Well good evening mon cherie, rumour has it you've been awaiting the next round of club bizarre so tonight your luck is very much in. I thought I'd go with something a little different this time around as we've rarely gone down tempo in this contest so yes the theme for CBXIII is chill out. It's time to pour yourself a nice long cocktail and relax as we spend the Autumn contest pretending we're all relaxing at an oh so trendy beach bar in the Balearics. I think the theme is relatively easy to define, basically you've got to go for something pretty down tempo but aside from that I don't want to limit the contest in any way The more styles of chill music the better as far as I'm concerned. Just for my our collective sanity, please steer clear of those soundalike tropical house tracks as I'm not sure how many more of those we can take! As always, I'll be bowing to the superior dance knowledge of our mods and sharing the submission list with them. So please stick within the rules as you know they'll be straight on yo ass if you don't. To submit your entry, please just drop me (dandy*) a friendly PM together with details of the artist, the song and a link to the track on youtube or somewhere like that. Please also feel free to let me know your favourite cocktail and summer holiday destination, I figure I may find some new ones to try... Before you submit please double check the list of previous entries as they will not be allowed again, you can view the list here until your chilled out heart is content. You have about a week normally for these things so let's say that confirmations close at 23:59 on Thursday 15th October. That should mean we can start the contest over the weekend. Woo and hoo. Please do keep your entry a secret guys or you will spoil the fun. It's one of those lovely bonds that only you and I will share for the next fortnight or so. Totes emosh. All are welcome to enter and indeed the more the better, whether you've entered every contest to date or you're a brand new hopeful. Stay chilled folks x D* |

This theme should be well in my wheelhouse, just need to find something from a sufficiently obscure artist x |

Hmmm, quite a wide theme but nothing's standing out to me immediately, I'll have to look.

Not participated in this contest before but keen to. How loose is the interpretation of 'dance' generally? I've got a couple of songs in mind that I wouldn't post about in this forum but also wouldn't be totally out of place.

Submit it and find out!
I think chill out in particular is quite a broad theme so they may be okay. I'd say it has to have an electronic base to the track though given the forum. |

I've sent a few songs that I wouldn't really call 'dance' per se, I think pretty much any style of electronic music would generally be fair play here. Songs that get thrown out for not being sufficiently dance tend to be ones that are basically just pop songs with vaguely electronic elements I think. x

Yeah this is going to be quite a broad theme but as long as it fits in with dance or electronic we won't rule it out

This is my kind of contest! I’ve been literally pleading with Lewis for a chilled theme and I’m pleased this is what dandy went with!
I have so many chillout albums and I’m not even ashamed to show you just some of my vast collection that I’ve built up over the last couple of decades! I don’t immediately have something to send though but I will narrow down the potentials. |

I better hurry up and confirm before Andrew snatches my choice ;P Haha you go ahead Addy, I’m really looking forward to hearing your discovery especially! It’s hard to know what to send for such a contest because you want people to enjoy it and give votes for it too. I will commence the filtering process and see what I’m left with and pick from that. |

Also someone should give Mattias a nudge as he always enjoyed chillout music too, plus we all miss him don’t we.
