Two weeks left of the year and here we are again. I'll be starting some form of a 2019 year roundup in the countdowns forum soon, so look out for that - probably a little truncated from last year as really I'm not in the best free time/energy space right now. But these are fun.
Little change over the last few weeks since I posted - Dua Lipa extended her #1 run to 4 weeks, becoming the third such this year and equalling the runs at the top for You and I and Icy. This week, she drops to #4, but has plenty potential to rise again next week. Don't Start Now has been a huge triumph for Lipa; despite releasing so late in the year it's already into my year-end top 20, with potential to even hit top ten and beyond. Imo it was robbed a #1 on the official charts.

This week's #1 however is taken by Billie Eilish with the dreamy Everything I Wanted. It's Eilish's first chart topper, as well as - after a string of low top 40s this year - her first top 20, 10, and 5 on my personals. I've been vocal on the forum with how I didn't really 'get' her stuff or find it as unique as many others have - but this track from her is a compelte evolution that has me revaluating what she can bring us. EIW also holds off my recent BJSC entry from SSION and Ariel Pink which has repeaked for a solid top ten run following a first go with a peak of #13 earlier in the year. This week's top 5 is completed by the unlikely pair of Iggy Azalea (with Alice Chater) and Fall Out Boy, who've both come back strong with new tracks lately.

Also within the top ten this week, Taylor Swift finally lands a top ten charter for this era, and Little Mix land a wintry sounding ballad - notably which isn't their Christmas song which is not up my street at all. Imo they really missed a trick in not making Told You So an official single as it shows a mellow and beautiful side to the girls' sound which has been largely missing through their recent singles. Elsewhere in this week's top 40, this week sees big gains for Grimes, Tinashe, Armin van Buuren and Post Malone.

Brand new entries this week come in order from these artists: Lykke Li, The Maine, City and Colour, The Weeknd, Oh Wonder, Lana Del Rey, Stereo Honey, Rubio, MGMT, Marina, King Princess, Nick Murphy, Hybrid Minds, Jhene Aiko, Jake Shears, and a second from Ariel Pink down this end. Expect some more Christmassy ones in next week's chart!

As ever I've linked in my up-to-date spotify radio playlists so you can pretty easily check out some of those tracks in full and see what might be landing next week. I may also add some more youtube links to the list if I get the time this week.
