Ed Sheeran aims to score his tenth #1 single with Bad Habits. The new Doja Cat & Tyler, The Creator albums could impact the chart, including Doja’s single You Right featuring The Weeknd. Other new tracks come from Aitch, Bastille, Fredo, MIST and Riton
Jack Savoretti could top the album chart for a second time with Europiana, with big releases from Tyler, The Creator with Call Me If You Get Lost and Doja Cat with Planet Her likely to land a high debut. Other new albums include Beartooth, John Grant, Gorgon City, Modest Mouse, Hiatus Kaiyote and UB40

Hopefully with the physical of BH in the shops, it can help Ed knock Olivia off the top
Hopefully Jack Savoretti does well this week. His new album is very Radio 2 but it’s a pretty decent listen
Hopefully Doja/Weeknd can get a high debut.
I hope KMM has avoided ACR. It would be a shame for it to go ACR as the album is released
It hasn't I can tell you. It was down 200k in Spotfy.
I doubt her team care about the UK charts *that* much
At least it will give a chance for YR to become a smash
Releasing a week earlier would have been good for her (actual) chart interests elsewhere though as it were. It's looking like Tyler, The Creator is going to be #1 very comfortably in the US this week with Doja fighting for #2 with Olivia, she could have had a good shot at a #1 album if she'd dropped last week, at least would have been guaranteed top 2. (I expect she'll get #2 this week anyway though especially with the deluxe version released today giving it a little bit of a boost)
Like if a US label would decide on a worldwide release date on the basis of the lead single hitting ACR in the UK...
wonder if Doja Cat even knows about the existence of the UK charts
when they call UK artist from the >Chart Show, half of the time it seems like they don't even know where the UK is
Joseph always says 5 min chart update
20 Lil Nas X - MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)
19 Little Mix feat. Saweetie - Confetti
18 Becky Hill & David Guetta - Remember
I wonder where Bad Habits will place today?
17 Mimi Webb - Dumb Love
16 Tom Zanetti - Didn't Know
15 Majestic & Boney M. - Rasputin
14 Doja Cat feat. SZA - Kiss Me More
good show up for Becky & Guetta!
I'm suprised this isn't in the top 10 today. I wonder why though?
13 Olivia Rodrigo - traitor
12 Doja Cat & The Weeknd - You Right
I was excited to hear this due to The Weeknd being involved but it actually wasn't one of my favourites from the album, hope it'll grow!
I quite like this, not bad on first listen
You Right is great, I hope it's a future top 10 hit
Just boring
11 Anne-Marie & Niall Horan - Our Song
OMG! Our Song almost top 10.
Hoping "Our Song" and "You Right" can make Top 10 soon!
10 Calvin Harris feat. Tom Grennan - By Your Side
9 ArrDee - Oliver Twist
8 Mimi Webb - Good Without
7 Måneskin - Beggin
Måneskin world domination
I shall enjoy 'I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE' being their higher song while it lasts
Yess I love this Beggin version.
I wonder if maneskin can possibly have two songs top five this week, beggin doing all this without any major playlisting support
There's not a single version of Beggin' I enjoy. How odd this 4 year old cover is becoming their biggest song
6 KSI - Holiday
absolutely here for maneskin domination even if it does mean a 4 year old cover becomes their biggest song
Ooooh 'I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE' top 5 yessss
Why is I wanna be your slave not on TTH ?!?
5 Måneskin - I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE
4 Galantis, David Guetta & Little Mix - Heartbreak Anthem
I hope Little Mix can get a new peak this week at 3!
3 The Weeknd - Save Your Tears
2 Olivia Rodrigo - good 4 u
1 Ed Sheeran - Bad Habits
Hope Olivia overtakes by end of the week
I'm not ready for Good 4 U's reign to end just yet - not that I don't think she won't rise back next week if Ed does manage it on Friday. (Unless Maneskin has a surprise in store which I would very happily welcome)
I'd like Ed to be No.1 this week. It's a good track.
Also, I'd prefer to see Good 4 U decline naturally than be forced into a massive drop due to ACR like what happened with Drivers Licence.
I like this track, much better than Afterglow.
I think physicals have helped Ed a lot
I think it'd be nice to have another song other than Olivia be Number 1, i'm not the biggest Ed fan but I like this song!
