Babylon Zoo springs to mind but I'm not sure whether they had another top 40 hit?

Shame Johnny Run Away didn’t take off in the UK like it did over here tbh, I can fully see Never See The Rain becoming at least a minor hit IF it gets a push though

Some of these are kinda stretching what “one hit wonder” means but interesting read, although I thought You Are The Reason went Top 40?

There were a couple times it looked like it was going to make it but nope, it peaked at #43

Interestingly the OCC have corrected a couple of their mistakes on this article, Philip George and Pia Mia have been removed from the list and You Don't Know Me and My Head Is A Jungle get a place in the list! The OP has been updated.

Great to see Wankelmut & Emma Louise make it in here now!

Pia Mia had a 2nd hit?

Boys & Girls upon a poly hex search, my that song really was useless and forgettable.

Well you're getting closer OCC. Just need to remove J Balvin, Lil Uzi Vert and Logic as well now xx (incidentally I wonder if Lil Uzi Vert may be coming for a second top 40 as lead artist pretty soon with 'Futsal Shuffle 2020', doing extremely well in the US and #48 in the mids here this week behind a ton of Christmas songs, not to mention the song seems pretty much tailor made for TikTok).

Wankelmut of course also had a hit with his remix of Asaf Avidan & The Mojos' 'One Day / Reckoning Song' but we'll allow that since Route 94 is on the list as well.

Love that Passenger is number one. One of my fave singers. I’ve seen him live twice and both times he has spoken about how thankful he is to Let Her Go.

Shame he never had another top 40, but his album record is good and he even had a number one album after Let Her Go

Yeh Passenger reminds me of an artists like Frank Turner who didn't have many hits but does incredibly well with his albums from touring and his fanbase.

If Pia Mia and Omi don't qualify for this list since they were featured on other Top 40 hits (as with the acts Bre mentioned above), shouldn't Janelle Monae qualify with We Are Young?

I doubt it'll be her only hit, would surely be unprecedented for a hit this huge to have absolutely no follow-up at all (the previous record for weeks at #1 for a one hit wonder was The Archies' 'Sugar, Sugar' I think, a clear novelty hit by a fictional band). We can only pray she'll never have another really big hit tho.

Even The Archies sort of had a follow-up hit, as lead singer Ron Dante was the lead singer of The Cuff Links who had a hit with Tracy a couple of months later with the same bubblegum sound. The Archies had quite a few US hits before and after Sugar Sugar and it was the same singers, same pool of musicians, and successful songwriters like Andy Kim, fronted by a cartoon band. The Gorillaz of their time laugh.gif

No?? Because fun. had more than one hit! They’re only using the lead artists here, and Pia Mia and Omi were the lead artists on their hits.

Right, but Pia Mia and Omi's only other hits were as featured artists (with will.i.am and The Vamps respectively). So either they should be added (back) in if it's one hit only as lead artist, or J Balvin et al should be removed if it's one hit as lead artist and nothing else even as a feature.

Yes, J Balvin and co should also be removed. Most obviously, so should Logic considering he had another hit as lead artist earlier this year! I was just pointing out how silly it would be to include We Are Young in here for the featured artist - if you did, you’d most likely find yourself with One Dance being the biggest one-hit wonder of the decade because of Kyla!

Everything from 'Reggaeton Lento' up has passed 1m chart sales, so there's a few new millionaires that we may not have estimated. Everything above 'Dance Monkey' may have passed 1m too depending on whether it's last week or the previous week that this chart is dated to ('Dance Monkey' sold 989k as of last week, 921k to the previous week).

Does anyone remember where Philip George and Pia Mia were placed before the OCC updated?

Philip George was between Lil Uzi Vert and NF, and Pia Mia was between Tones and I and Lady Antebellum.
