GUESS WHAT...YEP, SO CLOSE...
Just missing out (well, ok, by about eight or nine points) at a place in the final, it's yet another DNQ. The powers that be in Tartford are so enraged, they were prepared to go to war with every country which failed to vote, until they realised that would involve money and some form of motivation. Instead, they have decided to do the next best thing - sulk. Until next time then... |

FOR OUR NEXT FLOP...
Well, she was responsible for Tartford's best ever placing in BJSC with Say It Like You Mean It, so maybe...just maybe... |

Congrats on qualifying! Was hoping this would be as good as "Say It Like You Mean It" and I wasn't disappointed. I'll probably prefer "Say It" in the long run but am so glad you've sent Maria to BJSC a second time

I agree, I much prefer Say It, but Killing All My Darlings is still a solid pop gem. It will probably come last though I guess |

It has been known as the 'underdogs' and more commonly 'if One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest was a country', but this day proved to be a historic one for Tartford as they reach the top 20 of the Buzzjack Song Contest for the very first time. Head of the 'Song For Tarty' Committe, Skabbi Ballsak, said "we had no idea other countries knew we existed! They certainly and conveniently forget our existence whenever we beg for money! Oh we came 17th? What did we send again?"
Son Lux's 'You Don't Know Me' is the track in question and racked up 195 points. "Well at least it should take our people's minds off the whole 5p bag riots, which was pointless in hindsight. 96% of Tartfordians are shoplifters anyway and don't need a bag. Hopefully this result in this song contest thing will encourage them to stop being scumbags." Tartford's next entry has already been chosen and predictions range from coming 42nd in the final and coming last in the semis. |

This was definitely one of your best entries (along with Humate/Disco Citizens/Venemy), very pleased to see it breaking new ground for Tartford! <3

I'm so thrilled for you that you managed a first top 20! ESPECIALLY with a song this good, currently hooked on it.

yay! Bout time you got a hit, there have been some quirky and pop gems along the way that shoulda struck a chord. That you did in such a strong contest is icing on the cake, I literally had to drop 5 great tracks from the points (including yours, James', Jade's to name but 3) that would usually have been top 10

Continuing down the more alternative route this month with the glorious Cigerattes After Sex - Nothing's Gonna Hurt You Baby. Some hype pretty please. |

We made it into another final! In fact, early on at one point, we were THIRD! We thought, 'this good fortune cannot possibly last'...and obviously it didnt. But 25th was far higher than I was expecting, so I was pleasantly surprised. Thanks to all who gave it points.
Over the next few days, and because us Tartfordians love a bandwagon due to us not possessing any originality whatsoever, we've compiled our own EOY Top 50 (excluding our own entries of course). As a taster, here's the countries who appear on our top 50. If you feature, feel flattered, or ashamed, that a lowlife country like Tartford could appreciate your efforts. Aeroche have the most entries - 3 Altyr Muunilinst, Aquafina, Fljotavik, FSR Rontvia, Hushkanukia, Kluminican Republic, Oslol, Republic Of Adonia, Seyetena and Triangledonia all have 2 each Aeondia, Actual Republic Of Bellamia, Beaverdonia,Cadelicia, Cumulonimbia, Daehun, Desbuanda, Harmonica, Hendinia, Jadakissnia, Kylienips, Land Of DW, Mulgracia, Ojnoj, Persephonia, Quintessa, Ramrynia, Sandeborg, Singerpurear, Summericia, Terra Avium, Tinnmark, Trifoski, Unovia, Utopia and Yehesi all have one entry each. Tracks which would have appeared high such as O.N.E and Safe With You have been excluded due to them charting high in my chart ages before they appeared in BJSC. Basically, this is a top 50 of tracks I discovered via BJSC. Will there be in depth praise and intellectual musings about each entry.......well, no actually. But hope you enjoy anyway |

Congrats on the surprise hit with Cigarettes After Sex, have to admit on first listen it just seemed dull to me but it did grow quite a lot over the course of the contest, definitely understanding the appeal more now. Just proof that bad odds can be overcome
Assuming it'll be 'Waves' appearing here for me. (Hooray for making it with 1 track anyway!) |