Did ed really release it on physical?
boo at MW not reporting the difference, that was the only interesting thing about today's update
I'd say if Ed is #1 is all down to the downloads rather than the physical CDs
I do like 'good 4 u' more as a song out of the two but I think 'Bad Habits' is pretty good as well and it'd be great to see another artist reaching the milestone of 10 #1 hits so I'm not really too bothered about who ends up getting the #1 this week but slightly rooting for Ed to pull it off. That is annoying that the OCC didn't bother reporting what the gap between them is.
Hope that 'I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE' will go top 5 this week as well - I was kind of expecting it to be higher than #5 today tbh but it has usually climbed over the week iirc?
I was surprised that Tyler, the creator didn’t have at least one song in the first look today considering his Spotify numbers yesterday. Kinda glad he didn’t though
It would be interesting to see in tomorrow’s update the sales difference between Ed and Olivia
If ed does do it this week can see olivia reclaiming next week either way
Ed is 6k ahead today
6k seems possible for Olivia to overtake, but I'm pretty sure Ed will think of something during the week to help ensure he gets it.
Are LM still at #4 please? And how much difference either side
I’d say Ed’s got it in the bag this week.
If his iTunes downloads were slowing I’d say Olivia could have a chance but he’s still 90% + ahead of her on there, plus the 2 CD singles.
I think Ed will get it this week but it'll most likely be a one week #1 and largely forgotten in terms of #1 singles this year.
It’s still going to a great deal under 100k - considering Shape of You registered 227k chart sales first week, it’s a huge comedown
(Double Post)
I expect that gap will only increase, Ed won't settle for anything less than first place
(not that it matters since he's gonna be #1 in a few weeks regardless lol)
I'd bet my money in a 1 week at #1
There is a pretty strong chance it gets to (/ back to) #1 by default after 'good 4 u' goes to ACR as long as it holds up reasonably well, which it has done so far. Although ofc that's still a few weeks away so plenty of time for a stronger contender to emerge (or for Olivia to swerve ACR somehow), but at the moment it looks to be pretty far ahead of everything other than 'good 4 u'.
Bad Habits is a really generic song that goes absolutely nowhere. I'm not an Ed fan in general but he's had some really great songs in the past. This just isn't one of them
So yes, it will be successful - but only because it's Ed and only because he's paid for every streaming and radio privelage possible. But no matter how big the promo you can't polish a turd to the point where its number 1 for 10 weeks. 2/3 at a push but come September this won't even be top 40 and you can @ me
It'll be very interesting to see how he holds up. 30k so far is very decent but a bit of the comedown to his usual numbers. I've seen a lot of his fans seem to have started noticing the transparency of his brand so a slight commercial decline was expected. Nothing too drastic though.
I think it's actually too early to call how he'll do post-week 1, and it's way too early to call if it'll be somewhat forgotten (for his standards) or one of the best selling singles of the year. Week 2's hold when he's not throwing quite as much at it will be the most interesting thing to track.
A 6k lead with streaming missing probably is very achievable for Olivia to overcome tbh, it will all depends on the gap on Spotify tomrorow tbh, if Olivia keeps a lead of 100k then I can see her overcoming Ed

Good to see Marshmello & Jonas Brothers and Tones and I top 40 today.
Lumberjack & Sir Baudelaire can say goodbye to the top 40 tomorrow please.
Amazing sales for Heartbreak Anthem well up on last week.
Ed’s sales are pretty disappointing given he’s thrown everything at it this week. Video, physicals and all over radio.
Olivia could actually decrease the gap quite a bit by Friday.
I'm disappointed with Ed's sales so far, I was expecting much higher. Really happy to see Jack savoretti safe for number 1 album.
