Olivia Rodrigo's run at #1 could extent to 8 weeks on the singles chart, while Joel Corry's new single BED with RAYE & David Guetta is expected to debut high. There's also new tracks from Pop Smoke, Post Malone, Wolf Alice, Maisie Peters and Steps/Michelle Visage
On the album chart, Digga D's mixtape Made In The Pyrex could enter at #1, while Architects are set for their highest chart placing yet with ninth album For Those That Wish to Exist. Albums from Lucy Spraggan, Maximo Park and Alice Cooper may debut in the top 10, plus there's new releases from Madison Beer, Nick Cave/Warren Ellis, Julien Baker, King Gizzard, Epica and Roosevelt

Should be an interesting week
Hope Olivia gets an 8th week at no.1 - nothing else in the top 10 is anything close to it in terms of quality. Plus it’s almost guaranteed a 7th week on top of the US Billboard chart (confirmed early next week) . There hasn’t been a no.1 to manage topping both U.K. and US charts at the same time for that long since Ed Sheeran in 2017 when ‘Shape of you’ topped both charts at the same time for 10 non consecutive weeks. Doubt she’ll beat that but we’ll see.
Curious to see where Joel Corry’s new song will end up. I reckon it could debut in the top 10 and slowly creep to number 1 over the coming weeks, certainly hope so anyways. Don’t mind Olivia staying at number 1 in the meantime though as I love the song
Weeknd creap in top 10 get fish out. Hopefully sza on acr. Find top end chart like mouldy cheese get feed up Paradise without you wellerman and driving license get out my head need few new songs in top 10
Hoping Architects can add to the fantastic run of #1 albums so far this year!
same, think Architects have a chance to beat Digga D, as he's not doing as well as expected on streaming
not much going on in singles, Joel Corry also starting slower than I thought
Just get annoying double count
what double count? Are Olivia's streams being counted twice?
I too prefer the old sales format - but I guess it just doesn't work these days. Times change and the system needs to change along with it.
I see it as two very distinct eras, I don't ever compare sales from pre-streaming to those that people achieve these days. They're basically two completely different sets of rules and I treat them as such.
There's a nice underrated benefit to the system in theory though, you get to put more weight into the stuff you like more -> listen to more, instead of reading your music consumption as a hard 1 sale equally for your favourite & most middling purchases. Same principle why basically every voting game on this site has ranked points rather than just counting the number of voters per entry. I think it's profoundly interesting* to see what inspires people to continue listening to week in week out, as opposed to a fleeting few weeks interest.
*granted the content & progression of it is usually anything but
Almost time for First Look!
I hope Friday or Wellerman is no. 1 today.
20 Joel Corry, RAYE & David Guetta - BED
19 Digga D - Bluuwuu
That sound in the chorus.. Woi part 2
This almost makes Whoopty sound good
18 Cardi B - Up
17 Ava Max - My Head & My Heart
Not listening but Lol that R1 are seemingly playing Bluuwuu. Even the officially released version has a load of https://genius.com/Digga-d-bluuwuu-lyrics as it's full of gang violence references.
I thought Ava would be here today! Hope this does a better job of holding its position through the week than Kings & Queens consistently did.
16 A1 x J1 - Latest Trends
15 Ed Sheeran - Afterglow
Bet 14 non-mover bieber face
14 Doja Cat - Streets
Can someone wake me up doja cat stop sing make me nod of
13 Justin Bieber - Anyone
12 The Weeknd - Save Your Tears
Please atb get top 10 if 11 piss off
Save Your Tears
11 ATB, Topic & A7S - Your Love (9PM)
Now really angry 😡 U.K. publicity piss me of now 3 week same top 10
Your Love (9PM) love love love
#11 for ATB at this stage is promising, he should have no difficulty peaking top 10 next week if not this.
10 Meduza feat. Dermot Kennedy - Paradise
9 Shane Codd - Get Out My Head
20 is a hugely disappointing start for Joel especially with the huge Apple push
More like Shane get out of top 10 you gone wrong way
New peak on Spotify for this! Thanks to being #1 on Hot Hits no doubt.
8 HVME - Goosebumps
When last time same songs top 10 for 3 week
7 The Kid LAROI - WITHOUT YOU
All these dance songs really do absolutely nothing for me. I love a generic bop but come on, it sounds so lazy.
6 Anne-Marie, KSI & Digital Farm Animals - Don't Play
Don't Play and Drivers License are the best (only good) songs in the Top 10, we stan.
