#10: The Man Who Sold The World {1970}
Votes: 6 Percentage: 60.00% With over half the voters voting for it, The Man Who Sold The World finishes in tenth place. Obviously it includes its title track, but apart from that there isn't any well remembered song on it, so I think it's finished at about the right position. #10: The Man Who Sold The World - 6 votes, 60.00% #11: The Next Day - 2 votes, 22.22% #12: Let's Dance - 4 votes, 44.44% #13: Lodger - 3 votes, 37.50% #14: Heathen - 3 votes, 37.50% #15: David Bowie/Space Oddity - 2 votes, 20.00% / 3 votes, 33.33% (tiebreaker) #16: Reality - 2 votes, 20.00% / 4 votes, 44.44% (tiebreaker) #17: Young Americans - 2 votes, 18.18% / 1 vote, 50.00% (first tiebreaker) / 4 votes, 40.00% (second tiebreaker) #18: Outside - 2 votes, 18.18% / 1 vote, 50.00% (first tiebreaker) / 6 votes, 60.00% (second tiebreaker) #19: Earthling - 2 votes, 28.57% #20: Hours... - 2 votes, 28.57% / 3 votes, 42.86% (tiebreaker) #21: Black Tie White Noise - 2 votes, 28.57% / 4 votes, 57.14% (tiebreaker) #22: David Bowie - 2 votes, 18.18% / 2 votes, 22.22% (tiebreaker) #23: Pin Ups - 2 votes, 18.18% / 7 votes, 77.77% (tiebreaker) #24: Tonight - 2 votes, 28.57% #25: Never Let Me Down - 3 votes, 42.86% Votes close on Monday evening. I've voted Scary Monsters but surprised to see nobody vote for Blackstar so far which I would put out next. Put sentimentality to one side - unless you all genuinely do think it ranks up with his best? A huge improvement on The Next Day, yes, but not sure it really challenges much of the 70s.

Diamond Dogs for me, but after that would be Scary Monsters then maybe Blackstar.
Certainly wouldn't be Low or Station to Station (the title track is one of his best ever) This post has been edited by Severin: Feb 22 2016, 02:00 PM |