Hope IWBYS stays higher than Beggin for Måneskin, at least for this week anyway and hopefully stays top 5 too
Interesting to see that when ed releases anything its divide that gets the biggest knock on boost, weird when thats already sold the most
Great to see Heartbreak Anthem at 4! Hope it can hold or jump up a place!
nice to see so many newies in singles
was expecting Tyler and Doja doing better in albums...great to see the amazing Lucy Dacus charting in albums <3
Perfect also up to #74
Shape of You a re-entry at #93
OneRepublic are genuinely appearing at #96 this week
'IGOR' was on 5.4k in its Monday midweek update so 'CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST' is looking to be opening a little lower (would be projected for 10.3k if it has the same growth from Monday to Friday as 'IGOR') - I understand that it's a more pure rap focused album so makes sense that it would have a little less mainstream crossover/staying power than 'IGOR' did, still pleased enough that it does indeed look safe to at least match the #4 peak of 'IGOR' and spawn one top 40 hit (assuming the other two will drop out). Doja's album is closer behind than I was expecting and her streaming numbers are holding up better so wouldn't be entirely surprised now if she ends up overtaking him, will definitely have a better long term chart run regardless.
Cool to see Hiatus Kaiyote showing up in the album mids, 'Red Room' from this album was a jam.
I think 'Beggin' could vault its way up to #3 this week, even though I'd much prefer IWBYS to stay ahead.
As much as I love to see Måneskin doing well I really don't want them to block themselves from getting a second top 5
maybe if IWBYS misses out then it could climb next week if 'Save Your Tears' goes to ACR
I don't think it's beyond Olivia to get the double again this week, will depend on just how front loaded Jack's album is but he's not as close to 20K as I'd hoped he may be.
I thought at the very least Nathan Evans would be able to make the Top 100 on his release week
Ed’s reduced to 59p on ITunes and lyric video was dropped.
Come on Ed! Nice to have him back and can't wait for the CD album.
Ed’s just dropped 99p signed CD singles - https://store.edsheeran.com/uk/catalog/product/view/id/276397/s/bad-habits-signed-cd-single/?fbclid=IwAR1blh0sEZUBCVp66u2A2gQAOiPV2qU_BxHK301YbwL-umVV0TB-yKiO-KY
Hopefully Måneskin stay Top 5 and You Right can climb into the Top 10!
99p?!
The 'Yummy' rollout was really in its own league of 'desperation', Ed can compete with that when he starts encouraging people to stream the song on low volume while they sleep, or bluntly asking his screaming and crying fans over Instagram live to download the song on iTunes while not even pretending to care about talking to them
I really don’t get how Ed is being desperate, he’s reducing prices for his physical single to ensure he debuts at #1 but when y’all fav pop stars reduce their album to £3.99 it’s seen as amazing marketing, I really think Ed gets too much of a hard time no matter how annoying he is!
I admire his team for doing what they need to get the number #1 debut if it's not coming as organically as they like. In fact; I wish (and have been frustrated) that Little Mix and lots of other artists I support has reduced in their opening weeks (albums and singles) when they never did.
Saying that, I don't think I've ever seen a signed CD selling for as little as 99p before.
Who cares! If Ed wants to sell singles for 99p let him.
Same as any chart battle...Make it a battle do everything possible to get that top spot.
Any artist can do whatever they want (within chart rules) no-one has a disadvantage.
2nd batch of signed CDs sold out!
A tip for anyone hoping to get one if they release more. Find the url of the actual item page from the first batch and use it. The second batch weren't actually shown on the main shop page but were there through the original url.
Occasionally artists have released CD singles in recent times - Wellerman, Blinding Lights and Justin Bieber's Holy, Anyone and Lonely all had CD singles for example, but they don't really sell in big quantities for the most part. Even Coldplay's Higher Power CD (which sold relatively well for a CD single in its first week) only turned it into a #12 hit instead of a #13 hit. Ed's low price point will undoubtedly help on that front though!
Urrrgh, mediocrity will win this week.
It's always the same, Ed does something it's desperation but the same people saying that sit in their favourites forum begging for them to do the same. It's desperation when someone you don't like reduces a price or adds another format but a clever tactic when it's your favourite.
Forget Ed, the big story of the week is Tones & I coming to shake that one hit wonder tag
Also is Aitch underperforming? I mean it's a shit song but would it not have expected to be sitting in the top 20 in the first mids?
Ugh as if dance monkey wasn’t enough she’s coming back with what looks like a 2nd hit. Her voice just irritates me
It's looking to be Aitch's highest charting song as lead artist since 'Rain' so I wouldn't say it's doing too badly. UK rappers' chart histories are almost all all over the place as the level of hype seems to vary wildly between releases.
