Fall Out Boy are back! Love the new single 'Dear Future Self (Hands Up)' which just came out - and Wyclef thank god doesn't sound too bad
It's from 'Greatest Hits: Believers Never Die - Volume 2' (a follow up to 2009's Volume 1) out November 15th! |

Eh, I often have unpopular opinions on Fall Out Boy but I'm not that enthused by this, particularly listening to their last album in tandem with this - that's awesome.

Been listening to it loads over the last two days, and it definitely reminds me of DOAB Panic! at the Disco (like LA Devotee)

I mean do we really need this as an album at all? A more comprehensive combined GH with Part 1 makes more sense to me... none of those tracks scream memorable hit at all

Though I'm pretty sure it's only being released because Green Day & Weezer are both releasing new albums for the Hella Mega tour, and FOB aren't ready with their next one yet. |

I actually like the idea of a Volume 2 compilation. There's definitely been a distinct shift in sound from Save Rock and Roll onward so it makes sense to me to package them separately. From my experience there's a bit of divide between old fans and new fans so I can see why they'd target the new ones with this.

I mean having multiple volumes of greatest hits albums is a great idea that not many artists can pull off, it's just I don't really think FOB can pull it off They have some brilliants songs and are extremely well known but there's too many crap song choices there (and there was on their Volume 1 too tbh). I'd definitely replace Alone Together with Save Rock And Roll, Immortals with American Beauty/American Psycho, and then add in Young and Menace, Wilson (Expensive Mistakes) and maybe Hold Me Tight or Don't. I am glad The Last of the Real Ones is getting some love though
Lake Effect Kid is better than most of Mania too (possibly they're saving that for a special edition like they did with Vol 1). Summer Days could also be an option for another edition same for their Ghostbusters song. Not that I really want either of those to be given much more attention but it's not impossible tbh |

There are people who liked 'American Beauty / American Psycho' and 'Young And Menace'?? I understand them being left off because it'd be embarrassing for them to be represented by those 2 songs. xx
'Young Volcanoes' on the other hand is one of their better songs since their comeback so I conclude Iz is just crazy x |

The lack of American Beauty/American Psycho is saddening </3 Oh I agree, it is one of their best singles of the last few albums Definitely. That and Young And Menace are big losses. For nonentities like Alone Together or Young Volcanoes? I agree, Young And Menace is another of my favourites. It was very divisive with fans though so I can see why it was missed off. Young Volcanoes is great also though imo |
