was a nice comedic element to this as well - I laughed out loud when she couldn't feel her arms.

Looking forward to seeing more.

The whole series will be on iPlayer after the first episode is shown. It will also be shown in weekly episodes for the more old-fashioned among us.

Glad this is still getting an airing on BBC One then! Seems too good to pass by on iPlayer!

Posted by: Mart!n 15th September 2018, 09:30 PM

Wow... amazing probably one of the best series to come out this year, I think I'm going to pace this out, I know all the episodes are available on iPlayer

I think I'm the only person who could never get into this laugh.gif

What a series! I've been gripped throughout, so many twists and turns! Jodie Comer deserves all the awards.

Finished it last night, thoroughly enjoyable watch!

BBC One has got the rights to air Season 2! I know it seems unsurprising but at least they're not just shunting it to be an iPlayer only thingy

There's no doubt this would be back on BBC One - it's ended up being one of their biggest new drama hits of the year

Posted by: The Feline Lorde 14th October 2018, 04:32 PM

Finally finished the series today - the ending!!! *.* Both Eve and Villanelle are such compelling characters

I've just watched the entire season in one sitting cry.gif

I sat down tonight intending to just watch the first episode and suddenly its 3am and I can't remember my life before this show.... It's truly incredible, i can't fault it at all, there's just so much I love about it! The acting was off the scales, the plot was gripping CONSTANTLY and the characters are all amazing, so much love for Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh wub.gif

I need season two nowwwwwww, i dont think I've been this into a series like this since orphan black, props to BBC putting out another amazing show ohmy.gif

Omg my impakt getting you and Lotti to watch *.*

I watched this this week too and did it all in two days which is fast for me given how much into Persona 5 I currently am kink.gif I agree that everything is always gripping, I think only having 8 episodes helped as it managed to be tense but fast paced at the same time, there was always something going on. Not once was I thinking "oh that was a waste of an episode", and whenever I thought I'd figured something out or had the measure of it, something else turned it upside down again and I was totally shook.

As brilliant as Sandra Oh undoubtedly is, Jodie Comer's performance as Villanelle is ASTOUNDING, like one of the best I've seen in a long time. How this sweet Scouse girl can so effortlessly portray a Russian psychopath is insane, and all the accents!! While she is obviously a psychopath, you still have to love her and that's the sign of a good actress, she made the character so complex and layered that you don't just go "oh she's a killer she's the baddie boo". Every character brought something too, I liked that they subverted it and the guys were mostly kinda stock/filler characters in a way, but they still had a point and brought something. Kenny is husband material I love him.

Season 2's not long away - April *.*

?! Are you thinking of Keeping Faith lol?

So excited for the season second of this, it was by and away my television highlight of 2018! Hopefully they won't leave it too long before the UK air date this time around

Posted by: Steve201 6th February 2019, 10:42 PM

Is it not a British drama?

Ish? It’s made by BBC America so that’s why the US gets it first

Posted by: Steve201 6th February 2019, 11:53 PM

Ah I see, thanks Lewis!

Posted by: natelivliv 10th March 2019, 08:38 PM

About the ending, I was shouting at the TV when Eve was in the iamspamspamamithinking of how to help Villanelle as Sandra Oh was in Grey's Anatomy (long running US medical show) for years and I was going but you were in Grey's! biggrin.gif

Really great to see Kim Bodnia as well, a shame he won't be in S2 but he had lost control of Villanelle and whoever is "in charge" knew it. Enjoyed his annoying daughter as well!!

Lastly, who knew you could be so creative with a hair pin
