Couldn't find a topic for her so thought I'd start one, especially as (these spoilers are X Factor related) according to our own, Joseph (he was at the recordings), 'Rise Up' was sung by a contestant for the upcoming X Factor series in the 6-chair challenge and got through. So I think a potential big boost not only for that song, but for Andra Day in general could be on the horizon.
Anyway, I've heard of her name/seen it around in places but not really paid attention until now and I really think she could be huge, if given the time of day and airplay etc.. 'Rise Up' got given a video just a couple of months ago so I presume there is a push being planned? Her voice is absolutely STUNNING. I can seriously see Duffy releasing this sort of stuff right now. 'Forever Mine': --- 'Rise Up': 'Rise Up' is seriously stunning. I actually can't get over how beautiful it is. Would love for everything to work out for her right now! |

I didn't pay attention to Rise Up in BJSC as it was in the opposite semi and it was one of those months where I don't think I took any notice of the other one and it DNQ'd but good lord this is stunning
 This just screams X Factor boost and radio/chart omnipresence!

BJSC might actually be where I recognise her name. I, too, was in the opposite semi and didnt pay attention to those who didn't qualify! Gutted tbh.

I first heard "Rise Up" a few months ago on an episode of Grey's Anatomy which centred around the couple Arizona and Callie in a child custody case. It was such a spectacular song choice and was perfect for the scene it was featured in I thought
I need to listen to the album at somepoint, I believe it's on Spotify and I'll probably invest in a physical copy too! |

Just listening to the album now and 'Red Flags' is brilliant. It's a solid album overall though. Nothing has touched 'Rise Up', but 'Red Flags' got closest to doing so.

Downloaded the album a good 4 or 5 months back.
Can't say I've listened to it loads but definitely given it a couple of spins and thought it was a very good effort. 'Rise Up' still remains beautiful. |

'Rise Up' got a lot of coverage over the Summer! I heard it as background music for NBC's Olympics coverage and she even got the chance to perform the song with Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato at their Orlando date of the FutureNow tour and dedicated the song to the victims! </3
It feels like it's literally just about to take off though. I think once the public hear it, they'll lap it up. It managed to almost go top 100 on iTunes a couple of weeks back due to being background music on XF. Which puts it in a great position. |

Rise Up has now gone Top 50 on iTunes because of X Factor last night. Would be nice to see it do something more!
