I'll believe it when I see it. I still don't think we'll get an album this year but at least it's getting closer!

This teaser video went live across the band socials just now...something's obviously happening soon!

Yes! I thought this was dead in the water
Hopefully it's as good as Busted's new album |

I saw when Dougie was on Good Morning Britain this week (who I'm meeting this Saturday coming, incidentally. He's just bought out a book about reducing plastic consumption called 'Plastic Sucks' and it's a signing for that in London) and when pushed by Ben Shepherd and Susanna Reid he appeared to neither confirm or deny anything!

Just saw! McFly has been trending on Twitter since this teaser video went live. I reckon it'll be new album and tour!

Love Is on the Radio was their best track in years! I'd love something in that direction.

So they didn't announce a sixth album but they announced a one-off live show at the O2 (which I will be trying to get tickets for) and in the run up to that show on the 20th Nov they'll be releasing one of the 'lost songs' every week - where the lost songs are the ones they recorded 8 years ago which at the time were intended to be for album #6. Hopefully actual new music will then come next year!

The first of 'The Lost Songs' webisodes will be live on their YouTube at 5pm this evening:
I watched the livestream of the press conference on Instagram this morning. It was a revelation to say the least, in that they admitted there was a breakdown in their friendship and relationship after McBusted happened. It certainly made for an odd atmosphere. That said I'm thrilled we're getting new music from them at last! I can't believe how some of their fans - not all, some - have reacted to this though. Especially the ones who have been sending caps lock strewn Tweets daily to them (but mainly Tom it has to be said, as he is the notional lead singer and founder of the band and has had the most prolific solo ventures with his writing, vlogging and musical career and has thus taken the brunt of it) ever since 2013 going WHERE IS ALBUM 6 and who are now moaning like stuck pigs that they're getting album 6, or that it's only a one off show. They seem to have forgotten that not only are they human, but that also three quarters of them are dads and husbands now. This post has been edited by ThePensmith: 10th September 2019, 02:51 PM |

I mean, I'm not a fan, but do you not think it's pretty rubbish that it's a one off show on a week day in London?
There's plenty of singers who are parents, some older than those in McFly and are constantly putting music out as well. |

There's plenty of singers who are parents, some older than those in McFly and are constantly putting music out as well. I've a sneaking suspicion that the promoters will have more dates to add to this first one because there's no way with their fanbase it'll just be the one night. It'll be a sell out. But if not then sometimes you can get to something, sometimes you can't. That's the way the cookie crumbles. They suggested on the press conference this morning they were looking to take small steps back in by just focussing on one thing first rather than say, a 30-40 date tour (I know one show at The O2 seems colossal given they've done countless tours in their career, but in the context of being their first lot of activity as McFly since 2013 it's a small step). |

I think it's more down to them all being busy doing all other projects now tbh - Busted did an arena tour when they first came back in 2014 (and again this year) - and I'd argue McFly are bigger than them.
As much as I'd like it, I can't see this being anymore than the one show and Lost Songs project tbh. |

I'd say going on Twitter that we're in for some extra dates being added to this. Tom's just Tweeted that the presale has gone so crazy he's had to actually buy tickets for his family to make sure they can actually come!

Of course there will be extra dates this one will be just to test the water to see if the interest is still there. I wouldn’t be surprised if the whole fall out story is just for the press to latch on to, to hype up the big comeback. |
