Very impressive as it has amassed 100 weeks in only 2 chart runs with only 2 weeks off the chart before re-entering.
How many chart runs have each of the top 20 had? |

I missed that 'Perfect' had also surpassed 'Chasing Cars'. Good. x (And it really doesn't feel like it was that long ago that 'Mr. Brightside' took the lead but it's now more than 100 weeks ahead of it, time flies)

Has anything managed 100 consecutive weeks? Blinding Lights will do that before being knocked out in the Christmas rush.

Very impressive as it has amassed 100 weeks in only 2 chart runs with only 2 weeks off the chart before re-entering. How many chart runs have each of the top 20 had? Mr. Brightside is currently on its 57th (and second-longest) chart run. Perfect is currently on its 7th chart run. Chasing Cars has had 18 chart runs (last seen in the chart in December 2014). My Way has had 9 runs (last seen in the chart in January 1972). Someone You Loved is currently on its second chart run. Sex On Fire has had 6 chart runs (last seen in the chart in January 2013). Shotgun has had 4 chart runs (last seen in the chart in June 2021). Thinking Out Loud has had 7 chart runs (last seen in the chart in February 2021). Chandelier has had 5 chart runs (last seen in the chart in February 2017). Shallow has had 7 chart runs (last seen in the chart in June 2021). Whatever has had 14 chart runs (last seen in the chart in July 2010). Fairytale Of New York has had 19 chart runs (last seen in the chart in January 2021). I Gotta Feeling has had 9 chart runs (last seen in the chart in June 2012). Radioactive has had 7 chart runs (last seen in the chart on this day in 2015). All I Want For Christmas Is You has had 16 chart runs (last seen in the chart in January 2021). Use Somebody has had 21 chart runs (last seen in the chart in June 2014). Merry Xmas Everybody has had 25 chart runs (last seen in the chart in January 2021). Pompeii has had 5 chart runs (last seen in the chart in October 2016). Rule The World has had 8 chart runs (last seen in the chart in November 2012). Dance Monkey is current on its second chart run. This post has been edited by daniellovesmusic: Jul 16 2021, 08:05 PM |

Blinding Lights will almost certainly become the first to reach 100 weeks while on its first chart run by the end of October - unless The Weeknd drops a surprise album which gets it starred out before then.
It could well be the 21st to cross the line, although Shape Of You is on 98 weeks and looks to have narrowly missed the Top 100 this week and last. |

Would it be enough weeks that it could potentially have still been on top otherwise? |

Chasing Cars was ineligible for 7 weeks, so even with these included it would still be some distance behind Perfect (and Mr Brightside) by now.
However it would have then stayed 112 consecutive weeks in the Top 100, which would still be the record as things stand. |

One of my friends asked me to put this on in the car the other day and I raised my voice, raised my finger and said "NOT IN THIS CAR."
God I can't stand it. |

I got so fed up with Dance Monkey, but now its only played now and again it has regained some of its appeal.
The music video remains unwatchable though. |

I believe by the Autumn Tones will have overtaken Mariah to have the biggest female solo single ever. Then Mariah will re-overtake obviously.
