Pleasing to see the brilliant TDCC song promoted to A-list after the last one stalled on the B-list, and also good to see Emeli going A-list!

I'm pretty shocked they've taken Bastille off after only three weeks on the A-list though, especially when Good Grief was A-listed for 9 weeks ohmy.gif and yet they keep the Coldplay song on unnecessarily unsure.gif

Really thought 'Sexual' would finally be added this week after it was given TOTD treatment. Fingers crossed for next week though.

Still no Fifth Harmony sad.gif just when it's doing well on iTunes sad.gif.... hopefully won't plummet

Posted by: ML Hammer95 14th October 2016, 08:55 AM

No Controlla, Just Say or Luv? Poor.

Posted by: Joe. 14th October 2016, 09:02 AM

Are there any invisible spots on the playlist this week, Mango?

Hurrah at Starving, better late than never.

Posted by: honeyG 14th October 2016, 09:07 AM

Hailee Steinfeld and Galantis cheer.gif

No, it doesn't look like there are this week.

Right, I assume Little Mix will be straight to B list next week!

Poor Gaga, C-C-C-C is pretty terrible for her.

Posted by: rob s 14th October 2016, 10:00 AM

Hailee :yahoo: that's all that really interests me this week. I'd imagine FH & NEIKED are certs for next week's playlist!

I could do without a song which has been plaguing the charts for nearly half a year

Regardless of whether it's been plaguing the charts for nearly half a year, it's the next official single, so get over it! Why do you never have anything positive to say?

Posted by: JosephStyles 14th October 2016, 11:30 AM

The Vamps getting an instant add is fantastic, I hope this bodes well for big support this era!

Hailee too wub.gif

Posted by: Jonjo 14th October 2016, 11:31 AM

Boo at no NEIKED. Really thought that would be added this week. Great to see DNCE, Galantis, Hailee and Olly all being added!

Hoping a straight to B-List slot for Little Mix next week!

Posted by: Steve201 14th October 2016, 07:21 PM

Kings of Leon Alisted 13 years into their career and great to see Bad Decisions added to the A List! wub.gif

So this must be the end of the INMWT list with only 1 song there this week although the Amazons new track is great! So does that mean we have less songs in the playlist without them overall or will be get more A/B/C list tracks added?

It's a nice thing saying that the song is shit. Just because you like Drake, doesn't mean everyone else does. And besides, there's fresher songs which they could give time for. There's other newer songs which were on the playlists and got removed too soon to make way for the tripe

fantastic additions this week for galantis/hook n sling + hailee steinfeld/zedd~ cheer.gif

Are you for real? I doubt Mango likes Drake that much lol.

Equally, because you don't like Drake, doesn't mean that R1 shouldn't support him tongue.gif I'm no fan but he's one of the biggest artists in the world and Controlla has only just been promoted to a single, hence why it's playlisted this week. If I had my way, it wouldn't get near the playlist, but it's not up to me and I know people have different tastes.

Posted by: tommie 14th October 2016, 07:51 PM

Laddy Googoo is done on Radio 1, at least for this era. Can't see them playlisting her next single, but then again, with her new alberm being "cawntry" it might be better for her 2 try her luck with Radio 2. x

Posted by: Steve201 14th October 2016, 08:04 PM

Drake like Justin Bieber and Adele will always get heavy support on radio 1 especially with their huge current eras even if the songs dont necessarily chart high!

I think main categories will be more flexible, that's all. Yeah, strange decision, but what if it'll come true?

This week I like Starving...only.

Exactly, I wouldn't call myself a Drake fan at all (though I do like the odd Drake song here and there). Somehow I think you missed the point. Radio 1 playlist songs which are singles. End of.

It's actually not playlisted this week! laugh.gif It was the track of the day not long ago though, wasn't it, so a likely enough add next week.

Controlla makes me sick just thinking about it puke.gif surely they could have picked a song from the album everyone's not bored of?

Anyway, back on topic, how do they edit the lyrics of Lock Doh? I've never heard it played on the radio

131k streams yesterday says people aren't bored of it tongue.gif

(lol I'm defending it as if I'm a fan, I'm really not, it's one of my least favourite songs of the year, but it was an obvious single sadly)

Sean Paul is 43, Sia is 40, are they the oldest people to get playlisted?

I am surprised that Sean Paul has been playlisted with Crick Neck but I am happy for him.

Posted by: honeyG 17th October 2016, 06:45 PM

Paul McCartney was playlisted last year and he's 74.

He wasn't playlisted in his own right though, it was only cos he featured on Rihanna & Kanye's song. As lead artist, the oldest person I can think of is Cher, she was 52 when 'Believe' was released, but they may well have supported her subsequent era too, I'm not sure. 'Celebration' I think would have been the last Madonna single they playlisted, and she would have been 51.

Posted by: ML Hammer95 18th October 2016, 07:00 AM

Crick Neck has been playlisted because it's very catchy, on trend and Sean Paul is still relevant. What with dancehall influencing seeking every other song in the chart and he's been resigned to Island records.

They playlisted "Strong Enough" in 1999, not sure if the other singles from that album were though. They didnt however playlist The Music Is No Good Without You in 2001
