Elvis Presley scores new chart record with 12th UK Number 1 album

Almost 40 years after his untimely passing, Elvis Presley has still got the charts – and the record books – all shook up.
If I Can Dream, a collection of Elvis classics featuring orchestral reworkings by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, tops the Official Albums Chart this week, giving The King his 12th UK chart-topping album.
This means Elvis now has more Number 1 albums in the UK than any other male solo artist, and puts him level with Madonna in second place for the most chart-topping LPs, behind the Beatles, who have 1
Receiving the award on Elvis’s behalf, the star’s former wife Priscilla Presley told OfficialCharts.com: “This is an album that Elvis always really wanted to do and he would have been so pleased to know his fans are still there and they continue to love his music. The most talented team put this album together and helped us all realise an unfulfilled dream.”
Elvis claims the Number 1 spot with 79,000 chart sales, giving him the second-fastest selling album of the year behind Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds’ Chasing Yesterday.

In the UK year end best selling album chart for 2002 'Elvis' 30 No.1 Hits' reached No.8. Looks like the IICD album will be in the Top 5 for 2015 giving it the highest year end Elvis album chart entry since 'The 40 Greatest Hits' in 1974 which reached No.4.

Apparently, the IICD advertisement is being shown at the Showcase Cinema Chain which has 17 locations throughout the UK as follows:

It's Not Over...
With sales approaching 800,000 physical copies sold already in the UK there is no doubt that this will be a million selling global release for Elvis Presley. Although topping the USA classical charts with “If I Can Dream” Sony will be looking for a greater success Stateside of Elvis in the Billboard album Chart.
Producer Don Reedman has told the OEPFC “Next year it is hoped to stage the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra live with Elvis on the big screen in a one off concert in the UK, and plans are under way for an Elvis Gospel album with the RPO for August 2017.”

IICD has now officially sold over 1 million units in the UK.
Sony Music Entertainment is delighted to announce the phenomenal No.1 album by the undisputed King of Rock N’ Roll, If I Can Dream: Elvis Presley with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is now officially a million seller – after breaking through the symbolic milestone in the UK.
If I Can Dream spent two weeks at No.1 and it has never left the Top 20 since its release at the end of October. It was the second biggest selling new release of 2015, behind only Adele, and made Elvis the first solo artist to ever have a UK No.1 album in five different decades beginning in 1956 with Rock ‘N’ Roll. Both Amazon (UK) and HMV (UK) are offering IICD for £5.99 for this Bank Holiday Weekend only. Amazon are limited to selling only 3 copies to each customer but at HMV one can purchase as many copies as you want.

IICD is No.95 on the UK Album Chart for 20th May, 2016; It is also 76 on the Album Sales Chart; 58 on the Physical Album Chart and 92 on the Scottish Album Chart. Total sales to date:1,041,422 units approx.
It must be emphasised, yet again, that Elvis is not in the Top 100 Download or Streaming Charts. This is preventing him from keeping a higher chart position.
