Travis Barker of Blink-182 has confirmed their new album will be out before Warped Tour 2019 (June 8) - he's also said the album has the same 'vibe' as their self-titled album from 2003.

Pharrell Williams has also been confirmed as a producer.

Hopefully we get a single soon!

Posted by: Moses 11th March 2019, 05:11 PM

Excited - the 2003 era was pretty interesting though personally the previous two albums to it are my favourites and 2 of my all time favourites that I still regularly revisit.

Pharrell as producer though? blink.gif

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 11th March 2019, 07:56 PM

Yeah an interesting choice! The other outside producers are John Feldmann (lead singer/guitarist for Goldfinger) and The Futuristics (worked on a load of pop songs).

Well I wasn't expecting this tongue.gif Blink-182 have announced a US tour with 'special guests' Neck Deep and have released this mashup:

This is brilliant!

Very poppy, moreso than California. (so I imagine it will divide their fans)

Posted by: Burns 8th May 2019, 05:10 PM

Poppy in what way? Melodic like All The Small Things, or has a 2019 trap beat that sounds like it was made using tin cans?

Nope! Travis' drumming in this is one of the best bits about it.

Poppy as in the guitars are mixed fairly low, and an Imagine Dragons-like chorus.

I quite enjoy it though.

Listened to it a few times now, it’s okay, hoping I’ll grow to love it but right now I don’t.

I’m gonna start calling you Leona because you say EVERYTHING is some variation of 'amazing' laugh.gif tongue.gif

'Generational Divide' was released last week, only 51 seconds though, so not much to it tongue.gif

But another new track 'Happy Days' is releasing today!

Today is not Monday! I'd be sad, but I have to work tomorrow laugh.gif Something to look forward to!

Oh ffs laugh.gif

I'm on my school Summer holidays, the days are all blurring together!

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 1st July 2019, 04:05 PM

Really like this! Nice to hear a Mark vocal-only song, and the album has been announced for September!

Posted by: Burns 1st July 2019, 09:10 PM

Yeah, decent again. Listening to all 3 tracks together makes me enjoy each of them more.

Out of interest Who, given you can't have been alive when they were in their heyday, have you listened to any of their classic albums? "Take Off Your Pants And Jacket" and "Enema Of The State" are both in my top 5 albums of all time. Their self titled album was good too, particularly "I Miss You", gorgeous song.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 7th July 2019, 11:59 AM

The only albums I've heard are California and Enema. As well as a couple of random songs from other albums.

Definitely an unpopular choice, but I do prefer California, probably because in general I prefer the more modern production on pop-punk.

Posted by: Burns 7th July 2019, 05:04 PM

I’m very saddened to read that, Enema was generation defining. The new stuff is still decent but not a patch on their classic era.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 7th July 2019, 06:15 PM

Maybe I'd prefer it if I was of that generation then tongue.gif

Also I much prefer Mark's voice over Tom's, and his voice his heard much more on California.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 19th July 2019, 11:42 PM

Album confirmed for September 20!

Posted by: pspross 26th July 2019, 04:00 PM

It's Interesting that they're taking things in a new direction, but I still can't get over the classics. I'm hoping that the full album is good.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 26th July 2019, 04:53 PM

New song Darkside out today and the album is called 'Nine'

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 28th August 2019, 04:23 PM

The older fans are going to hate this video laugh.gif I quite like it, just a bit of fun - blink haven't taken themselves seriously ever.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 6th September 2019, 08:49 PM

Another great track! Hyped for this album smile.gif

Posted by: Burns 6th September 2019, 11:52 PM

On the whole I’m enjoying what’s been released so far but there’s one ingredient missing... Tom DeLonge.

It’s weird hearing new Angels & Airwaves material at the same time. It’s like, please merge laugh.gif

And no Who the new stuff is nowhere near the quality of their peak! In the words of Mr Garrison "I mean JEEZ"

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 6th September 2019, 11:57 PM

I prefer Matt's voice tongue.gif though I am enjoying Angels & Airwaves' new material.

And I stand by that comment! Though I feel like they're trying to aim to someone like me (fan of poppier pop punk like Neck Deep and Grayscale) with their new music.

Posted by: Burns 7th September 2019, 12:16 AM

With all due respect you just weren’t alive when they were at their peak (and I’m so damned jealous tbf) laugh.gif

Dude you’d have LOVED being your age back then!

The internet is much better now laugh.gif

I don't think my music taste would be much different if I was born 20 years earlier - same music genres, just different bands.

That's what I mean though - your taste would've suited that time perfectly. And you might've (definitely would've) appreciated earlier blink more tongue.gif

1. Listening to a lot of blink this week in anticipation of the new album! 3 10/10 albums on the trot - "Enema Of The State", "Take Off Your Pants And Jacket" and "blink-182" is no mean feat!
2. I think "I Really Wish I Hated You" is my favourite of the 5 tracks released from "NINE", I get "Stay Together For The Kids" feels from it...

Posted by: Jonjo 20th September 2019, 11:44 PM

This is a good album! It's their most "blink" album in a while (I don't mean to shade as I actually love Neighborhoods & enjoyed California!).

Posted by: Burns 21st September 2019, 10:11 AM

Really enjoyed it on first listen; it feels the most cohesive album since their heyday though subsequently also the most commercial sounding. Can definitely see this getting repeated listens.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 24th September 2019, 02:12 PM

I'm really liking this, very solid. Stand outs tracks for me are The First Time, Run Away, Blame It On My Youth and Heaven.

Posted by: Burns 24th September 2019, 05:37 PM

For me it's "I Really Wish I Hated You", "Pin The Grenade" and "No Heart To Speak Of" - 3 back to back gems!

Mark Hoppus has been diagnosed with cancer - he hasn't revealed any specifics but it's absolutely gutting to hear :/

Always been my favourite member!

Hope he manages to get through it! sad.gif
