The shocking news of today Robert Miles died at the age of 47. He was still too young sad.gif

My absolutely favourite from him was this one:

children is the epitome of my memories of childhood dance/techno

i still get chills listening to it and i will get more chills listening to it now. wasnt it created to be the last song of his set for the clubbers to mellow out a bit for when they drove home?

So sad! sad.gif A lot younger than I thought he was too!

'Children' is a classic. Like in the actual sense of the word. 'One & One' is one of those that people won't probably recognise by name, but if they heard it, they would recognise it and like it, I feel.

Such a huge part of the 90's scene! He's one of the reasons why I got into dance/trance! I just wish I was old enough to have been able to dance to it in a club and stuff at the peak of his popularity!

It's awful news, I feel like he's one musician who really made a mark on the music landscape with 'Children' being such a seminal classic and a game-changer.

'One & One' and 'Fable' are also excellent (the latter very much in the same vein as 'Children', but mega underrated.

We shouldn't forget about Fable tbh, I prefer both Fable and One & One to Children but all of them are great tracks.

Yeah, I also prefer Fable to Children but even bigger shame that hardly anyone knows his work post-23AM (second album)....

Miniature World (taken from Thirteen album)

Soul Driven (taken from miles_gurtu album)

Paths feat. Nina Miranda (taken from Organik album)

this bunch of music show how talented he was, he made music from World to Pop, from Trance to chill-out, from Jazz to Rock.

Like you may probably know, my nickname is made from his stage-name and I am his fan since like ever.

If you have lost your childhood music hero. you know how I feel. it's like part of me died yesterday or at least part of my childhood passed away. More, I feel like I've lost my long time friend with who I had been growing up.

Sadly, I never meet him and never seen him live. If only I knew he would passed that early, I would defo go to Ibiza to meet him.

This is such sad news sad.gif

I was never a huge fan of One And One but in the last year or so I've really warmed to it. Children remains the one tho <3

I remember when Dot Rotten murdered "Children" back in 2012. What a travesty that was and I'm glad it flopped

Also remember Angel City sampling 'Children' for their Top 3 hit 'Do You Know (I Go Crazy)?

Though to be fair it wasn't as bad as Dor Rotten.

Not quite a top 3 hit actually, it peaked at #8. tongue.gif

The absolute worst was Tyga sampling 'Children' for his own song 'Stimulated'... which was about his relations with an underage Kylie Jenner. mellow.gif

Children and one and one were both killer singles. Two of the best dance songs ever produced. I wonder if we'll ever get a remixed version?

I do remember that and yes, their take on "Children" was 100x better than Dot Rotten's take
