However you look at it, this is still the same Tory government in power, just a different face as PM. Same policies really and while they might get a poll bounce for a while, when the reality kicks in of more austerity and people are unable to afford their energy bills then I’m convinced people will vote for a change in this country which is badly needed.

Braverman will have received a generous severance payment six days ago. No sign yet of her offering to pay it back. Oh, and we appear to have yet another education secretary; I think it’s now five or six in less than a year.

Literally resigned less than a week ago from the very same position because she breached ministerial code.

It's all such a joke.

It’s ridiculous. Any civil servant would be dismissed or severely warned for what she did yet she gets a pay off and then her job back?!!!!

Rishi's appointments are just dire. Gives me hope we may see a general election sooner rather than later.

There are a few ok ones (bearing in mind this is the Tories) - Hunt, Mercer, Tugendhat and good he got rid of Mogg and Simon Clarke too but loads of rubbish from the past - Raab, Dowden, Jenrick, keeping Coffey and Braverman high up. And anti trans bigot Kemi Badenoch is now equalities minister as well as Trade. Not good for the LGBT community.

And as people have said on this forum Gavin Williamson must really know where the bodies are buried! Why on earth would people bring back this incompetent, not especially popular with the right (unlike Braverman say) sack of turd back into public life?

There are some odd Cabinet appointments and a couple missing too who I thought Sunak would turn to. I think the appointments tell us a lot though - there internal Party politics are on a knife edge and a lot of these appointments or moves will be to keep the factions in place. I'm not saying this is a good thing btw - but tells us a lot about the current state of the Tory Party.

Sadly because she's a darling of the hard right and thinks he has to keep them sweet. But even if he had to play that hand he should have gone for Badenoch as she's more competent and hasn't broken the ministerial code (that I know of).

PMQs is cracking viewing this week, the Truss episodes were fun but Sunak's in some ways even worse at walking into Starmer's traps despite having a few more available lines than '£2500 energy bills'. Not that they're any good but the variety keeps it interesting.

(one of them is 'yes but have you considered JEREMFLY CROMBLYN', another is 'Labour have finally discovered that you can't spend without having to pay for it', immediately met by disbelief and 'no u' from the Labour bench)

Starmer has made me laugh a couple times with his PMQs. Just reading through them now and loving this:

He points out that Sunak was beaten in the summer leadership contest by Liz Truss - who herself was "beaten by a lettuce". laugh.gif

Truss will go down in history as the prime minister that was outlasted by a lettuce! Hilarious.

How does Raab keep making it back?

The guy who said that the police do not investigate crimes that have taken place in the past. Mind melting appointment.

Good to see Jacob Rees-Mogg, the minister for overplaying his hand get dumped. Boris or Bust indeed. laugh.gif

The lettuce would surely have done a better job than anyone we have had in recent history.

Braverman admits using private emails for official papers six times

Suella Braverman has admitted to sending government documents to her personal email address six times during her first stint as home secretary.

This is on top of the security breach that led to her resignation.

She has been under pressure to explain her actions since being reappointed as home secretary by PM Rishi Sunak.

Downing Street said "clearly there was an error of judgement and she has taken responsibility," adding Mr Sunak has "full confidence" in Ms Braverman.

Labour's shadow home secretary Yvette Cooper said Ms Braverman "has now admitted she sent government documents to her personal phone six times in 43 days - that's once in every week she was in the post".

Suella Braverman was warned over Manston migrant centre overcrowding

Suella Braverman failed to sign off on measures which could have eased pressure at a migrant processing centre, sources have told the BBC.

The home secretary was warned by officials the government was acting outside the law by failing to provide alternative accommodation.

Sources claim there was significant concern within the Home Office about the situation at the Manston centre.

The Home Office rejected claims that the advice was "deliberately ignored".

I don't see how she can stay much longer. Hopefully gone before Christmas.

Bit of a stretch classifying a disgraced former Health Secretary as a "celebrity"

Guess he's had enough of life in the political wilderness and is now trying to launch a TV career like a poundshop Portillo?