Love how the current Pink single is always at 40 in the first mids lol and ends up at 44!
but releasing multiple formats of a release vs dropping the price midweek are very different tactics and not comparable at all
releasing multiple vinyls and cassettes, thats a good marketing strategy and thats what collector want, the label is just giving the people what they want, so release as many format as they want the label gives people choices, that's it, no one has to buy the 13 vinyls,... for me, thats good marketing
dropping the price of an album in half midweek on the other hand is pure desperation and an insult to most fans that have faithfully bought the album on release date at full price... so not the same thing, kinda the opposite...
There are levels of desperation, I can't think of anybody who has done something quite as desperate as signed 99p CD singles. There's no getting around that.
Like I said, I would label ANYBODY desperate for doing that.
Looks like Ed has learnt a thing or two from Lewis Capaldi then
oh my God!!!! what input is Ed gonna give, his mysogenistic lyrics sung from a perspective of a 13 year old even when he's 30?
Of course if England beat Germany tonight, Three Lions will instantly hit 10 million streams and make it to #1
Labels can also make strategies where they don't lose money
Jack Savoretti has released some personally signed copies of the cd and vinyl, but that's at full price so 27 pounds for the vinyl
not cheap but sure it will help with sales without being desperate
https://www.banquetrecords.com/jack-savoretti/europiana-[personally-signed]/EMICD2043-PS
There are only 5000 copies of Ed's CD single though I believe. They could've easily flogged more at 99p, so it can't just be desperation to get a #1.
The signed ones are already sold out.
But those 5,000 CDs will probably be the difference between him being #1 or #2.
11 Doja Cat & The Weeknd - You Right *
#25 AM, #12 Spotify, #42, #182 iTunes
12 Anne-Marie & Niall Horan - Our Song
#16 AM, #37 Spotify, #7 & 204 iTunes
hmmm
Ed is officially 99p in hmv too which is much better (down from 2.99)
ed sheeran acting like he never had a #1 before..
Rooting hard for You Right to get Top 10!
I think Ed should be pretty safe for #1 given how the Spotify gap has narrowed. It’s a good song so I’m not complaining - reminds me a lot of Cry For You by September though.
ed sheeran is doing a lot to be number 1 so it doesn’t look like he’s fallen off. yes it’s done better than a lot of songs first week but bad habits has performed terrible compared to his other leads so he’s fallen off for his standards and you can tell he’s trying to gain back popularity by being ‘quirky’ with the whole emo music video cos today’s society likes stuff like that
Hello. Wheres Britney in todays update?

Think Ed's got it in the bag this week!
Yeah, I think he has too.
I suppose fair play to him, he's gone for it and to be fair he's had much worse songs go to #1 in the past.
Ahh great to see LM at 4!
Ed Sheeran is at Wembley atm. Perhaps surprisingly, he is not wearing a "Buy my single NOW" t-shirt.
For reference, Ed has "only" sold 1,260 CDs this week, and that's an increase of just 194 since yesterday. I expect not all orders have been processed yet so there'll be a few more to come but the CDs aren't really making any difference at all right now.
good update for Savoreti, seems like he's not that front loaded so should do >20K and grab that #1
congrats to Ed's label, think they got it this week
They've just shown Ed Sheeran in the crowd at Wembley sat next to David Beckham, honestly the lengths he's going to for promotion in his first sales week
Also... for what it's worth, I don't mind Ed's push to get the #1. It is a bit desperate, yes, and he really doesn't need to do it given his previous levels of success but it's kinda nice that an artist actually cares.
Will Doja overtake Tyler in albums ? There quite close .
The signed Cd’s haven’t been dispatched yet so I’m guessing there’s a few hundred to come from those.
Pretty sure Ed and his label were expecting more physicals to sell than barely 2k. I’m sure they thought this was going to be a huge new massive ED comeback and it really hasn’t been.
Performance of Bad Habits from The Late Late Show available as a webstore exclusive download for 24 hours only!
Expect a big boost for 3 Lions then as England have just won 2-0 to Germany
Watch it smash past ed and Olivia
Expect 3 Lions to re-enter the chart.
