Christmas is all about romantic and that's what is not enough for modern life and music as well.
Also Christmas is rather limited topic to say. So it's not so easy to make something better than classics due to these aspects and the tons of Christmas songs from the past. Its' better to try to record some new sports anthems but looks that everybody are just afraid to be worse than Queen. Of course, they are and will be ) but at least there are not so many ones in a music history. So I've been always surprised that not so many artists try to do the songs with this topic. Anyway, backing to Xmas. Really hope on Robbie's Christmas album and not only because I'm his fan. There are 28 songs on the album and 19 songs on it are originals and most of them were written with his friends from Stoke (lol, Rudebox was written with them, for example). He had worked on this Xmas project during 3 years and it shouldn't be just a random LP. It's definitely should be some new vision on songs with Christmas topic due to Robbie's humor and texts. At least, let's hope so. From last decade there were some really good Xmas songs but hope for more, of course. 1. December Song by George Michael 2. One More Sleep by Leona Lewis 3. Christmas Lights by Coldplay 4. Every Day's Like Christmas by Kylie 5. I Am Santa by The Darkness 6. Happy Birthday Guadalupe by The Killers 7. What Would Santa Do by The Monkees 8. Underneath The Tree by Kelly Clarkson This post has been edited by Better Man: Nov 7 2019, 07:59 PM |

Partly due to the slow charts and the success of Sir Michael Buble the Xmas album seems to be the go to seasonal release. There's been so many this past decade when before it's usually been an American trait.
