I've been noticing that Love Me Harder has spent quite a few weeks in the top 100 without reaching the top 40 so I thought to look at how close she is at beating a record!
Most weeks on UK Singles Top 100 without reaching Top 40: 45 King - The King Is Here/The 900 Number (Pk : 60) (32 weeks)
The King Is Here debuted at #100 on 11/03/1989 for two weeks, before re-entering on #100 () and peaking at #60 19 weeks later!

30/12/1989: 94-89-84-91-98-
I've done the run manually so it's missing two weeks but you get the idea
It also had a seperate run at just #73 in 1990:
11/08/1990: #73

Can she do it? She's being helped by streams as usual but the s/o run is still doing quite well
And at TKIH's 3 weeks at #100!
how many top 100 weeks did 'Let It Go' (Demi Lovato) get then? 20 weeks top 75 with a #42 peak, it should be close to that record if not ahead (to answer the question Ariana has no chance of beating it)
Eva Cassidy "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" has more impressive 'weeks on chart without reaching the Top 40'.

39 weeks, though only 9 were Top 75.
Demi 'only' had 27 weeks top 100 but it's possible that could still increase.
We're comparing a 13 week #41-100 chart run to a 32 week one, she's not even close to overtaking that UK chart record; and even Demi Lovato's "Let It Go" is nearer.
It's a shame "Love Me Harder" never went T40 really, but I wonder if it'll receive a big boost from something later in the year/in years to come that gives it a more deserving peak; fantastic collaboration.
Don't know about Top 100, but for the Top 75
20 - Demi Lovato - "Let It Go"
15 - Ken Barrie - "Postman Pat"
14 - Lynyrd Skynyrd - "Sweet Home Alabama" *
13 - Ariana Grande featuring The Weeknd - "Love Me Harder"
12 - T.I. - "Whatever You Like"
Odyssey - "Magic Touch"
Drake featuring Kanye West, Lil Wayne & Eminem - "Forever"
Ed Sheeran - "Photograph"
Bobby G - "Big Deal"
11 - Vampire Weekend - "A-Punk"
One 2 Many - "Downtown"
Nitro Deluxe - This Brutal House
Newton Faulkner - "Teardrop"
Kenny Loggins - "Danger Zone"
George Ezra - "Listen To The Man"
* - "Sweet Home Alabama" was also part of the "Freebird EP" which did make the Top 40.
Ariana Grande will probably start to fall fast now. Maybe another 3 more weeks? Streaming is the only thing holding her up now, it's left the top 100 on itunes so that won't be a big factor.
You do realise that Photograph is still hanging around and has a chance of beating the record, right?
Assuming she drops out next week (she's currently at #100), she will have made 17 weeks in the top 100. Not bad going