5 Lil Tjay & 6LACK - Calling My Phone
4 Tiësto - The Business
3 Riton & Nightcrawlers feat. Mufasa & Hypeman - Friday
I love that Tiesto track
Friday and The Business are hot trash 🤮
I'm surprised how well Friday is doing. Debuted in the top 30, now no. 7 on Friday and no. 3 today.
This is actually going to end up out peaking The Nightcrawlers original isn't it
I think I like this song less every time I hear it
Which makes it even more annoying to have in my head all week
2 Nathan Evans, 220 KID & Billen Ted - Wellerman
1 Olivia Rodrigo - drivers license
Drivers License is the chart saviour of 2021, no song comes close in the Top 10!
I just switch radio 1 of early agin
Someone pls stop 'Friday', thank you x
Thankfully I've only heard it in full once or twice, but drivers license is truly dull for me
I absolutely don’t get Drivers License either - clearly it deserves its long number one run but I’ll be happy when it finally departs.
although I don’t particularly like the prospect of Wellerman going number one either so hopefully something else comes along soon.
The first week DL is on ACR (unless there will be remix next week) is the week starting 12th of March. Bieber will probably release his next single then as the album is out on 19th.
Olivia better get on that phone to Drake or Cardi and work on that remix. Tbh if it was the USA charts that had the UK rules of ACR from week 10 she probably would to extend her no.1
Sorry give everyone headache I’m just charts getting annoying late hearing same songs in top 10 3 week really does re fresh
Has there not been an ACR update from friday’s chart? Or have I just missed it
I'd be here for 'Wellerman' fluking a #1, just please don't let 'Friday' do that, would be the worst non-charity #1 for quite a while.
Would not mind if Olivia just manages to swerve ACR and hang on a bit longer if there's nothing coming to legitimately beat her in the next few weeks though xx
Oh really thought Anyone did better than that, it peaked at #4 after all.
Wellerman is a lazy novelty song IMO, unpopular opinion I know - I hope it doesn’t get to #1
It is literally just a cover of a sea shanty, it wasn't created with the intent of being a hit single, just a bit of fun on TikTok. (Unless you mean the remix of it is lazy in which case fair)
I don't remotely rate it but I get some amusement out of there being an unironic hit single that explains the order that days of the week are in, not dissimilar to one of the most derided lyrics of...that other song called "Friday"
The Darkness and Cure should get shout outs for days of the week songs too 😀
I just thought of the double Saturday in the week of the Black Eyed Peas
The Cure did it best
'Friday' should be deleted from existence for fear of an alien race judging us for it.
Craig David wins the award for best song ordering the days of the week, fantastic tune.
I'll give this particular accolade to Avicii's Waiting For Love.

Maximo Park!!
Wow, a pretty open race in the albums at this early stage then!
Okay so we were all pretty wrong when it came to the album chart this week! I suppose it's still all to play for.
For reference: Maximo Park's last album opened with 6,545 in April 2017 and Alice Cooper's last album opened with 6,887 in August 2017.
What's Maximo Park's highest peak on the album chart to date?
I haven't even heard anything of theirs since the Our Velocity/Books From Boxes era.
who knew Maximo Park were still relevant enough for midweek albums #1?!
Lmaooo those albums Is streaming missing altogether?
Wow! Shocked at Maximo Park, I loved 'Our Velocity' but haven't heard any of their new releases in years.
Digga D wouldn't be top 5 with streaming missing
Maxïmo Park outselling Architects in the midweeks is certainly unexpected! 'Our Velocity' is one of my favourite 00s indie tracks and I enjoyed a few of their other early singles too, can't say I've been too taken by their more recent output.
With such a small sales gap between the current top 5 I expect Digga D will end up rising to #1, unless one of the non new releases is also still within striking distance.
https://www.architectsmerch.co/product/fttwte-cd/
Architects' CDs are down to £5!
If streaming's not missing more than usual, #1 might do less than 6k this week.
Rag'n'Bone Man at #32!
I have no idea why ElyOtto isn't in the top 100 at all when he's significantly higher on streaming than he was this time last week?
Mogwai 'only' down to #12!
Singles update fully filled in on previous page including top 5 sales
Madison Beer deserves more
Maximo Park were outsold yesterday by the three albums immediately underneath them, but only Digga D is selling enough to overtake (and is on track to just avoid taking Dua's record for lowest #1 sales).
PJ Harvey - Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea is one of my all-time favourite albums. It would be fantastic if it could improve on its #23 peak and stay Top 20, but that might have been a more realistic prospect if it and the demos album were combined.
Jessie Ware #90
Wellerman less than 1K behind... Expect Olivia to increase that lad through the week but could be close next week before she hits ACR!
