'Legend' is one of only 3 Albums to spend more than 600 Weeks in the UK Top 100:,

UK ALBUMS WITH THE MOST TOP 100 WEEKS

1) Gold - Greatest Hits - ABBA - 688 Weeks
2) Greatest Hits - Queen - 677 Weeks
3) Legend - Bob Marley & The Wailers - 659 Weeks
4) Rumours - Fleetwood Mac - 577 Weeks
5) Bat Out Of Hell - Meat Loaf - 524 Weeks

It is the 4th Most Top 75 Weeks Album & 'Rumours' is 5th:,

UK ALBUMS WITH THE MOST TOP 75 WEEKS

1) Gold - Greatest Hits - ABBA - 469 Weeks
2) Bat Out Of Hell - Meat Loaf - 451 Weeks
3) Greatest Hits - Queen - 434 Weeks
4) Legend - Bob Marley & The Wailers - 419 Weeks
5) Rumours - Fleetwood Mac - 411 Weeks

And from August 1981 to January 1989 the entire Top 100
was counted. 'Legend' gained 30 Chart Weeks from that time.
'Greatest Hits' by Queen gained 62 Weeks, 'Rumours' gained
112 Weeks, & 'Bat Out Of Hell' gained 34 Weeks. You add them
to their Top 75 Weeks to find the Top 5 Albums with the most
UK Chart Weeks:,

UK ALBUMS WITH THE MOST CHART WEEKS

1) Rumours - Fleetwood Mac - 523 Weeks
2) Greatest Hits - Queen - 496 Weeks
3) Bat Out Of Hell - Meat Loaf - 485 Weeks
4) Gold - Greatest Hits - ABBA - 469 Weeks
5) Legend - Bob Marley & The Wailers - 449 Weeks

And I also worked out how many Top 75 Weeks Albums
1, 2, 3, & 5 would have if Various Artist & Film Soundtrack
Albums were removed from the Top 75 from August 1981
to January 1989.

Even with their extra Top 75 Weeks 'ABBA Gold' is still in 1st place:

UK ALBUMS WITH THE MOST TOP 75 WEEKS - REVISED

1) Gold - Greatest Hits - ABBA - 469 Weeks
2) Greatest Hits - Queen - 461 Weeks (It gains 27 ‘extra’ Top 75 Weeks)
3) Bat Out Of Hell - Meat Loaf - 459 Weeks (It gains 8 ‘extra’ Top 75 Weeks)
4) Rumours - Fleetwood Mac - 453 Weeks (It gains 42 ‘extra’ Top 75 Weeks)
5) Legend - Bob Marley & The Wailers - 425 Weeks (It gains 6 ‘extra’ Top 75 Weeks)

Thanks of that Colin. I couldn't find a definite figure for Legend so I went for the vague "over ten years" safe in the knowledge that it would be true. I now see that I could have said "over 12 1/2 years".