Surely too late to have any significant impact, it wasn’t even in the top 100 in yesterday’s update and it’s on acr.
3 Lions to smash!
Doja closed the gap to Tyler by about 200 today, at that rate she will probably overtake but it'll still be pretty close so I wouldn't want to call it yet.
'Three Lions' seems to still be performing surprisingly underwhelmingly right now - it is doing better than it did during the Czech Republic match but not by a lot, currently still only #17 on Apple compared to being in the top 10 during both of the first two matches. Really thought there'd be a lot more hype for it with this being a knockout match. But then again it wasn't until the quarter-finals of the World Cup in 2018 that it really started smashing and having a pretty historic knockout win over Germany might do the trick to revitalise the hype and push it up much higher for the next match.
Football fans are obviously still currently taken with the ongoing heartache and betrayal of Olivia Rodrigo .
Three Lions to #1 if we make the semis.
Nice to see Ed increase his lead from Olivia
If they win it on Sunday the 11th then it’s surely gonna hit the top spot following that 😀, then if football does come home will that be the song redundant?
I am not sure that anyone knows the specifics of what the OCC do with Thursday streams. It's worth noting that they do (presumably) get Thursday streaming numbers from Amazon at least, as well as other smaller services - wouldn't surprise me if they extrapolate streams from Spotify/Apple/YouTube based on the trends from the services that do report on time?
I'm not really sure I'd call this "sailing" to number one, more fighting its way through turbulence to reach the port.
'Three Lions' for #1
^not the same
They have all the data on past Xmas weeks so they know the pattern
but they don't know it for football songs, so not sure how they can predict the data
at the end of the day, this is the lead from Minus/Substract, so of course it was gonna do less hahaha
I think bad habits will be around for a long time, i think it will have a long chart run, the song just has that feel about it, number 1 debuts are hard these days and this is certain to be another number 1 for ed on Friday, his albums are also benefiting from this release which is also something he will be happy with.

Ed only extending his lead then!
Tones climbing in every update too *.*
Ed may be ahead of Olivia in daily stream numbers now? He is #1 on both Apple and Amazon (edit: well #2 on Amazon now actually because 'Three Lions', but still, ahead of Olivia x) and has closed the gap a lot on Spotify (and I'd presume he's doing better on YouTube too). Of course he's still way ahead on downloads too but no longer sure that he's only going to be #1 because of that, he had a very underwhelming start on streaming but has been making gains throughout the week. (Yes, it's been helped by Hot Hits, yada yada)
The gap between Tyler and Doja seems to have barely changed since yesterday, really rooting for Tyler to hang onto that #3 spot.
Måneskin still smashing and You Right on track for Top 10!!!!!!
Really hope you right can hold onto that top 10! Do we know what’s at #11 and how far behind it is?
And another webstore exclusive download for Ed! Again only available for 24 hours.
Oh my someone tell Desperate Ed hes safe for this week
And save those cds for week 2 lol
I'm sure the website exclusive stuff is also aimed at securing as high a debut as possible in the US (where he's currently projected to debut at #5 according to Talk of the Charts).
This new download is for a 'voice note acoustic version' whatever that means lol ~
Was just thinking, when they get to ‘ain’t shit’ on the chart show on Friday how will Scott announce it, is there a clean title for it, similar to ‘build a babe’? 😂 and assume he will skip it as surely there isn’t a clean version?
'Fly Away' safe to stay top 40
There'll be twice as much of an issue with what to say on the chart show if/when 'Thot Shit' ever makes the top 40 (although Blueface seemed to demonstrate that the word 'thot' is apparently fine for the radio)
Just got dispatch emails for the signed Ed CDs so guessing that all of the signed copies may not have been added to the sales figures yet?
I ordered mine at 3pm on Tuesday, arrived by midday yesterday!
Interestingly, there's a clean version of Doja's entire album on Spotify (not unusual, many artists / labels do this for their releases), but it has one less track - they didn't even bother to make an edit of Ain't Shit
Great to have Ed back at No.1. Great artist. Listening to Divide now and wish they'd hurry up and announce SUBTRACT to complete a great quartet.
Divide should have been called Subtract because it's so reductive.
Jack Savoretti will be lucky to hit 20k, i think Picture This are gonna miss out on top 40