Madison Beer’s Life Support is really on life support in the UK charts...will someone pull the plug and make her fall out of the top-40? Likely.
Architects have just had tickets for an "intimate" show at Pryzm (2000 capacity) go on sale, all tickets were sold with a copy of the album and have now all gone!
great to see PJ Harvey in the top 10
and the amazing Julien Baker Ain the top 15
wow at Maximo Park, and 6K already, sure they can push on social media and grab at least 2K and they're safe for #1
Healthier album sales than I was expecting
'The #1 album might sell <6k this week' is the hottest new BuzzJack meme on the market x
(sadly next week we have Kings Of Leon's album which will obviously do way more than that so no chance of the meme continuing for a third week in a row)
Bad Boy Chiller Crew coming for their first top 100
Maximo park have been live streaming all night, they are doing personally signed albums (where you can tell them what message you want to write), they've also announced 2 shows on sale tomorrow if you buy the album, so I'm pretty confident they will get the no1.
Wow Rag'n'Bone Man getting that climb purely from his appearance on Ant & Dec? Pretty impressive if so!
You know sales are low in the albums when half the top 10 are NEs!
Fingers crossed for the multi-Mercury winning Polly Jean!
ELO ran through the days of the week (on The Diary Of Horace Wimp) over 20 years before Craig David.
Wow at PJ Harvey. Slight shame that the superior "Is this Desire" reissue or demos didn't even make the top 100 but any success is appreciated.
I think a few of those new albums in the top 10 will fade throughout the week
That make a bit more sense then!
I'm not surprised the new Wolf Alice single isn't in the Top 40... but it is glorious. What a band!
https://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/digga-d-on-battling-for-this-weeks-number-1-album-with-made-in-the-pyrex-i-dont-expect-to-be-number-2__32581/, still behind Maximo Park and Alice Cooper but presumably now ahead of Architects then.
Got feeling only ava Max replace sza gone stuck another week same song top 20 think might skip radio 1 this week

Good sales for Maximo, they've been pushing all day today (as opposed to the hours after the update yesterday) - so I wouldn't be too surprised to see them still at #1
Does Rag N Bone Man have any chance of holding up given the complete lack of streams?
John Hughes movie climb any more
oh very good update for Maximo Park!
Digga D should easily overtake Alice Cooper by tomorrow then, although I reckon it'll go down to the wire for the #1.
https://www.nme.com/blogs/nme-blogs/maximo-parks-new-album-quicken-the-heart-is-heading-for-number-one-whats-their-secret-47595
Interestingly, Maximo Park's third album in 2009 was #1 in the midweeks before falling to #6
^don't think anybody thought they had a chance even if they were #1 in the Mids, it's just NME making the charts look more interesting
actually Green Day ended up at #1 with nearly 80K and Maximo Park did 19K, but that was a massive drop cos their previous album had opened with 39K
Apart from Digga D i see the rest of the top 5 struggling to stay top 75 next week and possibly the same for the White Stripes and Neil Young. I thought BED would be easily top 20 by now.
Repeat listens and I still think 'BED' is nothing special, it's not bad but feels very by the numbers to me. The new version of 9PM has actually grown on me though, wouldn't mind if that climbed to the Top 10.
To be fair apart from 'Head and Heart' Joel Corry epitomises mediocre inoffensive dance music.
Hoping that Joel can climb into the top 20 and that ATB can climb into the top 10 on Friday
The gap between #10 and #11 is getting bigger so, at this rate, don't expect ATB to be top 10 (I'd say it's actually more likely to be #12 than #10)
ATB might stand better for Top 10 next week.
ATB, Tiesto and Maximo Park all slaying. Is this supposed to be the 90s, 00s or 2021?! :')
Just a question
Today Digga D has released tickets to Exclusive Shows on his website (each ticket comes with a free album CD)
Would the ticket purchases contribute to this week’s sales?
This is the OCC we are talking about so who knows!
It's not a free giveaway - in the purchase you're buying the ticket + a copy of the album together. Architects and Maximo Park are also doing it
but actually it depends
if in order to buy the tix, you are forced to buy the album, then those bundles are not allowed
the occ is very clear about that in their rules
there always has to be the option that you can buy the tix without the album
and different prices for ticket alone and ticket+album
if they automatically add an album to a tix, then it's not allowed
so it depends...
check section 8.3 in here:
https://www.officialcharts.com/media/657558/official-uk-album-chart-rules-jan-2020.pdf
the OCC is very inconsistent by definition, so who knows
we also don't know which cases were allowed and which excluded...

