This week, Ministry of Sound Radio has rebranded to Ministry of Sound LIVE.

They have relaunched the app for Android and iOS with multiple channels you can listen to with different genres. You can also listen through their website here.

For the main station though, not much has changed in terms of programming. However, there appears to be a shift in terms of music output. This past hour I have heard Naughty Boy's Runnin', Jason Derulo's Cheyenne and Drake's Hotline Bling. As a long time listener, I'm not sure how I feel about this as I've always been quite the fan of their strong dance music output and if I wanted those songs then I could listen to Radio 1, Capital etc.

The playlist has also been reduced to 'The Hits' and 'New Music'.

The Hits
Avicii - Broken Arrows
Calvin Harris + Disciples - How Deep Is Your Love
Diplo & Sleepy Tom - Be Right There
Disclosure feat. Sam Smith - Omen
Duke Dumont - Ocean Drive
Format:B - Chunky
Galantis - Peanut Butter Jelly
KDA feat. Tinie Tempah & Katy B - Turn The Music Louder (Rumble)
Kygo feat. Ella Henderson - Here For You
Martin Solveig & GTA - Intoxicated
Philip George & Anton Powers - Alone No More
Rudimental feat. Ed Sheeran - Lay It All On Me
Sigala - Easy Love
Sigma & Diztortion feat. Jacob Banks - Redemption

New Music
Blinkie - Don't Give Up (On Love)
Disclosure - Jaded
Ellie Goulding - On My Mind (Jax Jones Remix)
Icarus - Ride This Train
Jacob Plant feat. Example - Reflections
Lost Frequencies feat. Janieck Devy - Reality
Martin Solveig feat. Sam White - +1
Matrix & Futurebound feat. V. Bozeman - Happy Alone
Oliver Heldens & Shaun Frank feat. Delaney Jane - Shades Of Grey (Nora En Pure Remix)
Sigala - Sweet Lovin' (Track of the Week)

No sign of the R&B/Hip-Hop tracks they've been playing yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if they slowly make their way on there over the coming weeks.

Recent Releases...

Perfectly Chilled (Out 23/10/15)

The second installment from the 'Chilled' series, though another compilation to add to their plethora of chill out compilations, this album pretty much features a multitude of songs that are not really fast-paced and not explicitly in the dance genre either with the likes of Sam Smith, Hozier, James Bay, Coldplay and Birdy.

________________________________________________

Rapper's Delight (Out 09/10/15)

I actually won the CD copy of this through Ministry of Sound's Twitter account and although I wasn't expecting much, it is an album full of classic Hip-Hop songs all mixed together which works really well. Named after The Sugarhill Gang's single (which is included on the album), expect to hear the likes of Jay Z, Missy Elliott, Nas, Nelly and some Grime from Dizzee Rascal and Giggs.

________________________________________________

The Morning After (Out 09/10/15)

Another chill out album aimed at those wanting some recovery the morning after the night before. This is the second album in this series which features more of the kind of chilled music I prefer such as Jamie xx, FKA twigs and remixes of Years & Years and Sigala. This one is a good'un.

________________________________________________

The Mash Up Mix 2015 (Out 25/09/15)

Still going strong, this is the umpteenth compilation in this series mixed by the Cut Up Boys. Blending dance classics with new tunes, if you have an ear for something unique then this will be right up your street.

Ministry of Sound presents a definitive mix of summer anthems ready to beat down on every beach, bash and BBQ blow-out across the nation.

60 tracks of only the very hottest dance hits that would make any party holiday incomplete otherwise. Kicking off with the chart-topping Sigala featuring John Newman and Nile Rodgers, Give Me Your Love is joined by huge dance A-listers Avicii, Calvin Harris, Major Lazer and David Guetta. 2016’s Summer Anthem Freak Like Me by Lee Walker Vs DJ Deeon is followed up by a sea-spray of Ibiza club classic tracks, from Armand Van Helden, Swedish House Mafia, Michael Gray and Architects.

Chilled House Ibiza 2016 (Out 17/06/16)

QUOTE
The much famed series returns with a soundtrack to transport you into the sunshine. Whether it’s for those horizontal days basking on a beach, or just wishing that’s where you were, this is the definitive collection of sun-kissed chilled house originals and remixes essential of any ultimate summer getaway.

Disc 1 features the biggest names in dance music but setting the tone with the relaxed remix of Sigala Featuring John Newman and Nile Rogers Give Me Your Love followed by Mike Posner I Took A Pill and a carefully curated collection of chilled house remixes from; Avicii, Gorgon City, Flume, The Chainsmokers and Snakehips.

Disc 2 captures the relaxed energy of the album whilst feeding the soul on a deeper and more stripped-back underground level with Maribous’s Midas (Ben Pearce Re-Edit) and Diplo & Sleepy Tom Be Right There (MK Remix) whilst maintaining the unique and vibrant Ibiza sounds with hits from: Kygo & Labrinth, Miguel Campbell, Birdy and Icarus.

________________________________________________

Throwback Summer Jamz (Out 10/06/16)

QUOTE
The next instalment in the #1 charting series, designed to give you more Vitamin D than Sunny Delight (even if the Great British summer disappoints) Throwback Summer Jamz kicks off in style with one of the biggest female groups of all time… Destiny’s Child, followed by the ultimate sunshine song from DJ Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince… ‘Summertime’. We keep the classics coming with a Magnum of artists including Mary Mary with ‘Shackles’ then Jennifer Lopez, Nelly and Montell Jordan before R.Kelly hits the ‘Ignition' to his sun kissed anthem.

CD2 continues the summers vibes with Rocket tracks from Shaggy, Sean Paul and Beenie Man then 90s anthems from Shabba Ranks (Mr Loverman), Chaka Deamus & Plies and the hotstepper Ini Kamoze before closing with the track at the centre of the worldwide Running Man Challenge, Ghostown DJs ‘My Boo’.

CD3 is flavoured by a Feast of old skool R&B to bring that summer feeling including NSYNC (Feat Nelly), R Kelly, Salt N Pepa, Outkast and Mr Magic himself, NeYo. We close with a summer melt of female talent from the likes of Mary J Blige, Mya and the legendary TLC.
________________________________________________

Chilled Electronic 80s (Out 27/05/16)

QUOTE
Music is shaped by the time and place it’s created… The 80s changes in politics, technology and culture came together to produce an explosion of new sounds that have come to define a generation.

Over 3 CDs these classic laid back tracks that chart the birth of modern chill-out, chilled dance and electronic today…

From the pioneering producers of synth; The Human League, Gary Numan and Giorgio Moroder to the immortal David Bowie and the dazzling electro-pop sounds of Duran Duran, Pet Shop Boys and Boy George…

Play just one of these epoch defining tracks and you can feel the energy of the era with more from show-stoppers The Cure, Spandau Ballet and Bryan Ferry that bring to life an alternative side of the decade; One of equal wonder to the dance floor electro classics but also of chilled cool.
