BuzzJack Music Forum _ UK Charts _ Come on Ariana!

I've been noticing that Love Me Harder has spent quite a few weeks in the top 100 without reaching the top 40 thinking.gif so I thought to look at how close she is at beating a record! cheer.gif

Most weeks on UK Singles Top 100 without reaching Top 40: 45 King - The King Is Here/The 900 Number (Pk : 60) (32 weeks)

The King Is Here debuted at #100 on 11/03/1989 for two weeks, before re-entering on #100 (laugh.gif) and peaking at #60 19 weeks later!

Run: 11/03/1989: 100(N)-100
24/06/1989: 100®-97-92-87-84-84-87-99-87-85-95-92-88-92-86-96-x-88-74-69-60-71-75-85
30/12/1989: 94-89-84-91-98-

I've done the run manually so it's missing two weeks but you get the idea smile.gif

It also had a seperate run at just #73 in 1990:
11/08/1990: #73

LOVE ME HARDER RUN
PEAK: 48
41-100 weeks: 13

Date Status Position S/Pos

08/11/2014 148
15/11/2014 up 82 66
22/11/2014 up 9 57
29/11/2014 non-mover 57 63
06/12/2014 up 7 50 61
13/12/2014 down 1 51 54
20/12/2014 down 7 58 73
27/12/2014 up 2 56 72
03/01/2015 down 8 64 64
10/01/2015 up 9 55 72
17/01/2015 up 1 54 76
24/01/2015 down 1 55 71
31/01/2015 up 7 48 69
07/06/2015 down 8 56 93

Can she do it? She's being helped by streams as usual but the s/o run is still doing quite well thinking.gif

And laugh.gif at TKIH's 3 weeks at #100!

how many top 100 weeks did 'Let It Go' (Demi Lovato) get then? 20 weeks top 75 with a #42 peak, it should be close to that record if not ahead (to answer the question Ariana has no chance of beating it)

Eva Cassidy "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" has more impressive 'weeks on chart without reaching the Top 40'.

Date: 13/03/1999 - Run: 138-185 (2 wks)
Re 01: 10/02/2001: 117-96-112-160-0-153-130-92-114-80-61-90-102-45-{42}-48-56-63-74-80-74-88-0-0-81-87-98-97-73-82 (27-17c wks, 29 wsf)
Re 02: 20/10/2001: 145-187-0-0-176-196-139-164-183-155-178 (9-7c wks, 38 wsf)
Re 03: 23/06/2007: 190 (1 wk)

39 weeks, though only 9 were Top 75.

I'm not sure but I was recording her run for a while but then I stopped mellow.gif

Does anyone know the more recent records for this? 2014 or in the 2010s? Or, if a consecutive weeks in 41-100 w/o reaching top 40 is possible that would be cool2.gif

Demi 'only' had 27 weeks top 100 but it's possible that could still increase.

We're comparing a 13 week #41-100 chart run to a 32 week one, she's not even close to overtaking that UK chart record; and even Demi Lovato's "Let It Go" is nearer.

It's a shame "Love Me Harder" never went T40 really, but I wonder if it'll receive a big boost from something later in the year/in years to come that gives it a more deserving peak; fantastic collaboration.

No but as mentioned earlier I was thinking more of how close she is to nearing a recent record I.e Let It Go. However LMH's sales are nearly out of the top 100 mellow.gif

And Bre, even in the unlikeliness she DOES get the record, what counts is she gets it at all smile.gif since King could in possibility suddenly climb to top 40 laugh.gif

Ariana Grande will probably start to fall fast now. Maybe another 3 more weeks? Streaming is the only thing holding her up now, it's left the top 100 on itunes so that won't be a big factor.

Well who knows? thinking.gif
I've kept on seeing Money On My Mind about 50 places higher on combined than sales top 100, until January where obviously sales boosted...

You do realise that Photograph is still hanging around and has a chance of beating the record, right?

Possibly, but at the moment Ariana never dropped out during her run, and is currently ahead with more weeks as well as being higher than Ed.

Assuming she drops out next week (she's currently at #100), she will have made 17 weeks in the top 100. Not bad going smile.gif