The top five singles and albums are still in the same positions as yesterday's update! Maximo Park increasing their sales more than Digga D as well
Wow I read it wrong, Digga D has actually moved down a place since yesterday
Full update coming shortly

NO OTHER SALES INFO
For the third week on the trot, we worry about the #1 breaking the record for lowest #1 sales, yet the #1 may end up passing 10k.
It's bad that the #1 passing 10k is deemed some sort of success though.
Mogwai are down 1-18 today.
Maxïmo Park really do have this on lock then!
Ah looks like a lock on for Maximo Park at #1 then!
Good to see Rag'n'Bone Man rising from the Monday mids also
The biggest gain in this update was for Architects, top three ahead of Alice Cooper should be achievable for them at least!
I'm guessing Save Your Tears is #11...
and some distance behind #10?
Anyone know where We're Good is? Thank you!
Hoping Lucy can keep that #5 in the albums, she's such an underrated artist it hurts
Hope Joseph got nice acr update this week get some song stuck in top 20 while out but careful don’t let blinding lights back in top 20
Would love to see 'Save Your Tears' and '9PM' rise into the Top 10, spare us another week of the same lineup there.
I've been fine with the top ten for the last few weeks just because most of the long runners are songs I really like, but now there's definitely a queue of songs just behind that deserve to be top ten hits and I'd love to see The Weeknd and ATB make it soon!
I have a gut feeling 'Save Your Tears' is actually going to be lumbered with a #11 peak.
Tbh it’s exceeded my expectations already so I wouldn’t be mad at a #11 peak. It does, of course, deserve even better.
Save Your Tears is closer to the top ten than it was this time last week but still doesn't look likely.
ATB has plenty of space to climb but worries The Weeknd has peaked in sales!

Another huge boost for Architects puts them closer to Maximo Park than to Digga D!
Is Wonderwall still top 100?
Hang in there Julien! My yellow vinyl turned up today *.*
Architects have been selling ticket bundles all week so I wondered why they hadn't increased much in the last couple of days!
I expect they'll have a big boost tomorrow now and get the #1 tbh
Did We're Good fall again in Today's update?
#PrayForDua
Oh, poor Maxïmo Park if they get denied their first #1 album at the last hurdle!
so it's the battle of who sells more concert tix rather that who sells more albums it seems :/
seems like a bit of a messy chart battle tbh
if you can buy tickets without the album it's ok
what's wrong is forcing people to buy the album (again) in order to get a ticket
Maximo Park £3.99 on iTunes.
Any chance of Save Your Tears reaching the top 10 tomorrow?
Has heat gone up at all
Glass Animals climbed to a new peak on Spotify. Hope they climb officially tomorrow. They always do best on the final charts than any of the midweek updates. Same for Duncan Lawrence
I thought ticket bundles didn't count towards the UK chart (they certainly never seemed to have the same ridiculous distortionary effect they did in the US). Maybe the rules are just slightly different here ~
I don't really care too much who gets the #1 between the current top 2, Architects would at least feel a bit more current/relevant I guess (and either one would be a first #1 after over a decade of releasing albums). Looks like Digga D will fall a bit short of even the 9-10k I was predicting for him, even for just being a mixtape this does seem like a little bit of an underperformance!
It's a little :') when a #1 album maybe getting a second week in the top 40 is actually a pleasant surprise but I'm happy it hasn't actually collapsed out of the top 200 as I was fully expecting it to. Their last album in 2017 fell 6-61 in its second week, and it seems they have never had an album spend more than 3 weeks in the top 100. They managed 3 weeks with 1999's 'Come On Die Young', 2013's 'Les Revenants' soundtrack (which actually missed the top 40 but had 2 separate runs in the top 100) and 2014's 'Rave Tapes', all their other entries had only one or two weeks. Maybe this one could yet give them another album with 3 weeks in the top 100?
I think I am going to check out the album, the first 2 singles were pretty good and I'm even more impressed with the third single 'Pat Stains' which I only finally got around to listening to yesterday.
Maybe since sales are so low at the top end Mogwai naturally fall less but I guess that would have been the case with other second week albums.
Sales generally stay the same at other positions outside the top end, even if sales at that end are low.
Is it really gonna be 3 weeks in a row with the same top 10? Jesus wept... just think if ACR didn't exist how long these same 10 wouldn't be shifting.
At least I like most of them!
Incredible! tbh that would almost be preferable just to see how many top 10 weeks it would have 'naturally' achieved.
Are Majestic and Boney M anywhere near the top 40 today?
